Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. They even broke up a large bale of alfalfa for me so it could fit in my car! The layout is great and you can tell that the employees really care about this shop. This is my new go-​to stop for my horse’s feed and supplies that I need on short order.

I went here a couple of days ago to pick up feed for my horse for the first time and they were great! Their prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly and knowledgable! They have some English gear for sale too, which is great!

I like it — My old feed store by the Honda Center stopped carrying the potbelly pig feed my girl loves & carried a brand she didn’t like, but tolerated. I decided not to be lazy anymore & locate a feed store that had the Ace Hi by State Milling Company — her favorite. My Daisy is back in business & is loving the return of her old food.
This store had it & the staff was nice to boot. I will definitely be going back to them.

Awesome selection, sparkling clean store and friendly sales staff! Even have complimentary tea and coffee for customers! My favorite shop for my horses’ needs from feed to tack and everything in between!

Friendly, helpful staff! Seems to be mostly a horse related feed store but they carry the chicken bedding I love, Koop Clean, which has been difficult for us to find!
Will be coming back for more when the two packages we bought run out. Didn’t really check out the chicken feed as we have plenty right now.
Thank you for carrying Koop Clean, I was worried we’d have to go back to Norco to get more!

I have been going exclusively to Hitch’n Post for hay for my bunnies for over a year now and the staff has always been helpful and courteous. I buy hay by the bale and they are one of the few places that lets me break down and re-​bag my hay. I try to go during their off hours so I don’t disrupt their business. One star less due to them not selling hay by the flake and large garbage bags like some other places. If more bunny people frequent them, I’m sure they would sell hay in larger bags, just make sure they know you are requesting this.

Amazing customer service and they carry so many types of feed! They even have a little coffee area in the store! After 3 years of terrible frustration, I stopped patronizing my local Yorba Linda Feed Store. Hitchin Post is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better! They even deliver on orders over 100 dollars. Love the new management and all the nice apparel as well.

I am THRILLED WITH THE NEW MANAGEMENT here! Wow! The place looks amazing, they always have everything I need and bring in items if they don’t carry something to ensure I get what I need. Cole and his team are polite, pleasant and easy to do business with. As a result, I have found myself only shopping here. I used to shop at Foothill Feed, and we LOVE Aundrea, but the loader there was always extremely unpleasant with a nasty attitude of entitlement (like I OWE him a tip) and we found him downright rude each time we would go in there! I found myself dreading having to pick up feed/​hay! How ridiculous?! Now that Hitchin Post has changed hands… it is a pleasant happy experience with happy loaders who don’t look at you like you are a pain simply because they have to move themselves and load your car!!!

Cole & staff are awesome! They will order what you need if not in stock. Remodel looks amazing and always feels good supporting our local businesses!

I have purchased from the Hitch’n Post over the years for equestrian clothing/​accessories and helmets. I stopped by last week for new riding pants for my daughter. Wow! the place looks great, super friendly woman who helped me out tremendously. I even had to bring the pants back and exchange them, no problem. The store is under new management, redecorated, reorganized and the staff was super.
I will definitely shop here exclusively.

Cole is a great help & has turned this place around! It’s so clean, stocked, & fun! Plus, coffee & donuts on the weekend while you shop? I’m sold!

Hitch’n Post Feed is under an ownership change and my equine friends and family are really looking forward to having our favorite local tack and feed store re-​open in the next week!

I usually do business with Foothill Feed down the street. But when they didn’t have a product I needed they suggested I call the Hitch’n Post. I have now called 4 times since this morning and not once did anyone pick up the telephone. I still need the supplies, but you can be sure my next phone call will not be to here.

They actually have a decent selection of tack and supplies were so helpful and nice! Prices pretty good too!

The plus side is that they have a cute, well-​maintained front store with a decent selection of tack and horse supplies, and some equine-​themed gifts.
The bad, horrible side is just what other reviewers here have mentioned – the customer service is beyond horrible, and they keep running out of feed without warning. The running out of feed I could forgive, but not the horrendous customer service. The young girls behind the counter are snotty, entitled and rude to people who are spending HUNDREDS of dollars a month. As a result of their attitude, we have stopped buying from them altogether. That means that thanks to the deplorable attitude of those girls, this business has lost about $ 4,000 or more a year from one previously dedicated customer. I wonder how much more those girls are costing them.
I’ve taken my money down the road to Foothill Feed. Not fancy, not perfect, but I’ve never had a supply issues from them, and i have never been disrespected.

