Being from the Seattle area, we were anxious to try this bistro for its seafood menu. We were not disappointed. While the Scallops were a little small for their discription, they were well executed. My tuna and the fish tacos were also excellent. My sister loved the fact that fish tacos had plenty of Salmon in them. Our appetizers were very good as was our dessert. The Nanaimo bars w er e a little sweet. The wine and beer selection was excellent. Our server, Candace, was wonderful. She was knowledgeable and attentive. We will certainly return to try the non seafood menu in the future!

I am from Seattle and was so excited to come and pay $ 40 for perfectly cooked salmon. It was dry. I was not happy. Unfortunately, most Nebraskans like it that way. We haven’t returned. We didn’t complain, as it was our 8th anniversary. I’ve had so many chefs return with raw salmon in Nebraska if I say anything, so we just went with it. This was a few years ago, but I can’t believe no one has mentioned they can’t cook salmon properly. My husband said his food was o.k. The atmosphere is nice, but it was overall a huge let down. I was expecting this to be equivalent to restaurants I love in Seattle.

Went there for New Year’s eve with a large group. We mistakenly made reservations for 7 instead of the 8 that showed up. The waitress was really accommodating about this. The service was awesome and everyone was friendly and in a good mood. I shared a cheese plate and the lahvosh with a friend. The bread on the cheese plate was amazing– warm and crispy. All the cheese options were very mild so if you like strong cheeses, this probably will not do it for you. The lahvosh was delicious, and a great option for those who do not eat meat. I don’t think this place is vegan friendly though(especially for dinner.) A nice place to go with a friend on a lazy Sunday lunch to sip wine and eat some good food.

Great, unexpectedly PNW-themed restaurant in Omaha. I liked the décor and the friendly service on new year’s eve. Craft beer list was small but impressive.

Came here with a big group of friends for New Year’s Eve. The waitress was helpful and patient. Prices are reasonable and the drinks are very good. I got the small plate salmon and it was delicious. The setting was hip.

I’m still thinking about our stop at the Twisted Bistro. On a road trip like this all sorts of food are for us to try but always looking for a good Unilocal recommendation we chose to stop here for a late lunch at 3pm. The coolest place inside. Dark, warm hues on chairs and tables gives off that inviting ambience of a true wine bar. The promise of a tasty burger was the obvious choice as it was voted by the Food Network as the #1 Burger in NE. It’s called T. C Burger. $ 12. While waiting for the burger I read up on their history. They’re from Seattle. Opened up in 2008 and six months after lunch was offered in addition to being a wine bar. So far so good. Then my burger came. Looking good on that plate. It’s smaller than I thought it would be. Ok forget about the size I told myself. Eat! So I did. Off night? Well I’m not a believer of off nights or days. The burger was bland. Was the salt and pepper shaker a sign that it’s how they serve their food? Bland? I. Want. My. Food. Tasty when served. I don’t want to add salt to it. The burger was described as grazed beef, pork and spices/dead guy mustard/pickled sweet onion /Whidbey slaw /Le quartier butter bun. And a side of chips. So you see with this description my hopes were even raised higher. The pickled sweet onion stood out since the burger was bland. Not good. I didn’t order pickled sweet onions. I ordered a burger. Anyways with a heavy heart I rate them a 3 on the burger and a 5 on décor. Although I’d prefer a switcheroo anytime! I saw Adam reach out for the salt and pepper shaker and was quietly seasoning his food. So whatever he ordered must be bland too. Sweet staff. But the chef? Please taste your food. Salt. One cheap ingredient that’s missing. I’m sure you can think of more than salt to make a tasty burger. So I mostly rate a restaurant for food and not décor. Meaning that’s where my 3 stars is coming from.

