Can’t really give a good review when stuff I ordered is missing when I get home. Unfortunately it was the quesadilla for my son which sucks the most. Maybe if my order was read back to me or if my cashier wasn’t trying to take calls at the same time that I was giving my order this could have been avoided.

I order 2 west coast tacos. And a cali Quesadilla And they are worse than Taqueria de Anda. My wife got the cali burrito. And all these guys give us a bunch of fries with cheese just couple pieces of meat. This was my first and last time I come to this place

I recently moved to Irvine from San Diego. One things for sure I miss SD burritos! Been here for 6 months I am happy to say I finally found a spot that has as good as the spots in SD. I ordered the carne asada burrito, the meat was perfectly seasoned and fries were on point. Everything was fantastic. One only gripe is that it’s a bit smaller than the burritos I’m use to. Other than that give it a try you won’t regret it!

So I just was in to get a couple of burritos with my boyfriend and when the girl at the counter brought them out, they were on a tray. My boyfriend mentioned that we asked for it to go and when she was turning around to put it in a bag, she dropped the burritos. She immediately asked another worker if we had seen her drop the burritos(my boyfriend saw it) and then said she was going to have them re-wrap the burritos. Two minutes later, we get the burritos and she stuffs some sauce in the bag and sends us off. I get home and notice the wrappers aren’t intact, there’s sauce spilling out the sides, and it’s just covered in sauce overall. If you’re going to just give me the burritos as is, why act like you did anything different in the first place? Suffice it to say, I am not pleased with the service or my burrito.

Giant, giant breakfast burritos. I got a potato and bacon breakfast burrito. It also had egg and cheese. This burrito needed its own zip code, it was so giant. Which is good. The salsas came in squeeze bottles and there were red, green and an orange-y colored one. The red and green salsas were amazing. Not a fan of the orange-y one. If you’re hungry at breakfast, this is your spot.

Wow! Very disappointed. First, if you know that lunch time is busy you should have more people helping. The Chola you have in the front counter was extra rude even when I told her this was our first time. I was thinking let’s wait for the food maybe it’s so good that the rudest behavior would not matter. WRONG! We live on Mexican food and must have eaten at hundreds of different tacos shacks, but this was yuk. The meat looked and tasted boiled, rice had to much Knorr spice in it and food just did not have flavor. Should have went to Taco Bell. They at least have standards.

Saturday night and nothing to do? Eat tacos! That’s what my family and I did and we got our fix from Cali Tacos. This place here probably isn’t the most traditional but it’s cheap(somewhat) and they give you a ton of food. We ordered several tacos, super fries and a veggie burrito. The bag it came in felt like 10 pounds! The tacos here aren’t your average mini ones that can be found at the regular taqueria. They’re almost burrito sized like. In fact, I’m pretty certain their tacos are the size of burritos at Taco Bell or Del Taco so it’ll get you full fast. I highly recommend getting the fish tacos and carnitas. Eat it when still warm and you won’t regret. You will regret it if you eat it the next day like I had too. There were leftovers because I wanted to fill up on the fries. They have smaller cut fries and are much better than Alertos or Alberto’s around the OC area. It doesn’t taste like a mountain of starch with pieces of meat in between bites. I asked for half chicken half carnitas but was denied. So the chicken was delicious. Can’t comment on the veggie burrito because I don’t live that type of life. My sister seemed to enjoy it though.

I was told Cali Tacos serves the best burritos in SD(skeptical but bookmarked any way). Decided to try this place out since we were craving burritos. We split the supreme burrito and the shrimp burrito. It was about 1:30pm when we arrived and starving since this would be out first meal of the day. The shrimp burrito was pretty good although I’m not sure how accurate my rating is since we were both super hungry. Moved onto the supreme burrito with carne asada and this was a disappointment. The meat lacked flavor and the guac +pico were both sub-par. They offer three sauces: red, green, and the cali sauce. The cali sauce is a creamier sauce. I love sauces and sauce has the potential to add so much to a taco/burrito. The sauces here were just extra calories. Not much spice from the red. The cali sauce is probably sour cream based? The carrots + jalapeños were good, though. Definitely not the best burritos in SD(or Southern CA). Perhaps the fries are more satisfactory?

