Marco’s Pizza

Marco’s has an interesting business model. They are connected with the video store next door, each promoting one another and offering deals (there is even a window inside the video store which allows you to order your pizza while you are browsing videos).
The staff, though a bit young (read: inexperienced) was very friendly and overall fun to interact with. Orders come promptly and with a smile.
Thing is, the pizza really isn’t so great. I’m not quite sure how to describe it… one of my first impressions was that it was like eating some sort of «play food», like plastic fruit in a table centerpiece, or something one would craft in a play dough factory. It looks great in the pictures, but something is very off about it that is hard to describe.
I did try one of the sandwiches and found it enjoyable (though not very filling, especially considering the price)
That actually sums my impression up quite well — Marcos has lot’s of great flash… but too little substance for me.

When it comes to pizza I’m a total snob, especially when it comes to non-​authentic Chicago-​style pizza. I avoid Papa John’s and Domino’s like the plague, because to me, it’s not real pizza.
However, we decided to give give Marco’s a shot because they had thin and crispy crust on the menu and you can’t beat the price (plus they kept sending us menus in the mail and I was super hungry and it looked good). We got a deal for a two-​topping large pizza (we picked chicken and jalapeño) with a free cheesy bread. Since we got the thin and crispy crust, they cut it in Chicago-​style in squares instead of triangles. Although it’s no Nancy’s, this pizza definitely beats Papa John’s and Domino’s by a land slide as far as price/​quality/​taste. Plus, it was only ready in 15 minutes!
The sauce to me tasted a bit on the sweeter side, and like another reviewer said, I wish they included more sauce with the cheesy bread.
Staff was super friendly! One of the guys back there definitely has a future in sales with his personality.
Anyway, I would definitely get Marco’s again for a cheap/​fast pizza night!

Very good pizza and breadsticks. Good prize and a free movie. Cant beat that! Love this place and freindly people.

Tried Marco’s last night and was very pleased with their service. They were very quick, attentive, and very friendly. I walked in and ordered the cheezy bread went next door and rented a movie, and came back. My order was ready a few minutes later. I noticed they have a window right in Family Video where you can walk up and order your food, very convenient! The cheezy bread was big, I couldn’t even finish it. It was good. My only suggestion would be to give more marinara sauce. I would’ve rather had a bigger cup of marinara than a small cup of marinara and a small cup of ranch. After I ran out of the marinara sauce, I stopped eating the cheezy bread. I will be back to try their pizza next time!

Marco’s has recently opened up really close to my house. I was in for Thanksgiving break and my folks decided Friday night was the opportune time to order a pizza, I suggested we give the new place a shot.
We ordered a large thin crust with old world pepperoni and a parmesan crust. The guy on the phone was really nice and was very understanding of our need to have it ready at a later specific time.
The pizza itself was pretty tasty! The crust was thin and flavorful because of the parmesan topping. The cheese wasn’t too thick or too thin. The sauce was quite tasty, but I wish there was a little more, we typically ask for extra. The old world pepperoni is more like a spicy sausage. This was pretty good too, but we’d like to try their regular sausage for a comparison.
We did use a coupon for a couple bucks off. Marco’s pricing is fair for the quality of pizza they offer, especially with a coupon/​deal. I would definitely rather spend my money here than at Papa John’s/Domino’s.
They offer pizza and a movie deals, too.
Pretty good, I’ll order again!
