China 19

China 19 is hands down the best Chinese place in town. I’ve ordered online, over the phone, and in person and they always get it right. Not to mention, their prices are the best in town, something super important to me as a college student. Great food at cheap prices with friendly service, what more could you ask for? I highly recommend ordering from here!

Ugh. Why do people like this place so much? I don’t remember it being so bad years ago but I recently moved back to the area and gave it 3 tries. The meat was the lowest grade of Chinese food chicken I’ve ever had and if the menu item said it was crispy, it never was. I wanted to like it. I really did. But it was just terrible.

Their food taste & quality is hard to find anywhere else but their staff leaves much to be desired. The staff certainly does not go out of their way to please.
I recently went there with two other people. We asked for chop sticks with our food, they weren’t brought. We ordered sushi, small bowls for dipping weren’t provided and sushi wasn’t brought out until after we had almost finished our main meals. Napkins weren’t brought. One appetizer was not up to expectations and was uneaten — had to insist that it was removed from the bill because they wanted to charge me for it.
Ate again a few weeks later — drinks for all 3 people were forgotten. Again, no extra napkins were brought to the table.
Try #3, ordered food to be delivered. Food arrived smelling strongly of cigarettes (I don’t smoke and it was very offensive & strong while I was trying to eat). I ordered pancakes, the menu says 8 in an order and they cost $ 3.95. They sent one soft taco sized (yes, that small) pancake cut into 4 pieces for that price. I called and told them they forgot ½ the order. They said no, they usually cut it into 8 pieces. For $ 3.95? Really?
I think I am done with them for now. Until I have a craving for Chinese of course, which can’t be satisfied by anything other than their deliciousness. I’ll be trying the new place in town however. Great staff may make up for a small lack in flavor.

When I attended SUNY Oneonta, I had Chinese food for the first time ever and it happened to be from China 19. I had no idea that it would set such a high standard for Chinese take out. When I transfered schools and moved to Albany, nothing compared to China 19! I’ve never been able to find pork fried rice or beef lo mein as savory or as satisfying or well cooked (always the perfect consistency, never tough or underdone). I make sure to stop in every time I’m near Oneonta, and they never disappoint! I’ve been a customer for the past six years and I have no plan to stop going. The friendly service, the low cost, and the quality of the food (the best comfort food, in my opinion) will always keep me coming back.

Fun place. Good food. Nice lunch menu. Super friendly staff that made everyone very welcome. Large portions so leftovers are a definite.

As a student at SUNY Oneonta, I have only had a pleasant experience with China 19 and their service. Served my needs perfectly although some dishes could be improved.
Anyway, I don’t have many complaints and even meals that I seem to dislike that they make (due to loyalty of a chinese food place at home) my friend orders because it is her favorite dish here.
The Pad Thai dish here is very similar to that of the thai food restaurant across the street and is convenient to order with your friends and even online. Plus, they have a lunch special until 3pm.

The food is tasty I don’t depend on delivery and just get it to go. Garlic chicken was good. The shrimp toast is really good with big pieces. The wonton soup was just so-​so. Trying the egg drop soup tonight. The egg drop soup is much better than the won ton soup. Shrimp toast still goiod!

The food is good but I’ve stopped ordering delivery because of how often items are forgotten. Drinks and sauces are consistently forgotten from my orders and ordering from them became more frustrating than it’s worth.

Listen, most of the food is your typical Chinese food. My sister and I love to come here for pretty good, cheap sushi. I am writing this review solely to let everyone know that the steamed vegetable dumplings here ARE AWESOME.

I’ve been going to China 19 for the past year. Every single time I order for either take-​out or delivery they leave something out. Without fail. Egg rolls. Soda. Soup. Tonight it’s two egg rolls. I order using the Eat24 app and paid with Paypal. Tonight I ordered dinner to bring to a friend 45 minutes away. When I opened the bag I see (shocker!) they left out two egg rolls. I called like I always do and I get the same pushback from the (I’m assuming) owner. First she can’t find my order. Then my order doesn’t say (enter missing item). Then when she finds it she asks me «What do you want me to do about it?» I ALWAYS ask she refund my money. She ALWAYS tells me «no» and that I should come get the missing item. I’m 45 min from Oneonta and not driving back. She told me to come in tomorrow and pick them up. The people working there need to stop texting and pay attention. How hard is that? Next time I want Chinese I will drive to Cooperstown and go to China Wok. They are excellent.

My wife and I never have had any issues with the food here and would recommend it as a good takeout option, if they could only get their orders right. Missing rice, missing egg roll, entire side dishes. etc. How can they be in business this long and still not be getting orders correct? This makes them not a reliable choice. Frustrating.

Food is good but delivery is a serious problem. Often times things are forgotten or wrong. Food in restaurant is entirely different (better) than when delivered. The platter/​sampler is good minus the (fish?) Mostly everything is decent but to truly experience the food from the source you need to go to the actual restaurant. Order from here often and would again but them forgetting Snapple ⁴⁄₅ times over several years gets a bit redundant.
Bonus is you can order online at Eat24 which is very convenient and helpful. Wish they would add pictures as not all of us know the dishes well enough to make new choices on food we would like to try.

My boyfriend and I tried eating in. The service was ok. They had some crisps and sweet sauce sitting out to on which to munch before the food arrived. You could tell it had been sitting there for a while. Gross. The tea was good as was the food. I had general tso’s and the boyfriend had duck. They don’t serve crab rangoon, which is my favorite. I’ve heard great things about Number 1 Chinese restaurant. I’ll try there in the future.

This place is terrible. After ordering delivery subpar once, I decided to give it one more try. I’m still not sure why I decided to risk sushi but I did and it was worse than expected. Made with dry rice and fish of questionable freshness, it had no redeeming qualities. I guess I got what I paid for? The Chinese menu isn’t much better with tough meat and excess oil. Try nearby No. 1 Chinese instead.

The new restaurant set-​up is very nice and the food is very good as well. It is the place to consider if you are looking for Chinese in the area

I have been back to the restaurant twice since they moved and have to say I am a fan now. Both times the service was great and the food was much more flavorful. Not sure what they did, but it’s much better!
