George’s Custom Tailoring & Men’s Clothing

This is hard to rate a 4. George is a 5 Star Tailor. His work is excellent. However you sometimes have to meet up with the chatty, annoying (sometimes obnoxious) front counter guy who fancies himself a comedian, won’t let you get out of there. For example, my total was $ 22.00 for some work and the counter guy has to tell me my total is $ 22,000.00. Haha. Real funny. There is hometown neighborly chit chat (which George provides) and there is the forced uncomfortable conversation you sometimes have to endure here. I will go nowhere else, but i do get a little nervous as i open the door and i spot… the counter guy. Dena l. is correct in her review. Almost every time you go to pick up your garment (even handing the counter guy the ticket with a corresponding number on it) it takes him a while to find it… and there is only about 20 – 30 garments hanging on the rack. The counter guy needs to spend more time ordering his business and less time working on his routine.

Awesome, they made me a customer was looking for a button to put on my suit that I have purchased a long time ago and I need the suit this evening and came by their shop by Google and found George’s custom tailoring and they found a similar button that is 99.9% match and sewed it on within a five minutes. And had me on my way and they have awesome customer service. I highly recommend this Taylor..

I was referred to this place by a gentleman who worked in the Nordstrom men’s shoe dept. I brought in a wedding dress I purchased online through Etsy. The dress needed alterations at the waist, bust, and train due to my pear-​shaped figure. All the adjustments I needed were done in one shot. No numerous fittings at fancy bridal salons that charge an arm and a leg. He did a great job and gave me a great price.

George is extremely helpful and talented at his craft. I’ve brought everything from jeans, slacks, dress shirts and suits to get altered here. I’ve been so happy with every piece. I now even have my wife bringing in her clothes that she needs adjusted. She too is happy with George’s work.
From entering the shop, George greets you with a warm smile and hello. You tell him what you need. He tells you to put on the item in one of the fitting rooms. Once you come out he begins assessing the alteration. Before you know it, he’s done. That’s it.
The pants I’ve brought in took a couple days. A suit that I bought at George’s shop took about a week. All turned out great.

I was referred to George’s Custom Tailoring by a friend. I had no reason to believe I would be as disappointed in this place as I am. I dropped a flower girl dress off last Saturday for a 3 inch hem. That was the only alteration that it needed. I was told I could pick it up the following Saturday. I called this morning to make sure the dress was ready for pick up. When I called, I was told it was ready. When I got to the shop, the gentleman couldn’t even find the dress. He kept asking me what I was picking up (clearly he was lying to me when I called to find out of my dress was ready).
At this point I was getting nervous that he somehow lost the dress. Another customer came in to pick up their pants and the owner couldn’t find those pants either. As he was looking for the other customer’s pants, he found the flower girl dress that I brought in. He asked if that was the dress I was looking for. Once I confirmed that it was, he said he had not gotten to the dress yet!!! He told me to come back later. I explained that I dropped the dress off a week prior and he told me the dress was ready. I had to take the other dress to another location to get some beading done and didn’t have time to come back later to pick up the dress. Especially since the wedding is 6 days away.
Needless to say, I left with my dress and will NEVER go back. I would never recommend this place unless you like your stuff sitting around, not being worked on!

George does great work! Been going to him for at least 5 – 6 years now. I’ve moved across the county and still find my way back to my trusted tailor.

I basically grew up living next to George’s shop and never thought I’d needed to go there. Things obviously changed once I noticed that dress pants and suits looked MUCH better tailored (thanks GQ magazine).
My first venture to George’s was quick, easy, and reasonably priced! George is the owner of this location (hence the name) and is extremely quick on assessing how much material to take off. He left me surprised at how quick, as in literally ONE minute, he managed to mark what needed tailoring. At first I couldn’t believe how fast he did it so I asked him «is that it?» He simply replied with a nice grin on his face «Yes.»
Knowing how reliable his work is, I went back to get a sport coat tailored to make the sleeves from a 38R to a 38S. He charged me $ 18 and I, once again, was on my way quicker than the time it took for me to find parking and enter his shop.
The tailoring took two days and when I received it back, it fit like I was made to be born into that jacket. Amazing work once again. I then asked him how long he has been tailoring and you know how many years he told me?
65 YEARS. This man is 82 years old. Started when he was 14 in Persia, then went to Armenia, then Italy, then Germany, and now he has made the United States his home for 33 years. No wonder his work is as if he crafts for the kings of Persia themselves. Congratulations on such a long and successful business George. You can expect me to continue directing people to your location. THANK YOU!
TL: DR, You want a GREAT tailor and not just a good one? Go to Georges’, even if you dont have anything to get tailored, find something just to see his work.
