a few weeks ago I stopped in and got a sampling of everything, ground chuck(excellent quality and price) breakfast sausage links(DELICIOUS) fresh polish sausage(so good you have no idea) their award winning ham(well deserved) English bangers(best I’ve had yet) and some bacon and pierogies, at this point I just have the bacon and pierogis left but I am SURE both are excellent. the whole haul was affordable quality and made with care and the proper recipes, and reminded me of the pre grocery stores when my Grandma used to go to a local butcher shop for all their meats. I am fairly sure since they lived in Omaha downtown it was Stoysich, but I don’t remember. all I remember is. that breakfast sausage. Go now and stock your freezer with their quality meats and sausages! DELICIOUS!

I stumbled upon Stoysich as a college student in Omaha. I have moved around quite a bit since and no butcher shop has been able to fill the void that Stoysich left. Let me just say that the quality of sausage here is second to none. The sheer variety they offer is outstanding and they are always experimenting with new ones. Sausage isn’t all they do, they are also a meat market, game processor, and deli counter. Here are some of my favorites. –The Reuben Sausage: I don’t know how they do it but it is a dead on Reuben. Match the sausage with the pumpernickel buns they sell, their Bavarian Sauerkraut, and hold on to your tastebuds. –The Patty Melt: It’s like a cheeseburger in link form. Pure awesome with ketchup and mustard. I can go on and on since their brats, hot dogs, and even rare items like Portugese Linguica are equally delicious. The beef sticks are also worth checking out and come in a variety of flavors. Finally, are the side dishes. DONOTMISSTHEBAVARIANSAUERKRAUT. It is sauerkraut with bacon and porky goodness mixed in. –The Chipped Beef dip is equally legendary. –They also offer a wide variety of other products such as pickled peppers, tons of mustards, BBQ sauces, bread/buns, and Central European specialty products. If you are looking for ingredients for a recipe and nobody seems to carry them call Stoysich(organ meat, soup bones, etc). If they don’t have it on hand it is likely they can get a hold of it for you. I love this place and make it a point to visit whenever I get back in Omaha. If you haven’t been here make sure to check it out.