Went here with a friend and had a fabulous time! Atmosphere is relaxing and warm. They made a great Moscow Mule. We got Laura’s Lavosh for appetizer. Please get it, you won’t be disappointed! My friend got fish tacos and I got their signature burger. Both were made literally perfect! The food was presented beautifully on our plates. Coming here was a real treat because I felt I was getting quality food and got a wow factor when our food came out. The chef came out and asked how our food tasted, so we asked him what we should get for dessert. He suggested homemade ice cream and a peanut butter bar(I think it was a bar, I do not remember) It was delicious. I left this place with a smile on my face. I will come back!

Have you tried the new plate special little bit of salad little bit of rice and excellent piece of protein maybe fish made steak just the right amount of food. If you haven’t tried it you need to, this place is figured out what it means to be a restaurant in Omaha and has the finest wine and beer to go along with it way about fair!

What a great little spot! So cozy, warm, and welcoming! Wonderful wines from the northwest and a great beer list too. We started off with Laura’s Lahvosh. Basil pesto, sun-dried tomato, artichoke, havarti, mozzarella, and goat cheese. Delicious! Then a bowl of the corn chowder. It was warm with a hint of spice from the green chilis and cumin. So yummy! For dinner I had the Honolulu Cobb which was seared wild jumbo shrimp with mango, avocado, bacon, tomato, Maytag blue cheese, macadamia nuts, on a bed of lettuce with lime jalapeño vinaigrette. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the flavors of everything in that salad together were so good. One person in my party had the macadamia-Panko crusted mahi-mahi and she loved it! She has had it in Hawaii many times and said this was as good as it was there. Very fresh and cooked very well. We ended with the Ghirardelli truffle cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Very good. We also tried the Nanaimo bar. It was very rich and not our favorite. Service was excellent. Suggestions were made for wine and the meal and were on point. We will definitely be back.

Had dinner here last night with a small group of friends. Our server was wonderful — very knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. Honestly, everything on the menu sounded great, making my final choice difficult. I settled on the scallops — which were cooked to perfection. The brussel sprouts and rice made for nice additions to the plate. My only criticism was that the portions were small. I know, this comment makes me look gluttonous but I guess if I spend $ 40 per person, I would want to feel like I don’t have to raid the fridge when I get home. Heck, I’m good with loading up on vegetables or heavy on starchy potatoes or something. Summary: Great cocktail, beer and wine choices. Can’t go wrong on your entrée choice. Wonderful service.(Please) Make your portions bigger.

Love this little gem! We went in for a lunch not know what to expect and ended up with a 5 star meal! Healthy options and a great drink menu. Simply put, go there and you won’t be upset. We’re excited to try it again! Cheers!

Twisted Cork is great. They have a very impressive Pacific North West-themed wine list, that includes the best Oregon Pinot Noirs in the city. The halibut is amazing, and the best I’ve had since I was actually in Alaska and consumed it fresh from catching it. They add a jalapeño honey glaze that is phenomenal. I’ve also been for brunch, and though the menu is smaller than other places, it was super well done. I recommend the brisket eggs and hash. I have tried the egg white scramble too, which is a nice healthy option. Additionally, their coffee is really tasty, which I would expect from a restaurant with Seattle roots. My boyfriend also raves about their burger, which has been voted the best in Omaha more than once, and for good reason. Check this place out, it’s worth it. And it’s a nice date night spot!

Followed the trail of positive Unilocal reviews to this one — had an ‘okay’ experience. It didn’t seem that fancy? But the hostess seemed pretty put out that we didn’t make reservations, so I’d strongly encourage you do so. She could seat us immediately at the bar or outside, and out of guilt we opted for outside. It got quite brisk through the meal — patio heaters would have been great. Food selection — though limited — was very interesting. The coffee blackened filet was delicious — but strong warning, if you don’t like spicy steer clear. Menu was paper and folded extremely awkwardly. Waitress took a little while to warm up to us — again I think maybe the reservation thing. Fantastic Americano meal end-er.

