Yesterday afternoon I got stranded on I-69 going home to Ypsi from Indy. My car died just before reaching the state line. As I waited for them, that stupid«welcome to michigan» sign mocked me. :( When John got there and was backing up to get me I was so relieved to finally be saved. It was less than a hour of waiting, but on the day after Christmas with the rain and all those cars and trucks blasting past me, it felt like an eternity. It didn’t take long for John to get my car up on the flat bed and we were soon on our way to Coldwater. When we got there a little past 3pm the place was already closed. I called OnStar back to see if they could set up a hotel room for me. As they were listing the near by places John recommend that I ask if they would cover taking me all the way back to Ypsi. That way I could have my car dropped off at the dealership I go to, and my family could pick me up from there, and not have to deal with being stuck in Coldwater over the weekend. He also pointed out that the place would only be open 3 days because of the new year. So things could get really bad if I had my car fixed so far from home. It turns out that OnStar only covers the first 25 miles for a long trip like that. I decided that it would be better to just get home and pay the miles overage than to deal with all the out of town hassles. John was so nice and calm, he helped me keep my head and my cool. After it was decided to take my car back to Ann Arbor, we stopped to get gas and use the bathroom before heading out. John was very nice and we talked some, but there were also some times of silence on the drive. Overall the trip from Coldwater to Ann Arbor was wonderful, considering the circumstances. John also took the short cut through Spring Arbor, he said that it cuts out 30 miles of highway travel, I was glad to have the savings from that. I am so glad that it was John that took the call out. He really helped me get through the ride home, and I could tell that he really cares about all the people he helps. He only picks up weekend shifts here and there, being semi-retired, so I am very grateful that it was him that was there for me.
