Western Sizzlin Steak & More

This is a very incredibly clean restaurant. The service was nice with our waitress checking in on us but not hovering. The salad bar was excellent. They put out more Romaine while I was getting mine and it was very fresh… usually the lettuce is brown and limp most places I go. My steak was cooked a little more than medium rare, but not bad. My mom always wants her steak burned and they pleased her (unusual for anyone to get it as done as she wants). I didn’t eat dessert, but they looked delicious and had a huge variety. My parents love the desserts there.

Terrible experience last time. Last time has been long ago tho. I got bloody raw chicken off the buffet. Told the waitress and watched. They just took mine and thru it away. Never removed the rest from the bar. And my 3 yr old got some soup that wasn’t warm. It had her throwing up before we even left the table. It was terrible. I wish I would’ve paid up front cause it was terrible to have to pay after such a bad experience. We won’t be back

My wife and I ate here tonight for the first time even though we’ve lived close by for a year and a half. I’ve been wanting to try it all along but figured it was a little pricey for my vegetarian wife and my daughter that eats like a bird but would have to pay full price.
We sent the kids to a party tonight and I learned that if you download their app, you get a $ 5 coupon for your first visit.
I was much happier with my meal than my vegetarian wife, There was plenty for her to eat, but she just wasn’t thrilled with the quality of what she could eat.
I was very pleased with the seafood on the Friday night bar, especially the baked salmon.
I’d be happy to go back again but I might be dining solo.
I must add that the service was excellent. She did a wonderful job clearing plates and refilling our drinks.
Also, I was impressed with the building. As we walked up, I wondered if the building is fairly new. I’m so used to those type places being in older, beat up, dark buildings. It was very clean, well lit and well maintained inside.

The staff was great, everything looked very clean, it looked like a slow night so the food bad didn’t seen very fresh but thier salad bar is worth the money and dessert was good

When you finally get tired of all the buffets out there that just taste bland and like you’re eating a bunch of bad foods that taste the same, this is the place to go! Great quality buffet food!!!
The crispy fried chicken has a real southern home taste, creamed potatoes, corn on the cob, livers, Brussels, cabbage, meatballs breads, and so much more. This place definitely hits the spot.

Great service! Salad bar is awesome and the fried chicken taste great with some gravy on top like country fried chicken! A step up from golden coral!

Located off the main road through Ooltewah across from the Bi-​Lo. This place has a large parking lot and we had no issue parking.
Arrival: ~6:00 PM
My wife and I came for dinner with my parents and our three year old. The place was a little crowded for dinner but, being the start of the holiday weekend, we weren’t surprised. We were able to order and get to our tables in the Montana room, a room you pass as you go through the main line to get drinks and order. We were completely alone.
This place is huge and could probably hold 300 people.
We all ordered the dinner buffet to include the salad and hot food bar with desserts. Senior buffet prices only run for lunch; however, they do offer seniors 10% off the entire dinner ticket. They offer complimentary baked potatoes, which the servers bring out with fresh baked rolls. We usually have no problem getting either but our server forgot to bring the potatoes this time.
My salad ingredients were fresh and tasted as expected. I had baked chicken, and fish, which were also acceptable. I also had some creamed corn and pinto beans.
My family had the fried chicken and liked it.
My wife said their sweet potatoes are hit and miss. The last time we were there, the ratio between marshmallow topping and potato was perfect. My wife said this time there were too many marshmallows and not enough potatoes.
My father stated that the fried livers were excellent.
My three year old annihilated his olives, fruit, corn and chicken. Children under 5 eat for free.
Most everyone got dessert and was happy, except the chocolate loving wife who actually turned her nose up at the chocolate cream pie.
The food here isn’t the type of food that normally merits high marks and recommendations but if the family is hungry and you want a balanced meal, then this place is good for you.

I’m surprised at the other reviews. I would never choose to return to this restaurant. Overall, the food was ok; not great, but ok. The salad bar selections were good; the fish and fried chicken were crispy outside, moist inside, but too salty for my taste. The bbq ribs were ok, but nothing to write home about. The desserts were classic buffet fare. I wouldn’t return because of the stressful challenge of getting through the initial part of ordering. The «menu» is written in such a way that it is almost impossible to understand. Having never eaten there before, we naturally asked a lot of questions. The young woman at the register may have been new and we confused her as much as the menu confused us, but that doesn’t excuse her extremely rude behavior. It felt likre bootcamp by the time we got our plates. Then we had to wait for at least 20 minutes, maybe more, before we asked about the two steaks that were ordered. The waitress went and found them, but who knows how long it would have been if we hadn’t asked. Our server was friendly enough, but didn’t clear the table until we were finished and the plates had been stacked in piles all over the table. I have eaten at buffets in a number of states and know that they’re not haute cuisine, but neither should they be an ordeal with so=so food and service.

This is my second favorite restaurant to eat at on Ooltewah. I almost always go for lunch and get the roundup which there is a ten minute time limit to get it out to you or it is free. It is only about $ 6 too.
Their steaks are best for price and quality combined. The steaks are always cooked just like we want them. I get mine well done and put A1 steak sauce on it to make a mouthwatering great tasting come back and get it attitude for the most part.
The customer service is always superb and they take care of us.

Good food. Occasionally they will not season a vegetable, but overall a good value.
