The owner was very helpful and store seemed very clean to me. I really liked the birds out front and were cool to interact with. Nice to see they’re not trapped in cages all day. This place is perfect if you are like me and try to support small business in America instead of the big box retail stores.

I got my African Grey here from Heather in 2011. I’m not sure what Mike was looking at, but the store is clean. The«loose» birds up front are all on a playpen together where they can socialize with lots of people and other birds so they don’t turn out to be monsters later in life. The smallest birds(cockatiels etc) are in a separate enclosure from the larger birds(Macaws, Greys, conures, amazons). There are occasionally kittens(not kitchens) in store also available to socialize, but none of them can reach any of the birds and are never in danger from each other. 3 years later and my Grey is one of the happiest, healthiest birds I know. Thanks in large part to Heather’s rearing and socialization in and out of the store as a baby. The store came under new management a year or so before i started visiting. My cousins also have a yellow naped amazon that Heather took in to help re-home after some fortunate circumstances with the original owners. She was able to place three birds out of that situation instead of having them end being put down. I’ve never had a bad experience at this store, and I go back every chance I get, even though I live in Chicago now.

I came in here cause its right by the Conover Mall I never seen such a dirty smelly pet store! the bird cages stunk soooo bad and they were full of poop the fish tanks were mostly empty with dead fish floating. There were lots of little kitchens running all over the store and there were lots of birds loose in the front. Kittens and little birds dont mix its just waiting for disaster to happen! I dont think I need to come here again!
