I’ve come to expect the delays on these long-haul, multi-stop Southwest flights(the flight originated in Phoenix, and after Oakland, it was going to Baltimore); but when the delay is caused by a last-minute pilot switch-out and nothing else, it’s annoying. The gate agent was reading very slowly and deliberately, as if it were her first time. Many passengers found this extremely funny. I was offended for her, and then I just felt sorry for her, so I guess I’m really no better than my peers. We were all snug as bugs in a rug in our seats for a quite a while before we taxied. The new pilot wasn’t very communicative. People were rushing out when we reached the gate. I’ve seen it before, but I don’t get used to it. I understand if you’re near the front of the plane and don’t have bags, but when you’re in the back and you’re lugging a huge bag? You’re going to run into someone, and that someone is going to say something to you. People are just so rude. The half-hour delayed stretched out to 45 minutes. Why, Southwest, why? In other news, they’re not shilling for SeaWorld anymore, and that’s wonderful.
