Great food, terrible service! I love to support local businesses but don’t want to be made to feel like my server is doing me a favor when I’m out for a nice meal. Have spoken to several neighbors who all feel the same. Would be great if the management could work with staff to improve service so that locals actually want to eat here!

More Northern Thai cuisine so the food has a bit different feel than typical Thai. The Chiang Mai noodles and ginger salad are favorites in the family and many other dishes(too many to recount here) are pretty good. Whether eating in or picking up, the service and food are pretty good. While my kids prefer the other thai restaurant in town(which I love too), this place is better for adults(although if I ever show up without my kids, my typical waitress always asks how the kids are). Always a pleasure to eat here.

Good food AWFUL service!!! My friend was choking and needed water. She held her hand up but no one paid any attention. Finally another customer pointed out my friend to the waitress. She turned around and looked and then went right ahead and ignored her. I hope the owners change this as this was the worst service yet but it has never been great.

Awesome food, comes up really fast. Try the ginger salad, I actually crave it! Singapore noodles are really good too. We mostly get take out, but had our first sit down and service was good.

I am so very excited that I’ve found this delicious Thai restaurant. I’ve been in a couple of times at lunch and it’s pretty quiet and the food comes out very quickly. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. I’m pretty picky about Thai food and everything I’ve had here has been awesome. Be sure to check out the back of the menu for the lunch specials. My favorite so far is the mixed vegetables red curry and the basil chicken.

Actually decent thai A bit expensive and they can’t turn up the heat even when asked.

We just got takeout here last night. Consistently great food. Love the ginger salad, chicken with yellow curry, coconut soup, egg rolls, and the chicken satay. We have been coming here for years(well, mostly getting takeout). The only reason it’s 4 stars and not 5 is that it’s a bit pricey. HOWEVER, well worth it because the ingredients are high quality and fresh.

I saw a four star review on Unilocal and went here for dinner on a Friday evening. The food is far from authentic Thai food. Décor is nice and I think most people go here for cocktails. I ordered the chicken green curry which had large pieces of Zuchinni and the Chiang Mai noodles full of sweet yellow curry. The food was not spicy at all so we ordered Chilli sauce. Perhaps ok for Orinda but this place does not pass my test of Thai restaurants I will go back to again.

Best Thai foo this side of the tunnel! This lovely family restaurant located in charming Orinda is a wonderful treat. The spicy beef salad is delicious, tart, and perfectly prepared. The pad Thai is scrumptious, served with more shrimp than one might expect from a full shrimp entrée. Don’t forget to try the lemonade. It is made fresh, and a great complement to this deeply satisfying cuisine. Put simply, I’m a fan.

I come here once in a while for since I work right down the street. Spacious/clean inside, nice décor, friendly staff, and the food is a little better than average but not amazing. Or maybe I need to try a few more dishes? I would only eat here if I was in the area. They do close at 2 and reopen at 5(I think?) which is sometimes inconvenient if I take a late lunch. I’ve tried the bbq pork and chicken satay so far, they were just okay. My chicken satay seemed a little undercooked but the peanut sauce is delish. I mean I love peanut sauce in general but this one was exactly how I like it, creamy but not chunky. Ordered with sticky rice and it was lacking in stickiness, seemed a little tough and maybe cooked a few days ago? Next time I would probably try a noodle dish and green curry, apparently it’s to die for!

I haven’t found a better Thai place anywhere, and I have searched. Prawn salad, coconut soup, panang curry with beef, yellow curry chicken, Thai fried rice– all so, so good. The owners are a fantastic local family as well!