I phone this morning at 9:05 ro find out if they have integrity with Timothy in stock this was the conversation… The phone ring they pick up… Hi…Me:Morning is this Hitcjhing post… They: Yes… do you have Timothy in stock… they: yup…
I will never go to this place again most of the time everything is out of stock I find the young girls working there very unprofessional like they doing you a favor helping you… Phone Canyon feed they are helpful and always professional

I went there to buy Timothy Hay. Their customer service is outstanding! He was very helpful when I called for information about their hay and the quality of it. Today when I called in, a lady said that she’ll call her hay supplier to let me know what cut the hay was. They go out of their way to help their customers, which I really appreciate! They’re really nice. The quality of hay is good too. Since I buy it for my rabbit, I store the hay in the garage and it lasts a good 10 months.

Seriously they are going more and more downhill.
While I might not live in the area anymore, I still have my horse at PHEC that I’m leasing out and my sister is looking after. So as always, we still have standing orders with PHEC as well as calling once in awhile to have special orders requested for delivery. Like before, they keep running out of stock but DO NOT TELL ME. WTF?! If I ordered it to be delivered tomorrow, why would you not at least call and say «Hey, we’re out of this item. Would you like something else, or do you want to wait until it comes into stock?» No, we have to wait until the next day to find out that it didn’t get delivered, then call to find out why. And more importantly, if I have a standing order, that means I need it on a weekly basis, so it’s even more important that you tell me that you’re out so I can get it elsewhere.
And when my sister and I went to visit the store a little before I left, so we could pick out some last minute things, we arrived 10 minutes before they opened. So we went and got a drink, and came back right at opening time. They still weren’t open, so we sat outside drinking our drink. A few more customers came over, we were all talking and waiting, and it wasn’t until 20 minutes later that they came and opened the door. Really? You open up 20 minutes late? And the girl didn’t even apologize to the five of us waiting outside for being late. RUDE.
I really don’t understand what is happening to this place. Maybe it’s the staff they’re hiring nowadays, but this is no longer the place it used to be. Sad to say it’s the only tack store around otherwise I’d be using another one already.
Only benefit is that it’s still the same delivery guy after all these years, and he still takes good care of us!

I don’t know what is going on this year, but I have an influx of flies like you wouldn’t believe on my patio! They are on the grass, on the trees, on the herbs, the dirt, the cement, my dogs, my wine glass (the horror!!), ME — it’s horrible! Every time I open the door to go out they come in — on Saturday I killed 10 flies inside of my house in a span of 15 minutes!
I read things online that I can do to get rid of them, I tried a few of the «natural» things and nothing was working. I read that fly spray for horses works. One of my friends owns horses so I asked her. She said the spray works great at keeping flies off her horses and she referred me to Hitch’n Post Feed & Tack. Off we went to find something that would get rid of the hundreds of flies!
They have a large selection of sprays. We were trying to read them all and kept seeing «hazardous to animals and humans.» I needed something safe for my dogs and safe for my plants — although at this point I was ready to let the plants die! I went and asked the girl working and she told me about two brands of spray that would be safe for everything. She also recommended a Quikstrike Fly Abatement Strip. Done and done.
A little over $ 50 later we had a two pack box of fly strips and a spray bottle of UltraShield EX Insect Repellent. Came home and sprayed. Hung the strip. Went back outside 15 minutes later and there were maybe 10 flies that I could see. This morning? None. I can also put the spray on my dogs to prevent the flies from landing on them when they are sunbathing, which is awesome!
Hitch’n Post was a little pricey. I have since found the same spray on Amazon for $ 13 cheaper. In the future I will use Amazon, but in a pinch this place was great! Plus it was really nice having a person tell me what products work rather than spending lots of time online reading reviews, hazards, and warnings.
