Honeybaked Ham

We were very excited to hear Oregon city was getting a honey baked ham store. Our first couple of times visiting the new store in Oregon city we ordered the basic honey baked ham in pocket bread sandwich. We thought that there was not enough meat and the basic so we switched to the super honey baked or the Montecristo. The first time we tried one of each and there was more than enough meat and fixings on the sandwich. Now that I’ve had three visits with dissatisfactory amounts of fixings and meat on the sandwich I am posting. I don’t know whether they are having a trouble with their profit margins or it depends on the employees mood when preparing your sandwich but I have been very dissatisfied with the amount of meat that they are placing onto they’re more expensive deluxe sandwiches. We hope that they change this policy so that we can post the review that honey baked ham deserves for the store

Amanda helped us when we first walked into this at the time empty ham shop. What a super nice girl. I see that some have had bad service here but Amanda was very sweet and helpful on a weekday afternoon. We wanted to try the sandwiches and chose to go with the signature ham pocket bread sandwich as is.
They warm their sandwiches which I thought was odd being on pocket bread but it seemed to work. The warming process brought out the flavors of the ham and mustard, both of which I liked together. The ham was very tender. The mustard was slightly tangy but still mild. Most of the ham was stuffed below a mound of shredded ice burg lettuce which is my nemesis lettuce unless it is on a old– fashioned glorious greasy diner burger where it belongs. There was not very much ham on the sandwich which I did not mind, but I can see that others may be disappointed by the small serving.
I would not put this on my go-​to list but I would not avoid it either. The ham was pretty tasty. Mine was a basic sandwich and they have many to chose from. They also have different types of bread. I think the prices are formidable. If you are a ham lover give it a try and I do hope you get Amanda. What a sweetheart she was!

I had a really good ham sandwich the Saturday before Easter.
The place was pretty busy but I didn’t mind.
The sandwich was warm, simple and tasty for about five bucks.
They have about six tables for you to sit down and eat. It’s kinda small but I see a lot of comments about the seating. It’s known for its ham that you walk away with. They are not Red Robin, if the seating is full, eat your sandwich in your car.
The service overall was quick.

Worst service ever. Girls are very unprofessional and rude. Came in at 540 after work and she said I am sorry we don’t make sandwich after 5?! Why would they even stay open after 5. Won’t ever go to this location again.

Thrilled the restaurant is back open after closing several times for remodel! I am so happy they are in this location close to my house and I don’t have to drive into Portland now to have the same lunch! Soups are amazing as is the Montecristo sandwich! The best win-​win of all is the fact that Beaverton Bakery is partneting in with them at least for the holidays but I am hoping and praying they stay because I love their baked goods equally and is so much closer for us and family then going to the one in Tualitan.
I think the only thing this restaurant needs is more tables! They are doing a bang up job now that they are back up and running and my family & I are thrilled!

I was SO excited when I saw Honeybaked Ham open in Oregon City. I love Honeybaked ham, and I love the idea of being able to buy a sandwich without having to spring for an entire ham. We have gotten whole hams from here and everything went fine, but when I got sandwiches, it was more than disappointing.
While we were waiting for our sandwiches, I noticed that there was a 2 for 1 sale on ham bones. I decided to get two, along with some soup mixes. After I was rung up and charged, I saw that I had been charged full price for two. The person at the register apologized and said they didn’t realize there was a sale. There were sale flyers everywhere. Crediting me back (I paid with a card) did not go smoothly.
There is not much seating at the store for eating, and it’s not very comfortable, so we decided to eat at home. When we got home and unveiled our lunch, my friend had a non-​pocket sandwich that was loaded with ham. It was beautiful. When I unwrapped my pocket sandwich, it had one tiny piece of ham in it. It was so ridiculous that my friend took ham out of her sandwich to give it to me. I understand that there has to be a «base level» sandwich on the menu without the bells and whistles, but for what I paid for my sandwich, it felt like a total rip off. Honeybaked Ham should not sell a ham sandwich that barely contains ham.
I’m hoping they are just getting started and things will improve, but I get the feeling that they don’t intend to stay in business for long. The menu is a dry erase board, and it looks like they could pack up the entire contents of the store in 2 hours or less. I’ve seen more professional looking Honeybaked Ham kiosks at the mall. I’m not sure how it qualifies as part of the Honeybaked Ham franchise. I will give it 2 stars for having Honeybaked hams for sale (and being vigilant about reminding us not to bake them), but beyond that, it is pretty sad.
