Justin, our mountain biking guide, was one of the best we’ve had. He is a highly qualified nature expert on the Redwoods. Our day was super fun, interesting and we learned so much abut the Redwoods. We loved biking through the forest. Once in a lifetime! The lodge was very comfy, spacious and clean. Basic but very comfortable in an amazing location. Justin also took us to special«secret» location where most people don’t know about!

We didn’t stay here but we drive through and did the mountain biking tour. We met here at the camp ground and our tour guide took us through the park. We also saw Elk(from a distance) and the trees were amazing! We rode for about 4 hours and it was a great experience.

We had a great stay at Elk Meadows! Woke up both morning to Elk in front and back of our cabin! The people who run the place are very accommodating and friendly. The cabins are very nice. Satellite TV, Wifi, fully furnished… Lots of great hiking and site seeing to do in the area. I highly recommend staying here.

WOW! Wife & I stayed here October 1 – 18, 2015. All cabins are 3 bdrm. Stayed in Johnny Redwood Cabin #19, farthest from Hwy 101. Spotless, comfortable and well equipped. WiFi so so. Came for the elk and that is what we got. This cabin has largest front yard tree. Seems the tree leaves are an elk delicacy. Afternoon of 2nd day had(best I could count) 53 elk in front yard and meadow across the street. As photos show, one of the cows sampled my beer, scratched her head on car side mirror and gazed in the front window(got food in there?). Only problem was getting them to leave so we could use the car to go to 5:30 dinner reservation in Patricks Point. An absolutely amazing stay. If you want to experience nature up close and personal without leaving the house, this is the place to do. Thank you Elk Meadow Cabins for such a comfortable and unique experience. Can’t figure out how to upload photos. What a shame.

Great cabins with three bedrooms, TV and wifi. And the Elk! This is one of their stomping grounds and they spent an entire day just hanging around the cabins. What great fun! And a perfect central location by the Redwoods. So many trails to choose from that are 5 – 10 minutes away. We loved it and would gladly stay again. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful as well. We really liked our tour with Ken.

We stayed at Elk Meadow in April 2015. it was FANTASTIC!!! We woke up to Elk either in the yard or in the nearby feild every single day. The cabin was great, enough space for our family of 5. Bring food because the local market doesn’t have much. We hope to come back. We also went on 2 adventures with Ken, it was amazing! Our 3 boys loved it! We loved seeing and doing things we wouldn’t normally do or even know about. Ken personalized the Adventures to meet our needs and ages or our kids(7,5,3) We loved everything about the vacation!

The cabin was remodeled and well decorated and we enjoyed the wildlife. However, the cabin had a very strong carpet fresh odor, 2 air fresheners, a big bowl of potpourri, that smelled synthetic. My husband usually does not notice what places smell like. However, he was very unhappy with all of the fake smells. It was overwhelming even after being aired out for 3 hours. One bedroom was not made up, the bed was on end, standing against the wall, with bedding and pillows on the floor, and there was so much carpet fresh under where the bad had been that we were concerned it was drywall, and that the room was under construction. Nice places should not need to mask odors. More often that not, what you are trying to cover up, smells no worse then all of the fake smells. And if it does smell badly enough to need a ton of carpet fresh, then I think the carpets need to be properly cleaned. At $ 300 a night, I expect to not have to deal with a perfume or funky odors. Luxury condos have it down to a science and clean well enough to get the smell out, so that they don’t try to hide odors with carpet fresh and air fresheners. That is tacky. Such great cabins it’s sad to tacky it up with fake smells.

We drove from LA to Seattle on the PCH. Rather than stopping in Crescent City at a less expensive hotel, I thought it would be fun to try out a cabin in the Redwood Forest. We had no idea what to expect. We have a dog, so the fact that the cabins are dog friendly was a big plus. We stayed in a three bedroom cabin, it was very clean and spacious. The grounds were nice and well kept. We were pleasantly surprised to wake up to a large herd of elk in our back yard. They were amazing, there were several calves and they were so cute. It was an experience we will not soon forget. The only reason I rated it a 4 star and not 5, is because it is not the Ritz, there are no TV’s in the bedrooms, and limited access to wifi, but then again that is not why we stayed there. It was well worth it and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to get away and experience nature.

We vacation here every year. Beautiful location and very close to Prairie Creek State Park which has the best hiking/walking trails in the redwoods park system. The«cabins»(3 bdrm, 2 bath houses) are great. Our only complaints are that, in the dog cabin, one of the single beds has an uncomfortable mattress and one of the showers is too tight for adults. Other than that, this place is perfect. P. S. Wi-Fi can be very slow and there is no cell service(you’ll have to go to Orick for that).

We stayed 3 days in the Lady Bird cabin and we had such a wonderful time. The cabin had absolutely everything we needed. The location was great for we were near many great hiking trails and did both coastal and redwood hikes. We had a herd of wild elk right in our back yard our second morning there. It was amazing! The only thing I wish I had realized was just how far away a good grocery store was. The Orick market leaves much to be desired with rotting produce and items on the shelves that had expired over a year earlier. I would stop in Eureka on the way up(if you’re coming North on the 101) and stock up there. It’s only about 45 mins– 1 hour away from the cabins. With a full kitchen and a BBQ it would have been nice to have better food to prepare.

This place was a godsend on day 7 or 8 of a road trip. For about $ 160 we got our own pre-fab 3 bedroom house, complete with a washer and dryer! Clean undies for us. It looks new, is totally clean and homey, and there is a firepit on the grounds – we spent the whole night around our bonfire. The cabins have back decks with bbqs too. And the elks roaming around the backyard are quite a sight!

Renovated this year. Very clean, spacious. $ 230.00/nite was more than we wanted to pay originally but considering the quality — great deal. A house — 3 bedrooms, W/D, full kitchen with utensils, TV, back yard, balcony. W/D = half of our travel clothes needed. Remember: everything you need is there, but shampoo. You probably could use the moistured soap there. Pillow was too thin for me, but sleepable. A lot of great hike trails around. Elks and deers. We will be back!

Great place to stay… very clean, super convenient homebase after long days of hiking. Totally a home away from home, all the amenities you need. There is a reason they call this Elk meadow. They hang out here right across the street and provide a great view from the picture windows of your cabin.