REALLY yummy food! I’ve been for lunch and dinner and their menu changes a bit for each. For lunch, I love the fisherman’s stew! It has a large piece of salmon and some very large shrimp. Delicious with some crunchy bread served along side. They also have an amazing wine and beer selection. The only downside is how loud it is — difficult to have a conversation if you’re trying to make it private. Otherwise, this is a really fun atmosphere. One of my favorite restaurants in Omaha!

You have to try this if you are a foodie and like fresh unusual libations! The front of the restaurant is unassuming… go in!!! My husband had the San Juan Salmon Tacos. He was oohing and aahing like«When Harry Met Sally». I had the cheeses board oh wow I can’t think of an artsy description just get it if you like good cheese and accoutrements. Then I ordered the corn chowder and the pear salad. Incredible. Sadly we didn’t have room for the awesome sounding desserts. Service was very good! Tammy Tulsa, Ok

I stopped in here for lunch on a weekday. I would peg their menu as a mix between a bistro and a gastropub. They label themselves as a bistro/tavern. There’s a definite bistro look and feel to the place, but the menu is a bit broader than most bistros with some great gastropub selections like a gourmet burgers. I had their Twisted Cork Burger(which, apparently, some show on Food Network called the #1 burger in Nebraska). It’s a tasty, if not terribly large, burger. I resisted the urge to have the slaw removed as I am not usually a slaw fan, I decided to try the burger as the chef intended. I was not let down. It was a tasty juicy burger with a non-bland patty and all of the topping blended to create a perfect mix of salty savory from the burger patty, a refeshing crunch from the slaw, and a great tang from the mustard and pickled red onions. It reminded me of several other tasty gourmet burgers I’ve enjoyed at upscale gastropubs. I’m certainly not the kind of food snob that thinks the more something costs the better it is, but I will say that upscale gastropubs seems to be turning out much better tasting burgers these days than those old greasy spoons we used to rely on for great grill fare. Burger was served with another version of slaw(Apple-Bleu slaw) and kettle chips. Second slaw was good and I am a slaw hater. It wasn’t swimming in mayonaise or anything disgusting like that. The cabbage still had a good crunch to and it paired well with the blue cheese crumbled into it. Kettle chips were very tasty, but they only gave me about 8 of them. I’ve certainly been served bigger plates of food in similar restaurants at similar price points. However, I ate most everything on my plate and left feeling full, Not unsatisfied or stuffed. They have a great selection of craft beer for a bistro. There were something like 20+ craft beers available from a wide variety of breweries. Service was very friendly and attentive. My waitress, Pam, was extremely nice and genuine. I will say that I am not a big fan of the«bistro» style of restaurant. I don’t mean restaurants that throw that word in their business name just to sound urban or chic, but actual bistros with a bistro atmosphere, bistro seating, and bistro capacity. They’re just uncomfortable. I cannot stand it when the tables are that close together. I hate feeling claustrophobic in a restaurant. For people who live/work downtown or midtown or have spent a lot of time in much larger cities this kind of dining is probably somewhat normal for them and they’re probably numb to it. I’m from the semi-rural suburbs and I like my space. I have a very unreasonably large personal bubble. I don’t want packed into a «bistro» like a sardines in a tin. I also frequently dine alone and being in such a visible non-private seat just makes the lone diner experience awkward. In large urban areas(or old European villages) bistros are a necessity because space is at a premium(either due to population density or 100+ year old streets and buildings). In West Omaha it mostly looks like the owners failed to lease enough space for their restaurant. I’ll definitely be back, but probably during their off-hours to enjoy a little more space.