This place reigns supreme as the BEST Cali-mex joint in the OC for me. Cali Tacos delivers the classic late-night Mexican food all people crave, but they execute it so well that you want it even without the drunchies! The only downside is the wait and limited seating. It’s hard to explain, but they just do it right. It’s not as greasy or grimey as the Alberto’s, Rigaberto’s, and Molca Salsa’s out there, and it’s just as — if not MORE satisfying. My Recommendations: — The«Famous» Angel Burrito: It feeds 2 – 3 people and includes shrimp, your choice of meat, fries, and the works. It’s a beast of a burrito! — Supreme Fries w/Carne Asada: Basically your classic«Super Fries», but their fries actually come out crispy. No more soggy fries! — The Cali Burrito: Classic noms for 1

Love this place. This is my first time here. The food is great! Good portions! And low price! I will definitely come back. And recommend those who have not tried it to give it a try! The 4 starts is for the small dining area. They have 5 tables with two chairs…

In the southwest of America, we are lucky to have all the various«–bertos» clones, which I believe stated with Alberto’s. If you want genuine tasting, gut-busting, Mexican food, fast, then these places will always be there for you. Sadly, the quality at each of these«–bertos» places is VERY uneven. Heck, even the Alberto’s joints have vastly different qualities, from location to location. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a place with the SAME menu, but MUCH better quality ingredients and service? Well, Cali’s Tacos is the answer. This place started out as a San Diego institution, and has since come to Orange County. I cannot properly explain how much I love the food here. It’s always consistent in quality and taste. I would come here once a week, if it was closer to me. The service is amazing too. My favorite choice of meat is the Adobada, which is never as good at other places. So, if you like your«–berto’s» clones, then I know that you’ll LOVE this place.

Located in a very unassuming plaza, Cali Tacos is not a place where you would think would have good food but it does. I tried the Angel Burrito and Supreme fries which they are well known for. You have your choice of meats which include carne asada, pollo asada, carnitas, or adobada. For both items, I picked the carne asada. Angel Burrito: 4.5÷5 The Angel Burrito was huge! It can easily feed 2 stuffed individuals or 3 very satisfied individuals. The burrito was stuffed with carne asada, shrimp, fries, sour cream, guacamole, and Cali sauce. I didn’t really taste the guacamole but it was definitely more meat filled which I prefer in burritos. Supreme Fries: 4⁄5 The Supreme Fries does live to its name of being supreme though! It’s a massive amount of fries overloaded with toppings of carne asada(my meat choice), cheese, guacamole, sour cream, pico, and beans. I thought there would have been some type of kick in it but sadly that didn’t happen. Instead, what you can use is their green sauce to spice it up. Now that’s when the whole combo worked together! Don’t forget to get some green sauce and the orange sauce. The green sauce is more of a lime flavor and the orange sauce is more of a chipotle flavor. Cali Tacos is a solid Mexican place to try out especially if you’re feeling very hungry.

The only thing I tried at this place was the Carne Asade Supreme Fries… and I think that alone was so good I can give this place 5 stars. Portion, toppings, sauces, etc… all of it made this the best carne asada fries I have ever had in my life. For $ 9+, this carne asade fries was perfectly enough for both me and my husband. We’ll definitely be back to try some of their other items that others rave about.

