We had heard rave reviews. But It was just okay. We might go back. But would try other places first. Can’t really say go or don’t go. It was just okay.

This review is for the snowbirds. Are waiter was Chase. He was excellent. We had the two can dine for $ 49 with a bottle of wine. Unless your are a wine coninsour the wine list is great. My husband had the shrimp fettuccine had 12 large shrimp. I had the shrimp and crab augratin. 12 shrimp here too. Plus a salad and baked potato. We had the twice baked. Best I have ever had. My husband does not like twice baked but he said it was delicious. The portions are unbelievable. We asked about sharing. They charge $ 4 extra each gets a salad and potato. More than enough food. Don’t pass this place up

We stopped here for dinner. We had the Cajun seafood gumbo, Louisiana crab cakes, and shrimp and grits. The crab cakes did not have any filler and we loved them. The seafood gumbo was not spicy and was mixed with oysters. The shrimp and grits is served with shrimp and cheese grits topped with Tasso ham cream sauce. The Tasso ham gives a spicy taste. This was the first time I ever had cheese grits and I loved it. The restaurant is along the harbor so one has a good view of the water. The service was good and the waitress took the time to explain how to make plain grits into cheese grits. I do recommend this restaurant.

This place has so much character and ambiance– its definitely a more formal and grand atmosphere relative to other places in the area, but it maintains the beach feel and it isn’t stuffy. The food here is always delicious and portions are huge. We were a group of 6 and sat comfortably at one of their long tables. I ordered the Grouper Pontchartrain and it was delicious. a large fried soft shell crab on top of a good portion of grouper. The honey roasted nuts are the perfect addition. The plate was large, but the meal wasn’t heavy. I would definitely recommend this dish or even order it again(a bold statement for their menu is full of mouth watering dishes). This wasn’t my first visit to Louisiana Lagniappe, and the service and food are consistently of high quality. I would suggest this dinner here to anyone traveling in the area.

Absolutely delicious, wide variety of seafood, reasonable prices and excellent service. Had the parchment paper grouper stuffed with crab meat, which I’d highly recommend. Waitress was excellent and the environment, indoor and outdoor, was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and return when I’m back in the area.

After having such a horrible experience the night before at Live Bait, Louisiana Lagniappe was a breath of fresh air! We walked in on a Saturday night on Labor Day weekend, after a few other restaurants had over 2 hour waits, and we were greeted with smiles and seated within 5 minutes. My mom even asked if we could have a table by the window for 7 people at 9:00 pm and the very friendly manager said«no problem» and made it happen. Our waiter, Mike, was the best. He was very friendly, informative, and patient with us. We never once had to call his attention for refills or anything because he was very attentive. My mother’s steak came undercooked to her liking and he immediately brought it back and came back with a perfect one not too long after. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was amazing and the service was excellent, we will be coming back on our next trip.

Dined here with a party of 10. If you are a young middle class family of say 4 on vacation for 3 or 4 days in the Gulf Shores area I would steer clear of this. M ost young families probably will get sticker shock and rather than walking out, order the cheapest meal and talk about how high it was. Save your money for a place for the family to enjoy. For a couple celebrating or retirees spending your grandchildrens inheritance, party down Otherwise the meal was good, excellent service, was a little loud in the large dining room. Meal for 2, no drinks was $ 60

We went here to celebrate our anniversary. We are vacationing with our two children, so we decided to go around 5:30 to avoid the rush. We ordered two appetizers which included the bbq shrimp and lobster rangoon. My wife went to the restroom shortly after and our appetizers had already arrived… Probably about 5 minutes after ordering. For the price the apps were very weak. The bbq shrimp included 6 – 7 pieces and they were very small. The BBQ sauce was not that great. BBQ shrimp is one of our favorite dishes and this sauce or oil was not typical or spiced with much flavor. The lobster Rangoon was not what I was expecting. There was not any visible lobster pieces and the sauce was a beige color… For entrees my wife and I shared the bayou grouper and the filet. The grouper was cooked perfectly but the sauce was very salty and heavy. Did I say salty? The filet was cooked medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly! Very nice red center. However it was very oily, but that didn’t stop my daughter from steeling as many bites as she could. All and all it was ok. Which means it was disappointing. We spent about $ 180 with tip… We had two apps, drinks, and two kids meals(which were about $ 10+ with soft drinks). The most disappointing part was the fact that our entire meal experience only lasted one hour, and that included not ordering our entrees untilI we were totally done with our appetizers. There are not a ton of high end restaurants down on this end of the Gulf Coast. I think this place is just average at best. I give love to the server for the awesome service and the chef for cooking our food perfectly. The downside is the recipes, and the ambiance or dining experience. Eat Well, Jeff

My favorite restaurant! I’ve been here every year for 6 years and thin place never disappoints. The special, grouper, filet medallions, crab cakes, salad, shall I go on. All is fantastic. Laid back atmosphere but worth dressing up and having a nice family dinner.

