I’ve been here a few times. Good food, workers always nice. Reasonable prices, definitely recommend

Made my first visit to the orange circle and stopped here to grab lunch to go. Menu was on the wall above the register. It wasn’t at all comfortable to bend my head back just to figure out what they have on their menu. Ordered the carne asada plate to go. It cost about $ 10~11. Brought it back to the office and realized they didn’t throw in forks or napkins. Great start. I opened up the to-go container and was upset to see such a small portion. It felt like I had an appetizer or kids meal. For the price and quality, I would have rather have gone to El pollo loco. My mistake for not checking out reviews on Unilocal before coming in here, but I was limited with time. I will not come here again and would not recommend it.

Being new to the Orange Plaza, I’m always looking for good, reasonably priced food. Jalapenos fit the ticket, the al pastor burrito has revolutionized my midday dining experience. I recommend it to everybody that’s in the area.

If you want a good meal in a comfortable setting served quickly dine here. Food is Gringo Mexican but their Taco Tuesday is great! I like the al pastor tacos myself. Salsa bar allows you to customize your meal with mild, medium and spicy salsa and those wonderful pickled carrots. Large screen TVs allow you to keep up to date on your favorite sport while you dine.

This place is so yummy! I honestly think there are some pretty harsh reviews for the quality of the food. It’s extremely fresh! I’ve been coming here for years. All of my friends have tagged along with me to enjoy their yummy crispy tacos. Many of them come back on their own! None of us live in orange so to make the drive only means something. Anyways, come get the best crispy tacos around! Their honestly delicious!!! Btw they always have some kind of deals.

The food here is pretty good, but their prices are a little too steep for my taste. $ 8 dollars burritos looked like $ 5 burritos but the quality was still good. Anyhow, the place is okay if you want some Mexican food near chapman university.

Existing somewhere in the realm between a Sports Bar and a Mexican Restaurant this establishment serves the very good purpose of having tables available on Saturday and Sunday mornings when the community favorites have hour(or more) waits to get a table to have breakfast. First of all, and very important, you must put yourself in the right mindset to eat here. Number One: they don’t serve coffee. So, you can have water, a soda, or my preference, beer. Number Two: after you go up and order at the front counter you will need to get your own plastic utensils and napkins over to the side. Though they do bring your food, other than that, this place is pretty much self-serve. In terms of their food it is pretty good. Yes, the rice and the re-fried beans are your typical SoCal expected but their actual dishes; be it their eggs, their burritos, or their tacos are all interestingly good; i.e. spicy. The one downside to this place is that they only have one bathroom. So, there can be a wait. Overall, as long as you know what you are getting into, this place is pretty good.

Jalapeños earns a solid four stars from me. I’ve been enjoying this Mexican food for over 20 years, and was heart broken to see the Irvine location close its door after several decades. At least they still have a few locations so I can get my fix! I crave this place very often, and always get my go-to: the shredded chicken soft tacos! Make sure you ask for the shredded chicken, or else you will get grilled which is good, but does not compare in flavor and tenderness of the meat. Their salsa also has a unique flavor and consistency that can’t be beat. Thanks jalapeños for keeping me as such a loyal customer over the years. Que Sabroso!

After Disneyland, all I wanted was some chips and pico de gallo. We walked by Jalapeños and it was still open so we decided to try it. When I ordered, they didn’t have any pico so I was pretty sad. Instead, I ordered rice and chicken enchiladas and my husband ordered chicken tacos. We also got some chips. While waiting, we snacked on the chips and mild salsa and it was delicious! The chips were crispy but not oily. The salsa wasn’t pico, but it was fresh and slightly spicy. The rice was the best Mexican rice I have ever had. It was soft and moist when most rice is usually dry. We thought Roberto’s rice was the best, but Jalapeños’ rice blew them out of the water! My chicken enchilada was flavorful and the chicken was perfect. My husband loved his chicken tacos and he couldn’t stop saying, «this is sooooo good!» Not only was the food the best, but the staff were just as awesome. We walked in at 8:45pm and they closed at 9pm but they were more than welcoming and let us stay and eat until about 9:15pm. The place was very clean and spacious. The service was excellent and we can’t wait to come back when we’re in town again!

I love their nachos! One time I did get the chicken on them and there was a large bone I came across. I’ve just gotten them with no meat from now on. They have one of those soda fountains with a touch screen that is so fun to use! I add vanilla to my rootbeer! They also give you complementary chips and salsa!

So jalapeños used to have dollar tacos on Tuesday but they upped their prices. The tacos are good for a dollar, but if you go on a day that there is not a deal than its really not worth it. The staff is nice and it’s pretty fast food, but honestly there are much better options right next door.