Best Thai in Orinda: CHECK. Honestly if you happen to be in the area just give it a try, it’s amazing. They are really nice, helpful, and the food is *****YUM******* plus it’s very cheap. I got the Chiang Mai Chicken soup OMG just wow, so tasty, the right amount of spiciness, and it is HUGE. I mean 10 bucks for that amount of yumminess is incredible. I had it to go and could not finish half of it, so it’ll last for two — super delicious — meals tonight and tomorrow. YUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUM

Meeh, food was just OK — service was good. there were seven of us, all adults, we ordered a plate each but meant to share family-style for everyone… Jalapeño beef, Peanut Beef, Pad-Thai, Pad-see-ew, Eggplant and chicken, Papaya Salad w/Shrimp and Fried Egg rolls… Everyone was crazy about the noodle dishes, but the entrees were all just okay for me. Family likes this place, so I’m sure we’ll be back.

A bit salty and somewhat greasy. Had to wait quite a bit for service even though there were 3 servers Price is not cheap. There are better Thai places in the area

Seriously one of the best steaks I’ve had. I think the dish is called«crouching Tiger». It’s a rib eye in Thai spices. Side of vegetables. Just what the menu said. I didn’t want carbs, but sometimes it’s on the plate anyway… And I eat them. So, I was happy that the meal matched the menu… Steak and veggies.

Had a delicious dinner at Siam Orchid last night. Went in around 7:30 and only had to wait for about five minutes for a table. Nice interior — cozy, with an open kitchen and little bar area. Service was very attentive and nice. All of the servers were very friendly. Food was excellent. Chiang Mai noodles are my new favorite thing — theirs were sooo good. Lettuce wrap appetizer was delicious. The spicy garlic green beans were awesome — crunchy and very spicy. The Panang curry was good but I think the one at the Thai House in Danville is better — same with the pad Thai. They have a better wine list than most Thai restaurants — at least 8 reds and 8 whites by the glass. I’ll definitely be back for those green beans and Chiangmai noodles!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place when I went on my lunch break the other day. The décor is really cute inside and we were seated promptly. However, we must have got there just in time because a flood of people came soon after for lunch. Food: I ordered the spring rolls which were very yummy, accompanied by a delicious peanut sauce. The salads are really big, packed with flavor. I ordered the prawn and lemongrass salad. Colorful, beautifully plated with a nice zingy dressing. Lastly, the Thai iced tea was super yummy! I would def come back to try more of the menu. The prices weren’t bad either for the quality. My salad was about $ 11!

Absolutely divine. Came here on a whim. Restaurant is large and capacious, providing plenty of seating; along with a beautiful, generously sized open bar. The restaurant also appeared immaculately clean and exuded an air of tranquility. I was seated at a nice secluded table facing the mirrored bar. Service was prompt and precise. I decided upon the Ginger Scallops off their lunch menu. It comes accommodated with soup and rice, I just however, opted out on the rice. Food arrived fairly quickly, looking exquisitely delicious; and absolutely delightfully delicious it tasted. The flavors were delicate, though savory, and just utterly delectable. Just exquisite to every last detail. My only complaint, is that I was never asked how everything was, but other than that, I can’t complain. I would certainly return again.

Review based on takeout last Friday night — Singapore rice noodle with beef — 13 Yellow curry chicken — 13 Steamed Jasmine rice — 2 2 thai ice teas TOTAL — 38,15 (My receipt wasn’t itemized so I don’t know how much their Thai ice tea is) I ordered the yellow curry chicken for a friend and she loved it. I thought their Singapore rice noodle dish was really good, too, and the portion was huge! Their Thai tea is also solid — rich tea flavor with a hint of half and half. Everything was packaged very well(the container they put the curry in was then wrapped in an individual plastic bag. They did not include utensils, but once I asked them, they offered me napkins, forks, and spoons. The cups of Thai tea were put in a Singha beer carrier meant for thinner bottles, which meant that it was a good way for me to get to my car in one trip, but once inside, I opted to put them in my car cupholders. The restaurant was full when I walked in, and I look forward to getting to see what their dine-in experience is like. Even though I could find comparable Thai food for much less money in Berkeley or Oakland, it’s nice to know I have the option of good Thai food just a few miles from home.
