Do not even consider bringing your jewelry here.
I brought in a piece that was 10k gold, weighing 2.3 pennyweight and the woman working offered me $ 14 for it. After I asked how much it had weighed, she told me the weight, then stated that there are 10 pennyweights in a gram, giving me the impression that my piece was very, very light.
When I expressed I was expecting more for my item, the offer magically rose to more than double the original offer. So, had I agreed to the first offer, they were just going to dupe me out of the difference? How nice…
Thankfully, I left and took my item somewhere else (NOT another GoldMax, but to a jewelry shop & a pawn shop) There, I was offered the actual value of the piece ($ 60). I also inquired to the HONEST people working there about the weight of my piece, where I learned there are 10 pennyweights to an ounce, not a gram, making my piece about 3 grams, not ¹⁄₅ of a gram as I was originally told. Clearly, the woman working was trying to take advantage of me by giving me the impression I was selling an almost worthless, light piece of jewelry.

My experience at Gold Max was exceptional! Charley G. helped me and she was knowledgeable, courteous and quick. The price was even better the the competitor. I would recommend her to any one and I will defiantly go back!
