The Dr is fantastic, however, he can in no way make up for the woman running the office.
The receptionist is condescending, contradicts her own poor excuses for your glasses/​contacts taking Months to get there and then blames you for not answering the phone when she calls. She even tried to sell me her pyramid scheme skin care after lecturing me about not coming in right away when she got my contacts.
To top it off, I did not go in for contacts because She insists that I need some expensive brand that gives me migraines (the doctor told me I would be fine using the highest prescription in a cheaper brand) but I got charged for one anyway after the doctor started a contact consult by mistake.
It has now been over a year and I have received nothing but horribly thick, painful trial pairs that I can’t even wear. She has even had the audacity to leave me a 5 minute voicemail (in a rude and completely condescending tone that made me want to throw my phone) about how I wasn’t supposed to wear trials this long. I have told her repeatedly that I cannot wear the brand she keeps getting me and I have spent several months overall waiting for contacts to be ordered.
I can no longer return to this place because I cannot deal with this person anymore. I freaking paid for a service I didn’t want without complaint and this is how I’m treated. No thank you.
Avoid this place and you’ll avoid a year’s worth of ocular migraines.

I’m torn about this review. Dr. Scheffel is a nice Dr. and, while super chatty, did a great job during my fairly last minute appointment due to a very strange ocular migraine. I wish I could give more stars for him alone.
The extremely disappointment and downside to this Dr.‘s office is the poor excuse for an office assistant. She’s awful for a lack of a better word.
She’s rude, curt, and unprofessional. All while I’m being kind and respectful. She also took my medical information to submit a claim in hopes my insurance would cover my out of pocket expense for the exam, and that claim NEVER got submitted. So thank you, for wasting my time and for lying to me.
I will not be back again. Ever.