Okay, I spent 19 months traveling to Omaha late 2012 to mid 2014. I was lucky enough to have an apartment in Old Market. I usually cooked at home, but when I did go out to eat it was usually within walking distance. That limited approach kept me from getting to what is now, based upon one visit, my favorite restaurant in Omaha, Twisted Cork Bistro. First, the place has a great vibe. Comfortable, chic Seattle referenced décor and really great music. Second, my waitress was freakin’ phenomenal! First she let me know what was fresh. Tonight it was mussels, scallops and ahi tuna. While that info was very helpful, it left me with three choices and I looked to her for direction. She ranked them for me, putting the ahi tuna at the top of the list. She put the cioppino second and added that people rave about it. Third was the scallop dish. I took her advice and ordered the ahi tuna. The Union Pinot Noir was excellent! And while they claim a six ounce pour, it seems like more. My ahi arrived and the waitress told me the sauce, which was used sparingly on the plate, was wonderful and brought me a small pitcher of the sauce. THANKYOU!!! The ahi was served with a slaw and a small amount of jasmine rice. The tuna, slaw and sauce(dressing?) was simply delicious. It was ‘yummy sound’ delicious. I had to keep it down since I was by myself and I didn’t want to draw attention to myself, but after many bites I did let out a low, «Mmmmmmm». It was SO good! And I wasn’t enthused to have rice on the plate, but it was just a small amount that added subtle flavor to the meal overall. This was seriously one of the best meals I’ve had out in a long time. At one point the waitress apologized for being away so long. I really hadn’t noticed. I did not feel neglected. I am here through Thursday afternoon. I AM going back to Twisted Cork Bistro tomorrow for the cioppino. The only thing that could make this place better is a more natural setting for the outside seating. I didn’t sit outside, but would like to. Unfortunately, the view is the parking lot. Please, please, please open a a Twisted Cork Bistro in Hayward, CA! I have the perfect place picked out.

An absolute hidden gem in town. Amazing farm to table spot and able to get us in on a Friday at 7pm immediately. Mostly fresh fish dishes, great wine and fantastic small plates! Service was a little slow to start, waited a bit for our greeting and drink order but our server was very sweet.

First timers last night for dinner. We tried the lahvosh, Juan de Fuca tacos, and the Elmwood Prairie Fire. I thought they were all pretty good, but the tacos were especially delicious! The miso glazed salmon with bacon mayo, avocado aioli, and blue corn tortilla shells created a unique flavor. I was hesitant to try to salmon having recently had a terrible experience elsewhere, but it was fresh and had great flavor. While the Prairie Fire(espresso and cayenne flat iron) had great flavor, some slices were gristly, which was a drawback for me. For drinks I had the Farmer Mule with cucumber and mint. It was stiff, but refreshing. A good thing in my opinion. My husband had the Mai Tai. It had 3 different types of Bacardi and was topped with toasted coconut. He wasn’t that into it, but I thought it was decent(though be warned as it was sweet and really strong). Overall it was a good meal with a nice environment that I will try again. I would like to check out the patio once the weather is nice again!

First off, I’ll say this is a solid 3.5 stars and I would eat here again. Decided to try something new, and since my wife and daughter were in the vicinity, I met them here for dinner on a Monday night. Décor is nice as others have described. The wait staff was great, my wife had me add a little extra to the tip because of how nice the server was while they waited for me to arrive. They had a good selection of microbrew, both local and from around the country. The waitress made a great recommendation on my wife’s red wine, she really liked it. We started with the mussels as an appetizer, and enjoyed them. The sauce had a lemon zest flavor with crumbled blue cheese, that was a great combination with a piece of bread all together. For the main course I had the Plum Creek Farm chicken. I like that they source local, and have had chicken from this farm at other local restaurants. The chicken had a cinnamon apple glaze/sauce on it, which was actually pretty good. I am a fan of sweet, and it definitely added to the flavor of the chicken. The downside was the chicken simply wasn’t as moist and tender as I have had it at a number of other places. It was good, but not great. My wife had the salmon and it was cooked nicely. She said it seemed like a very nice piece of fish, but maybe wasn’t super fresh(which we did both concede that it was salmon on a Monday night in the middle of the country, so not much you can do there). Overall it is a nice restaurant and a was an enjoyable meal. Would we go back, for sure. Is it one of my favorites in town, no.
