Came up to Oneonta, NY from Washington, DC to visit my son. We didn’t book a hotel ahead of time and only 5mins away from him were Marriott, Super8, and the Budget Inn. The Marriott was to expensive for me being as though we were apartment hunting, and although feeling a little skeptical about the Super 8 we decided to try it out I was able to get a double room for only $ 80 at this price people always say you get what you pay for, and to my surprise we were very happy with the room. Hardwood floors, super soft beds, and nice décor. I also find out that they are now under Wyndham Suites. I would recommend this motel.

Okay. this is a Super 8 not the Ritz. I am giving it 5 stars because for the price I paid this place was CLEAN. Stayed in an updated room and although it was not luxury I did not worry about bugs or dirt. The staff was very friendly & made me feel comfortable. Bonus that there is a Denny’s next door. We don’t have those where I live and it made me remember when I was a kid! The washer/dryer helped out as son was playing at Allstar Village. Television worked great. hot water great internet easy &FREE! Room smelled clean(nonsmoker) AC worked well. Ate cinnamon rolls every day. yikes put on a pound! really good cinnamon rolls… Linda, Heidi, Wendy & crew work hard.

Front desk was friendly. Gave us a late check out(until noon) though they technically aren’t supposed to do so. Smoking room definitely smelled like a smoking room, which(even as a hardcore smoker) is pretty gross. However, the room was clean — the bed was comfy — the water was hot — the heat worked & the Internet was freeeeee! Close enough to town and much cheaper than everything else around — Overall, a deal.

Stayed at this hotel for Baseball HOF weekend just because of the price. It was affordable 2 nights stay compared to some of the other hotels in the area. It is easy to get on and off the 88 highway. Easy ride to Cooperstown Main Street. In a good location in terms of restaurants and places to get food. There is a Applesbee’s across the way along with a Subway and a McDonald’s and Burger King. There is also an Denny’s on the premise of the hotel. There was also a Walmart Super Store a little ways down the road as well as a Dollar Store. In terms of the actual hotel room. It was nothing special. The Internet was hit or miss and did not even work on my mac but it worked on my boy friends PC. And it did not work all the time even on the PC. The room smelled a little musky. But for the price we paid it was just okay. The room was spacious and it had a lock box to lock up your valuables if you had them. The free breakfast included was not very good, it was just muffins and bagels and juice and coffee. Overall the location is great and it was a decent hotel for the money spent but I would not recommend it to a friend.

I was visiting Oneonta, NY for a college alumni event. The Clarion Hotel(which is pretty good for the area) was full, so we went with the Super 8. Sigh. When we called, we specifically said«What do you have that can accommodate five people?» We were told that the property had suites with two bedrooms(each with a full/queen) and then a living space with a pullout couch. That matched our needs perfectly. When we arrived with those same five people, were told that such suites do not exist. We were given a room with one queen bed, and one twin — not enough for our group. I thought I’d be a gentleman and sleep on the floor so my friends could have couches/bed. At 4AM, my back surrendered to the concrete and industrial carpet, and I went down to ask the front desk if there was anything they could do. After discussing it for nearly 15 minutes(and, quite frankly, begging), the night clerk let me into another place, which was a smoking room. I didn’t smoke at the time, but now smoke 5 packs a day. The next morning, they tried to charge me for this 3 hour excursion. I declined to pay. ****Breaking News — We are about to go from bad to absurd!**** We go into the main bedroom. There is a TV on top of a dresser in one corner of the room. It is plugged in to an outlet all the way on the other side of the room, with the cord around waist height! I can’t figure out why it wouldn’t be plugged in to the outlet right next to it. Written on the outlet, in permanent marker, were the words«Don’t fuckin work.» I will upload this picture for your amusement. Long story short, it took me THREE weeks to hear back from a manager despite literally 10 phone calls. The charges for the room were ultimately reversed. Had it been done in an apologetic manner I would have given them two stars at least, but they were incredibly rude. They actually accused me of making up this entire thing. Until I sent them the outlet picture… heh. Oneonta, NY is a safe and fun college town of 12,000 in upstate NY. If you are there and every other hotel, motel, and trailer park is full, then go buy a tent and sleep outside. It will be nicer, and nature always fuckin works.

What a dump. This property is usually packed with visiting students or returning alumni who will have no problem keeping you up until 4am. Loud, ratty and potentially dangerous too. Avoid.
