Kasper’s Hot Dogs

Horrible!!! We were served cold hot dogs. We asked if they could be heated up which she did, but the bread was soggy and the hot dogs were still cold. On top of that I found a hair in my cheese dog. Obviously we threw them away. Will not be going back!!!

After previous bad experiences here, I tried again last night. I was short on time and wanted a quick bite, out of the rain. However, to my dismay, the SAME HORRIBLE SERVICE, or shall I say «non» service. The woman walked up from the back, looked at us and said nothing. She then pulled out 4 hotdogs and buns and started assembling them. We were standing DIRECTLY in front of her! She never looked up. I even joked that «eventually she will look up and greet us»…, but she never did! We LEFT and went 2 doors over to Petra Café and had a wonderful Greek dinner. Stay outta Kaspers. The dogs are not as good as Caspers, they are over priced and the service STINKS.

Wow! Their deliciously whipped Orange fizz is Awesome. Relish, tomato, mustard and ketchup on a footlong all beef dog. Doesn’t get much better.
I heard the hype and its all true, this place is really Legen-​wait for it… dary. Orinda as a whole is a very cozy, quaint little neighborhood all together.
This definitely will not be my last time coming here.

Fast, tasty, reasonable portions, and inexpensive.
Also right next to the Orinda Theater, so it’s perfect for a quick bite to eat before seeing a movie there, since the theater really only sells popcorn, candy, and drinks (nothing to constitute an actual meal).

Great dogs for 4 generations. Nice owners here been gong for 40 years

Kasper’s has the best all beef hot dogs and it is in such a great location. It is nice to have an option for a snappy dog on a steamed bun at the right price in an area where things are pretty expensive. Don’t forget the orange fizz! I love this place!

I feel so bad for this place. Hardly any business, and the owners are soo nice.
I can only gauge how good this place is based on my favorite hot dog by hebrew national… all beef. The place looks old, the hot dogs don’t inspire a lot of confidence just sitting in the steamer.
I have had this place 3 times now trying different «dogs.» All of them should be retired to doggy heaven because of several factors:
1. It’s small– the hotdog is around $ 4 and it’s a weenie litterally
2. I can feel the capsule around the meat– not good
I’m all about good value but this place will just make you feel guilty eating a hot dog, upset that you spent $ 4 on it, and depressed knowing the owners probably eat this everyday to save some bucks.

Yummmm! I love Casper’s/Kasper’s! The one in Theater Square is the most accessible to me, and I’d love to eat there more if hot dogs had less calories :)
Their polish dogs and original dogs are scrumptious. They also offer a variety of chips and some drinks (and specialty drinks such as crushed ice lemonade). They have some very interesting items on the menu for those adventurous eaters such as the nacho dog, the double dog, the chili cheese dog, and this pretty good extra spicy hot link dog. I’d definitely recommend coming here if you’re in the mood for a good hot dog and friendly service.
The parking is generally OK, but since it’s Theater Square, you’re going to have some troubles finding parking on weekends and in the late afternoon/​evening on weekdays. There is, however, a garage available for use right near the place. It costs money during certain hours, but it’s still pretty convenient.

Boiled weiners, steamed buns, and a very very basic preparation your thing? *Maybe* you’ll like it.
BBQ’d yourself or Top Dog from Berkeley is a million times better than this.
The owners are very nice people, and the place is clean, but this one always disappoints as incredibly bland and boring. Maybe the little kidlets like it because it’s so plain.?

there was nothing wrong with my hot dog (2.79) yet i felt disappointed. no juices rushed out after the the big crunch. caspar’s dogs have it.
have since found out both outfits use different manufacturers for their
dogs. (caspars/​spar?, kaspers/​evergood).

My big brother loves this place, and whenever he visits, this is our first destination after the airport pick-​up… I can only eat one per visit. But somehow, Big Bro manages to put away MANY. How many? I’ll let you guys ask him. =)
Haven’t tried a Costco Hot Dog yet. maybe my mind will change if I try that???

A pretty disappointing hot dog. Not terrible, but mediocre. I’d rather have a $ 1.50 Costco hot dog, even if price wasn’t an issue. I don’t know how these guys stay in business. Also, isn’t the name an obvious rip off of Casper’s?
