Kays has the best homemade breakfast and lunch around. I visit every time I’m in town. Kay and her daughters make you feel right at home. Give it a try. You can’t go wrong.

Stopped in on a weekday for breakfast. It was busy, but no wait for a booth. We had our coffee within about 60 seconds. Ambience is quaint and comfortable, décor probably hasn’t changed in decades, which is all part of the appeal. We enjoyed the Orcutt Hash and a traditional American breakfast. Food was piping hot and delicious. House-made biscuits were excellent. Service was attentive and efficient. Great place for breakfast if you’re in the area — or even worth a short drive.

This is a great breakfast place. I’ve gotten the Eggs Benedict and the French toast and they were both great. The coffee is great and the service is awesome.

Kay’s is definitely one of our favorite breakfast hot spots. Excellent service and the food is over the top, DELICIOUS! Without a doubt, they serve the best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had.

Breakfast was on point. Showed up with a group of 7 and was seated pretty fast. Food was delicious and price is appropriate considering the amount of food we received. Highly recommend and guaranteed to return…

My friend and I chose this place to meet up. There was a wait but that’s always a good sign for good food and we were in no rush. We walked in and was greeted with a very friendly welcome. The menu was full of great unique breakfast dishes(I love breakfast foods) along with other lunch and dinner entrees. I ordered the Orcutt Hash… You will not be disappointed if you get this. The portions are huge and the biscuit and gravy is excellent also. My friend and I sat there for about 3.5 hrs meeting and the service was absolutely perfect! There was no feeling of any rush and we finally left when they shut down for the afternoon. This is in no doubt a local favorite and this is definitely a favorite for me as one who drives through. I highly recommend this place as their service and food quality are both excellent. Enjoy!

Best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. Always packed for weekend breakfast so get there early. Staff is friendly and although they were super busy for breakfast, our waitress checked up on our table plenty of times.

11÷28÷15. Breakfast Kay’s must be the hot spot in town for breakfast. There’s a 15-minute wait for our party of 6 at 8:45am today. They’ve got free coffee outside while we wait. On a warm day it would’ve nice to dine out on the sidewalk but obviously not when it’s 48 °F out! The staff is very friendly and assure us the table shall be ready soon. We were finally seated in the back room but since there were other big parties ahead of us, food took about 45 minutes to arrive. Not a big deal, it’s holiday for everyone. Coffee and water are quickly served and promptly refilled while we chitchat. *Huevos Rancheros($ 11) is served on corn tortilla. Egg is over medium and the sauce is very tasty. The hash brown is perfect, brown and crispy at the top. *Enchilada Omelet($ 12). Two people order this and they have mixed opinion. One said its not as good as before, and the minced beef tasted old. The other said he liked the enchilada sauce over the omelet. I think the egg is slightly overlooked. *Check It Yourself Scramble($ 11.95) is listed as three egg whites scrambled with mushroom, spinach and artichoke. I asked for regular scramble with yolk and white and they are happy to accommodate. Egg is fluffy and the artichoke adds to the flavor. It’s very good scramble. *Oatmeal($ 7.95) is quite a ritual in the way it’s served. Oatmeal itself is lumpy(a good sign), milk is on the side in a little mason jar, along with some blueberries and nuts. It’s a hearty serving. Even though they’re slammed and food took a while, they came by to check on our water and coffee. My only gripe is the biscuit that is too dry and crumbly. But the breakfast is very good. The quality and value justify the wait.

Gluten Free! I have a very sensitive gluten allergy that is challenging to accommodate while traveling. I was thrilled to locate this little gem of a place while on our road trip from San Diego. Not only was the food delicious, but they were extra careful to use separate utensils & even cooked my hash browns in a pan to keep from cross exposure. Also, I can’t post this review without mentioning the incredible décor and customer service. So impressed with this place.

A convenient and delicious choice for a weekend breakfast. We have come here multiple times and a favorite of mine is the chorizo omelette. The husband likes to order the biscuits and gravy but that’s usually hit or miss – today it was a miss. They get real busy on the weekends which is a shame since sometimes the food is plated but piled up at the pick up window so the temperature and consistency might be off depending on what you ordered and when you finally got it. The Monte Christo was pleasant, first time trying this type of sandwich.

I ordered linguca plate with hash brown and add$ 1 for pancake. The sausage was Salty like other american sausages and not special. The hash brown was ok. I did like the pancake. It was fluffy and chewy. The service was good.

I have lived for 3 years now in San Francisco(going to school) and every chance I get to stop by Kay’s I do. I have found NOTHING in the bay area that even comes close to the awesomeness of Kay’s both in their Food, Service, Environment and Courtesy. Everything on the menu is awesome. My Favorite is the«Waffle Sandwich» which isn’t a sandwich at all. It is actually a Belgian Waffle, 2 slices of THICK cut Apple Smoked Bacon, and 2 eggs. Pure awesomeness. And their Waffle is NOT made with Pancake batter like some places do but an actual Waffle Batter. Dreamy. The Coffee is the bomb too, with a touch of vanilla creamer(gotta ask for it) but I could sit at their bar all day if Kay would let me. I can’t say enough about this place. If you haven’t tried it. Please do. it is a great place. Thanks.

As mentioned by most people their is a wait but they have coffee and tables outside. I have to ask though what is the deal on the central coast with the really weak coffee??? I mean 1 creamer almost over powers it! Can someone answer me the coffee mystery? I don’t drink it black but if it can’t handle 1 little dinky creamer it’s coffee flavored water. Sorry lets get back to Kay’s yes they have weak coffee too. Sigh The service? Our service was good the hostess was very pleasant, our server was super nice, efficient, very pleasant. No issues here. They also appeared to have enough staff to accommodate the number of customers. The food? Well —I ordered a Monte Cristo at least that’s what it says it was. I Love Monte Cristo And this was my least fav. The Man doesn’t like Them and he like this. They also didn’t serve any jelly with it #fail! There was a plus it was made with French Toast and that was actually good! I would order The French Toast and it’s my fav brekkie food. The Hash Browns were good albeit there was this brownie oiliness that was unsettling so if any regulars could please explain that one?! The browned went all through which made me think coronary waiting to happen. Yet, aside from appearance I enjoyed them. The Man and I actually swapped brekkie sad I could not eat my MC. So I ate his linguisa which was very good and his country fries were cooked well Red potatoes! Overall though I think the meal was a tad greasy but small diners tend to be that way. We would go back though if we are nearby and would recommend. The great central coast brekkie search is still on! **** I appreciate Kay’s response! Coffee mystery solved :) Thanks. That’s great customer relations! *****
