The waitress was very nice. But the food was not good at all. I had tri tip and was like eat lunch meat from the grocery store. Also the brisket was not that tasty at all. So I would give them 1 star but the staff was friendly so they get two. Food gets zero.

4 of us ate here about a month ago. The restaurant was so cold inside. The food was bland with no flavor, room temp and the slowest service ever. It was a Sunday morning with only 2 waitresses working. It took us over 20 minutes to place a drink order and almost 40 minutes before we placed our food order. The restaurant is old and out dated. It could really use a good cleaning!

Simply put– inconsistent. Why put Sysco gravy all over what would, I think, a decent meatloaf? Place was a little dingy, which was fine. Our server was very sweet. The food took quite a while, 45 mins, from the time we ordered when there were only 4 occupied tables other than ours– all of whom looked to have already eaten and where now chatting. I ordered the meatloaf with a side salad, mashed potatoes and broccoli. He ordered country fried steak and gravy with clam chowder to start. The starters were pretty phenomenal, chickpeas, garbanzos, and kidney beans in the fresh salad– the clam chowder, outstanding. Both entrees were swimming in gravy– mine being far too salty to even attempt which took over ¾ of my plate. Inedible. I finished my broccoli and salad— that was it. He scraped some gravy to the side, his white gravy not being nearly as salty, and found his dish salvageable. I’d recommend a sandwich or burger here at best, or maybe just soup and salad. Gravy on the side maybe? I wouldn’t say their food is terrible, just poorly executed. Although the server comped my meal, which we appreciated– we likely will not return to this establishment.

On my way to Seattle, i decided to try this quiet restaurant. Everyone was friendly and the chef, whi is from SF came out to spea. He was sooo nice. I ordered a BBQ pork dinner. Im not a carnivore, but the ribs were thr most tender and succulent slices of meat I’ve eaten at a restaurant. Jacm Wasenius nailed it. Definitely eat here if you are in Orland, CA.

Been here several times over the years and have always had to wait way too long both to place our order and to get our food. The food is good but not worth the wait. We live in Orland and this used to be one of the only places to go out locally. I am so glad we have more choices in the last couple of years. I hated having to drive over to Chico when we wanted to go out for a quick bite, and I am not a fast food fan.

My wife, Elizabeth and I, had the wonderful experience of enjoying breakfast twice at the Berry Patch Restaurant, in Orland, Ca. . We walked in and received a warm greeting by a lovely young lady. She told us to sit where we liked and she would be right there. She came to our table and my wife and I ordered. She was very helpful and very enjoyable to talk to with her bubbly personality. . While we waited for our order we had the opportunity to enjoy being off the road, in a neat, clean, very comfortable and friendly restaurant where we were able to talk and relax. Our orders came beautifully prepared, with a doneness just as we had asked, the meal was perfect, no one could ask for better. . Our waitress completed our time there, she was very attentive and had a wonderful way about her. I have a few years on me and I can truthfully say that I have never been in a restaurant and had the pleasure of a more warm, gracious and attentive young lady, doing everything she could to make us comfortable. My wife couldn’t get over how outgoing and polite she was. I even called the manager and told him how pleased we were with everything and what a wonderful waitress we had to assist us, LINDSEY, thank you, you are a wonderful young lady. . Our overall experience was great. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, homey, the restrooms were clean, the food was great and our waitress was perfect. We couldn’t have chosen a better place. If you like a friendly, homey atmosphere where you can enjoy yourself the Berry Patch Restaurant, in Orland, CA, is for you. Our experience was A+ all the way. Sat. July 25, 2015

Good food but too many flies and not enough air conditioning. Also I got food poisoning there, want. I called, and the owner did not seem to care. So now, I am hesitant to eat there. but with that being said I have eaten there since and the food is always good and the ribs are excellent and so is the tritip.

The BBQ sauce was good. The ribs were undercooked and tough. No real favor to them. Never got the bread that was supposed to come with my meal. The BBQ chicken was warm not hot. It was like it was warmed up from the oven or microwave. The side salad was good. The coleslaw was runny and flavorless. Oh and the kids meals were good for the kids, but had to ask for the«free» ice cream with the kids meals. When asked the waitress said it cost an extra dollar. We were confused but another lady cleared things up and the kids got the ice cream. For a new waitress she was doing a good job. She was in charge of the entire room, and the only waitress.

Sooooo happy we came across this place. Drove all day and really wanted something better than a burger or something a little on the scary side… As far as roadside eating goes. You never know. Ribeye and baked potato. Amazing. Berry cobbler was great, too. Go there, eat good food, be fat n happy.

We were on the road and was originally going to try The Black Bear dinner(never tried it before), but the waitlist was just too long *sadness*. I was very hungry, so got back on the road and we kept driving until we saw a little sign off the freeway that led us here… It’s here at The Berry Patch, that we met«Fran», literally the coolest waitress! I asked her for a special request and it was granted at a very reasonable price(chicken and waffles)! I asked her if they could make chicken and waffles for me; they serve both, but separately. She made it happen! I was charged for a Belgian waffle($ 6.98) and $ 3 for 1 perfectly fried chicken breast(on the bone); very reasonable(4 stars for the food). –Our waitress Fran was super friendly, very attentive and definitely made us feel welcome(5-stars); even keeping the water glasses full w/o having to ask. –The coffee was good diner coffee(light/med roast) for $ 2(unlimited refills). –The pancakes were pretty big; as big as the entire oval-shaped plate. –Plenty of parking. I will DEFINITELY stopping by every time we take the I-5 road trip! *BIG Smiles*

This was a very disappointing meal. I ordered a dinner salad, but I got at best a side salad, with old lettuce turning color around the edges. The young waitress was nice and filled drinks several times. Lunch cost $ 20 for me and my wife, I felt beyond ripped off. If I was alone I would have confronted the manager over the food, but I did not want to embarrass my wife.

I’m on the road a lot and have the opportunity to eat at different places. I just finished eating the Tri-tip sandwich and the owner smokes them in the back. I highly recommend to all tri-tip, beef or pork rib fans! I would happily come back and service is friendly and fast ;)

As always this place is so delicious! We have been going here for years especially with my grandma. Well this stop was somewhat bittersweet as we went to scatter her ashes up north and decided to complete our trip and think about her as we ate brunch. It has been years since I have been here but still the same great place. Side note– Props to the chef!!! I eat egg whites only fried very hard and most restaurant fail at it– this one however, I ate the entire serving!!! For travelers, this place is very easy to get to. It is on and off the freeway with RV/Trailer parking on the side.

I had high hopes because there were about a dozen cars in the parking lot. I asked the waitress what the top dinner items were. She said any of the BBQ dinners. I ordered the BBQ chicken & my wife offered the pulled pork nacho. I asked if the food was freshly barbecued or reheated. The waitress said fresh. I got my chicken and you could see by the look of the bone of the chicken leg the it was over cooked. I gave it a try… it was just about as dry as jerky! I like the smokey flavor but this smoke was waaay to much for me. As for the pulled pork, it wasn’t pulled, it was chopped. Again way to much smoke flavor. Worse part was the chips were stale! We sent everything back & we weren’t charged. The manager & our waitress was very nice about every thing and said if we came back our meal would be on the house… no offense but I won’t be going back.