— Locale Destination — It’s on W chapman Ave and N Feldner Rd in Orange. Ambiance: very casual, super small inside, big outside seating, you feel cramped here. Service: Everyone raved about the creamy chipotle sauce. I made my food to go, so I was about to pack it by myself. She didn’t give it to me when I was about to pick it up to put some in the cup because she said it would come in my bag. They try not to provide too much I guess… Not friendly. Waiting time: Way too long for this type of food(thanks to full of young kids who know nothing about good food and only care about the big portion without knowing their spending more $$ in the end). Portion: Very big but you’re spending $ 10 on burrito. It’s better to be «big» at least. Taco is way too big. Not impressed as a whole. Parking: very small — Gluttony Expedition– Fish taco: $ 3.25 or something for one taco, which is like 2 tacos on the portion. It’s so big and so hard to eat without making a big mess. Highly recommended for non date. Fish wasn’t that crispy and very bland. «Hole Mole» in Tustin on Taco Tuesday provides you $ 1.25 for great tasty fish taco — half of the price here. Without so so chipotle sauce, it’s inedible. French fries: I’m super finicky about French fries because I love them. You rarely hit bad French fries at Mexican places — that’s the fact. They even make it with lard sometimes, which brings it to the A game. But not here ;(The shoe strings weren’t fresh nor crispy. I couldn’t continue to eat after a few bites. Avoid. — Conqueror’s Deduction — Overrated and way over exaggerating to call yourself the SD’s best Mexican place. I know too many places better than you in SD. San Diego got a lot higher standards on food and beers than OC for sure. Many of them are as good as the ones you get in LA. For that matter, this is a lot inferior to «Hole Mole» in OC. Besides the big size, nothing is memorable here. 2 star Mexican place on my book. Orange is clearly not a destination for the real foodies like me. I avoid looking for places to eat in this city as much as Irvine and Newport Beach. Just avoid. You’ll find a better place than this easily.

Yes, yes and a little more yes. Cali Tacos is where it’s at! If you’re into burritos the size of an infant & tacos the size of your hand, this is your place! But never fear, they do have regular size food too. When we pulled into the parking lot around 8:30ish(on a week night), they were visibly busy. Good sign, right? We had to wait probably around 10 minutes for our food after ordering, but I didn’t mind. I was hoping that was a sign that our food was being made fresh; and, no doubt, it was! For our first time at Cali Tacos, I had the taquito plate & a fish taco and my boyfriend had a shrimp burrito combo. His burrito was super yummy! The shrimp were cooked perfectly & he said he got shrimp in every bite. Win! My taquitos were smothered in guac & cheese, just how I like them. They were super crispy & the meat wasn’t overly dry or stringy. My fish taco was amazeballs. 3 huge pieces of fish on 2 corn tortillas with a generous topping of sauce, pico and cabbage. This taco was seriously huge, and seriously tasty. The only thing that I didn’t like was the portion size of the sides. You only get a tiny scoop of(delicious) beans & rice with the combos. I might ask for double sides next time, just for S’s & G’s. Our bill, with 2 drinks, totaled $ 20(and some change) Not bad at all, especially for what you get. I’m dead set on trying one of their monstrous burritos! I look forward to sharing that experience in the near future.

Once you’ve had authentic Mexican tacos and a true California Burrito from none other than in its original origin of San Diego, it’s hard to even come close! Cali Tacos proves to be a «go BIG or go home» type of food joint with their huge tacos and massive portions of fusion burritos! California Burritos and creative choices like The Angel Burrito(Shrimp, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Fries, Chipotle Sauce) are the main items along with their crazy sized tacos that made Cali Tacos explode with popularity! Although this restaurant is very small, it doesn’t stop the crowds from coming in. Sarita’s Tacos from San Diego created Cali Tacos as an addition in hopes of bringing that SD flavor and style to Orange County. All orders look as if they hit it right on the spot until you take a bite a realize that San Diego flare is missing. Their food is still appetizing but a bit of a disappointment. I’ve tried a few California Burritos in Orange County and this isn’t in the top. Everything including their Carne Asada Tacos are good, they just seem to be missing something to really make them stand out. SERVICE: 5 FOOD:3 RESTAURANT:3 TOTAL:3.5

+ Friendly service + Great tasting food! + Prices aren’t bad + Outdoor seating +/-Limited inside seating I’ve been here a few times to grab some dinner, and have always been a happy camper when I left. Maybe except one. but that’s another story. Their burritos and tacos., very very nice portion sizes. It’d be hard to leave this place feeling like you need more, because they give you more than enough. The burritos, awesome. If you want a challenge, try the Angel burrito. For some it may not be a challenge, but for most it is. And then their tacos, very big tacos and they surely don’t lack in taste. Service may be slow at times, but that’s because they’re usually busy. Worth the wait IMO.