The ambiance was nice. We sat at the bar and had dinner. The scallops as an appetizer along with the corn and crab bisque was yummy. The blackened grouper and the shrimp fettuccine were good coupled well with a salad. All in all the food was fresh cooked as promised, but the seasoning for a Louisiana style dish was lacking. Good experience, but bring your salt and pepper!

We had our wedding reception here after a beach wedding and everything was perfect and they worked around all the things we needed with the cake etc… My wife and I were so glad we chose LL and will definitely return when back in orange beach. Recommend grouper pecan and lagniappe stuffed shrimp as well as any of the signature cocktails!

We had the most wonderful dinner and family time there on Monday night. We were enjoying a very special dinner with my husbands mom, his sister and her husband and close family friends. We were greeted by a wonderful staff and our table waitress genie and awesome host, Brett., Were beyond fabulous. Beyond the happy, light hearted atmosphere was a sense of family and good times. I enjoyed a wonderful appetizer of baked eggplant and a nice Chardonnay. It was almost too good to share, the eggplant that is. Then moved on to an incredible entrée of blackened grouper, topped off with crabmeat and a meunière sauce accompanied be a light hollandaise sauce. It was magic on my plate. Almost like a painting it wrapped my senses in an incredible treat. This dinner was about family and good memories. It will never be forgotten and we will be visiting Louisiana lagniappe again.

Everything was served with grouper when we went, but it was pretty good. There’s a small outdoor area right on the marina which is fun. It was pretty crowded for a Thursday night and our waiter was friendly but seemed stressed.

The Louisiana Lagniappe is a wonderful place if you are looking for a peaceful yet in-town restaurant, with outstanding views. A bit pricy for a family not looking to spend a fortune on food a kid might not even like. The inside décor is very laid back… but fancy at the same time. If you are looking for a more scenic view, be sure to sit outside, being right on the marina and all. Service was fast easy and friendly. They start you off with complimentary hush puppies, which were a bit on the dry side. The apps were excellent but like everything else on the menu, very pricy. The entrées were what made me give this restaurant 4 stars. It was quite disappointing after the wonderful appetizer. Our fish was a bit on the dry side, and the portions were very large. You can’t really come here without eating the seafood. The desserts were some of the best I’ve ever had!!! That’s saying a lot. The bread pudding was absolutely cooked to perfection. I ordered the Crème brûlée, it had the perfect caramelized sugar top and the custard was amazing. All in all, Louisiana Lagniappe is certainly the place to go if you are willing to spend the extra buck.

Returned for Sunday brunch. It’s a winner. Complimentary hot beignets &99 cent mimosas! All the makings of a perfect brunch. I went with the smoked salmon Benedict. The English muffin had a dill cream cheese layer and that definitely took the meal to a whole other level. Perfectly poached eggs and a hefty portion of salmon. Only changed i would make is MORE hollandaise(but i’m a hollandaise fanatic). I was full halfway through eating but couldn’t stop because it was so good! Brunch was moderately busy, but not noisy at all. Food comes out well timed and you’re not rushed one bit. My server Monika was attentive and friendly and i’d love to have her again next time I return.

Had high hopes for this place reading some of the reviews. In the end I was disappointed with the food quality for the price we paid. Atmosphere: little outdated and very, very loud. Had a difficult time carrying on a conversation at the table. Patrons average age was over 50 and they seemed to be enjoying themselves! Service: very friendly and they were constantly moving for an average night of business. Staff’s knowledge of the wine and menu could use some help. Their timing could be better and they need a little polish –especially considering the price of the entrees here. Drinks: selection was basic at best but the choices were decent. Again it would be consistent with a restaurant at $ 20 a plate not $ 30-$ 40. Food: the seafood was fresh and cooked to the proper doneness. Sauce flavors were simple and lacked any depth. Almost tasted like the hollandaise was made from a packet and not freshly done. Again, the theme here is not bad for a $ 20 a plate dinner but for $ 30-$ 40 I expected much more. Bottom line: may try again but you can get equal to if not better quality in the area for less $$$.

This place is always good. Sitting outside for brunch makes the overall experience even better. We shared the Grouper and it was excellent.
