Nina did a wonderful job on my hair for senior ball. I had her do my hair for prom last year and liked it so much I came back. She was able to replicate a photo I showed her of what I wanted, and it only took about 30 minutes! She made sure my hair was super secure and it ended up staying in place all night. I highly recommend Salon Elegante if you ever need a fancy hairstyle done!

Nina did a beautiful job on my hair. I showed her photos of the balayage highlights I wanted and she made my hair look just like the photos. I wasn’t exactly sure what color I wanted so she was helpful in picking color for me based on my sort of vague descriptions like, «not too blonde». Overall the color looks very natural and even and I’m super pleased.

I was visiting my friend in east bay and I was in need of a hair do. I liked the reviews and gave it a chance… Omg. I love my hair. Didn’t know I could look like a movie star !!! Definitely recommend this place !!!

I cut my own hair for almost 3 years. She cut my cousins hair and i saw how great of a job she did and decided it was time for a professional to take over! Let me just say, I have never had a more compliments on my hair! It is perfect. Not only is she extremely talented, I love hanging out with her too! If you are looking for a a hairstylist for life, she is the one!

Salon elegante lives up to its name! I love this salon so much every time I go in I just feel at home. I am not one to be comfortable at most hair salons. Nina is absolutely amazing! She gives you the look you want and more. She knows exactly how to take care of you when you are in her salon. I recommend her to all of my friends in need of some TLC. You will leave her salon feeling brand new! I trust Nina with my hair more than I trust myself. She has a vision for my hair that I always absolutely love even when I want something new! Highly recommend!

Went in maybe a month ago, hair was done by a girl named Krystina. First off, I thought because of all of the positive reviews, she would easily be able to take my hair from medium brown to blonde. I was going for the blonde «peekaboos», a style I had successfully obtained in the past by a different stylist, and ended up with a few highlights and two obnoxious orange chunks on the back of my head. Secondly, making an appointment was somewhat of a pain. I would make a call in the morning and she would tell me she would call me back and never get back to me. After I tried four or five times with my phone, I ended up getting an appointment by calling with a different number…
DON’T even want to go through all of the trouble of trying to make another appointment to have her fix it!

I’ve been coming to Salon Elegante for 3 years now and I always walk away satisfied and loving my look! Nina is great and very professional. She’s a perfectionist and always makes sure I look my best when I walk out the door. I highly recommend her!

What a gem in Orinda. Nina is awesome. She is always professional, friendly and on time. I love this place its so close to work, I can get back to work within hour and Nina always gives me a discount since I work in Orinda. Nina is the first hair stylist I never have to fix my bangs or hair after a hair cut. Thanks Nina your the best.

The salon is beautiful. An I love downtown Orinda. But I have to brag about the hair stylist Krystina. I left the salon gitty with happiness over love for my hair.

I needed to find a real stylist for my 14 year old daughter this year. She’d decided that she needed to get a real haircut, something bold. Time to graduate from the mid-​back trim.
Took a chance, called the local salon, and talked to Nina. She accommodated our schedule (it was tight), cautiously took my daughter’s ideas («Are you sure? I don’t want you to hate me!») and created an amazing look, exactly what my daughter was hoping for. The look on her face as we left said everything– she felt amazing, and looked it too.
Our recent follow up visit was simply more of the same, and cemented my first impression; Nina is enthusiastic, generous with her time, and is a skilled stylist and colorist. She also seems to have a very good sense of her client’s comfort level; cautious and careful when needed, daring when turned loose. Hallmarks of a real pro in this industry.
Kid is thrilled, friends are stunned, I’m impressed. Space is comfy, good product lines. Other stylists seem consistently professional as well, in the brief contact I’ve had with them.
Was not expecting to be so satisfied without driving a lot farther. We’re sold.

Salon Elegante is a gem of a salon! Come and see Nina, she owns the salon and is the best stylist I have ever had!!!
I have been a fashion stylist on photo shoots for 20 years, so I know the beauty business pretty well and therefore very fussy about who I hand myself to– this lady knows her stuff.
I think one of Nina’s biggest assets is her skill in an overall beauty look; she advises me on makeup, color, skincare, threading (Nina has a full setup for all these at the salon) and is on point in terms of what is current.
Last word, I am moving from Orinda to Saint Helena and will DEFINITELY be making the trip back to Nina every month!

Nina is great to work with. I really like her salon because it is so clean, quiet and peaceful. I have to admit, I sit in that chair and feel like I am about to fall asleep because it is so peaceful there. Nina is great and always pays attention to detail. As I age, my hair has become more of a challenge to deal with :-(Nina is sensitive to that and always has some good suggestions.

I went here to get my eyebrows, upper lip and hairline threaded and had a great experience. The place is clean, has a nice upscale ambiance, and very good pricing! I paid 10 dollars for each of the services I mentioned above, which is better pricing than you can get at any other competitor in this area by FAR. I really like this place and would recommend it over any other salon I’ve been to in Orinda.

I love Nina and really didn’t expect to find someone so professional and upbeat in conservative and sleepy Orinda downtown. She’s been cutting my hair for quite a while now and I have not been disappointed even once.

I went to salon elegante the first time because I had a groupon, but went back because Nina did such a great job. She did exactly what I wanted, took her time, and did another amazing job. She heard I was graduating, so she curled my hair and styled it free of charge and said I could come back the next day if I wanted her to touch it up. The place is very elegant and relaxing. They offer you a beverage if you want it and make you feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend anyone to go here, they do a variety of things and are very knowledgable and personable!

I just got a haircut by Mishawna and I love it. I used to have long hair but it all fell out last year thanks to chemo. I’ve decided that I want to keep it short but it is hard to find a super short feminine cut. Mishawna just gave me a super short pixie and it looks great. I showed her some pictures of what I hoped for and my hair looks just like the pictures. I truly LOVE it!

Farry is simply the greatest stylist in the area hands down. Unbelievable work and she just genuinely knows what she’s doing.

I’ve been to Esther Silvera at the salon about 5 – 6 times and I keep going back because I love the way my hair looks. My hair is straight and pretty fine but Esther cuts it in a way to give it body and then when I style my own hair it comes out great. She has been making suggestions about the way to cut it the last couple of times and I trust her judgment and continue to be happy with my hair. I usually get positive comments about my hair too which is nice.

Although Janine is no longer with this salon, I would recommend any of their stylists to a friend. The staff is great, super friendly, and definitely talented. No worries when you visit them.
