Orange Park Medical Center Express Care

While I have given rave reviews for both Orange Park Medical Center’s ER and Hospital (and will for their outpatient surgery), I can’t do it for their Express Care Department.
If something is going on like an ear ache and you know you just need a quick antibiotic, then go for it. Yes, you’ll be in and out of here much quicker than the ER, but be prepared to sit in a small, cramped room and have a rude doctor access you, not listen to you, and just generally act like an ass.
I have been here several times and so has my husband. Neither one of us will EVER use these services again, if we do need only a quick antibiotic. If either of us walk into the ER and they deem we should be at the Express Care after triage, we will very quickly refuse!
If you are in any type of pain whatsoever and need pain medication, you will not get it from any of the doctors here. They write prescriptions like Darvocet (if you ask me, Tylenol works better than Darvocet). If you are extremely lucky, and I do mean EXTREMELY lucky, you *might* receive a prescription for 10 – 12 tabs of Lortab 5. Don’t dare expect to get anything over a Lortab 5. Want a 7.5 or stronger? Haha — forget it! Now, I’m not abdacating doctors handing out narcs like candy, but seriously, if a person is in legitimate pain, a Darvocet is NOT going to cut it for anyone.
My advise? If you truly do not need an ER, then go to Urgent Care in Baymeadows.
They are seriously the best in Jax!
