We haven’t been to the current location yet; but the previous location on Simmons Drive had wonderful boudin and steaks. Robert M. We lost you when your Simmons location closed. Now that we know where you are, we’ll be there next trip through !

Parents wanted to go there since they’d been during the week lunch buffet. We went on a Saturday so there was no buffet. I got fish tacos. I didn’t realize it would be catfish but it was still good. The chips and salsa were good. Our waitress was really nice, and food came out really fast. The place is HUGE but it doesn’t feel like it since there are so many separate rooms.

This was our first time eating here and i did mention that to the male employee that gave us a table and menu, after that we waited no server came i had to ask a female employee. she apologize and talk to another employee who took our order and drinks. We ordered a 16 oz T bone steak and seafood platter both are very delicious and tasty, we will definetly come back here only if the misses decide to gamble in Lake Charles, LA.

The waitstaff was very friendly but as a New Yorker I think everyone I met in Texas was friendly. They start you out with warm bread and honey butter. I’m not going to rave about it; it was just bread and butter but was very tasty. The fried pickles and onion spears we had as an app were nothing special. Too heavily battered for my liking. It would’ve been nice to taste the pickles and onions. Ribeye and baked potato were both cooked perfectly. My friend had the chicken fried steak and loved it. He had the loaded mashed potatoes. He said it was good but it looked weak to me. The salad that comes with your meal is from a bag and the dressing from a bottle so don’t get too excited. Price is reasonable and had fresh coffee too. If I ever happen to be in Orange, Texas again I’d go back.

Staff was friendly. Chicken fried chicken was very good. Ordered the small or I thought. Thing was huge but so yummy. Rolls with sweet butter oh damn. Nice family dinning. Will go again.

The people were all very pleasant and the place was very busy… Which makes one understand that Orange County is sorely underserved. I ordered the chicken fried chicken at the behest of our waitress. What I got was frozen heavily battered, bland hockey pucks. It was accompanied by mashed potatoes and gooey bland white gravy. My wife ordered crispy chicken salad that had the same chicken fry. Bill was $ 30 with tip. The décor needs serious updating and cleaning. Can understand why the owners haven’t put any money into the place because they are very busy and charge premium prices. We would not go again.

Place was packed, kinda like a Lubys with an option to order from the menu. Will be back!

Locally owned & local favorite. Fast, friendly staff. Extensive menu and an EXCELLENT buffet line; it’s so hard to choose — it’s ALLSOTASTY! The beef tips in brown gravy are so tender, they melt in your mouth! Meat market & deli next door.

Terrible steaks that had no seasoning whatsoever. The salads that come with the entrees are horrible. Just tear up a little iceberg lettuce and throw a slice of red onion on top and that’s what you get. Will not be going there again.

We eat here often and visit the store/butcher shop next door. Best beef jerky I have ever had… good smokey flavor and more tender, not stringy. We like the steaks here and the baked potatoes. Steaks are tender and flavorful and cheap. Salads, not so much.

I have consistently wondered my entire adult life, while living in Orange, why people continued to «Rant & Rave» about Robert’s. I have eaten there limited times but its because my first experience was terrible and has continued since. A couple Unilocalers said this place had no atmosphere? They completely under sold it. Eating in a empty laboratory would be more exciting. Though I think I’ve noticed a trend with Roberts that few have picked up on. Only older people actually enjoy it. I’m not sure why though, maybe cause its rather quite and you can always get a table. But for anyone else, the food is barely edible, and I could make a better salad with a pack of envelopes, a paper shredder and some green spray paint. If your thinking of Robert’s, try and think about whats good about it, then decide.

No atmosphere to speak of. TV tuned to country music TV. Service was prompt and friendly. Fresh homemade bread and a dinner salad came with our steak and potatoes. Baked potatoes were done to perfection but came with imitation beacon bits. Steaks were done perfectly and tasted great. Prices were reasonable. Dessert options were limited. Food is good though nothing to write home about atmosphere is completely lacking this is why I only gave it 3 out of 5

I love Roberts! It’s one of the only places in orange you can get something other than Mexican. Food(yes they still have Mexican food but other stuff as well) their steaks are wonderful, so is the gumbo and chicken fried steak! I live I’m California because my husband is in the navy and I always make it a point to eat here when I come home! As a matter of fact iv been in town less than a week and have already eaten there twice!

Horrible service, waited 20 minutes for waitress to bring my drink, with no other customers around. Food was cold and waitress was rude, almost threw our food on the table. Save your money and go elsewhere, giving one star cause I can’t give less from the app.

My husband had the chicken fried steak and the middle was raw. Waiter was rude and pushy, though I believe he thought he was being funny. Will never go here again.

Imagine, if you will, a Steakhouse. OK. Get that out of your head. That is not what this place is. Yes, they have steaks. The steaks are not bad. The«Steakhouse» designation is just wrong, though. Along with a salad that consisted almost exclusively of iceberg lettuce, we were brought a bread board that you would expect to hold a fresh hot loaf of bread. It held two cold, packaged dinner rolls and a little paper cup of honey-flavored butter-like substance. Not very«Steakhouse.» For me, though, the thing that set them several steps below their lofty aspirations was on the baked potato. Imitation bacon bits. Seriously? Bac-os? In a Steakhouse? A steakhouse that is also a meat market! Geez, you get real bacon at IHOP. Roberts is a place where you can get a steak. It ain’t a Steakhouse. Service was decent. Very friendly.
