I was scheduled for a first appointment with Dr. Reed today at 7:00PM. An initial intake appointment like this is generally expected to be close to an hour. I was running a few minutes late and tried to call them via the phone number listed on here and google(708−873−9048) but no one picked up. I was in the door before 7:10PM for a first appointment and I tell the secretary I was here to see Dr. Reed at 7:00pm for a first appointment… the secretary tells me he has already left. They weren’t event aware of my appointment.

I was just reading the other reviews and boy do they sound familiar. I went to se Dr. Reed after just having moved to the area. When I called he answered right away and said to come over to office now. As anyone who sees psychiatrists knows it is never that easy to make an appointment. So, I went right over with my prescription list in hand(and the bottle just in case list was outdated). Reed told me he didn’t need any of this info because he can get it all from some mystery database that doctors have access to. Went over my history, did have some good ideas about other options for me, but when we were finished his Ipad crashed and he lost all my info. I thought oh brother now we need to do it all again and he said no its ok doesn’t matter. I was initially impressed but then he handed me a treatment plan and sent me home. When I saw the treatment plan it never occurred to me he didn’t address how I should wean off my meds except for one(I guess the only one he recalled since I never told him the other ones). I had a follow-up video conference scheduled for a few days later so I didn’t worry. When we spoke he again didn’t address my meds and was rushing. I hung up and realized I still needed direction on weaning off things like Ativan and Wellbutrin. So, I texted him and he said he can’t respond that way so I will need to schedule yet another appointment to discuss. I called him and said I didn’t think this was reasonable since I have now paid $ 210 for his expertise and he has no idea what I am even taking. He kept saying follow the treatment plan. The treatment plan he wrote after he lost all my info and kinda was winging it at end of our hour together. Anyone who knows knows you can’t just go cold turkey on Ativan or Wellbutrin. Anyway, as we went on I could tell his ego was getting best of him. He then claimed he was with a patient(who takes calls while with patients), said again to follow treatment plan, said I needed another appointment then said«wait who is this again?» I could go on with even more details but this is the gist of it. A huge ego, dangerously neglectful on proper weaning of medications, and incredibly absent minded. You walk into his office and he has 6 TVs on the wall(like he is Bill Gates), and all he goes on about is his technology. Just very odd experience all around!

Do not go to this doctor. Run, do not walk, out of this office, and do not look back. Upon signing in using the tablet with electronic forms, I was redirected to the main page of the application, containing names, birthdays, social security numbers, credit card data, scheduling, etc, for all of his patients. My appointment was 45 minutes late, giving me plenty of time to search through the private, highly sensitive data of several hundred patients the doctor had seen over the years. I discussed my concern with both the receptionist and Dr Reed, who informed me that he had written the application himself with absolutely no training in software development and would not admit that he was breaking every HIPAA law in the book, claiming that this was«how everyone does it» and that his receptionist«must have started the application in the wrong mode.» My appointment was late, I was told, because the database had crashed. I advised him to cease using his software immediately and hire a professional to come and handle this sensitive data responsibly, and was asked not to come back to his office. No problem.
