I was always leary of the Pheasant Tavern since I’ve never been there before and all the bikes outside told me it’s potentially a rough crowd, but when I heard the fabulous cooks from Choo Choo’s took over ownership I had to try it out. Damn, I really missed the wings they made and I’m glad I ventured in. I find the atmosphere there to be comfortable and relaxed.(As for the bikes, well they mostly belong to the fine gentleman of lodge next door!) Now I find myself going every Taco Tuesday! They offer 3 hard shell, two soft shell, nachos, cheese dip, quesadillas, or a buffalo chicken wrap for only $ 1.75 each(currently). A great deal! Their wings are exceptional. The char-buffed are as good as anybody’s in town and the boneless appear to be fresh, hand battered breast meat covered in whatever sauce you like. The tropical habenero is a winner on those. Unfortunately, my menu exploring ends there but I hear their pizzas are amazing. You can also do take out and they can do large take out orders for parties if you call ahead. Give it a go!

One of my favorite bars in Obama, i’m not a fan of karaōke. Other than that the bar is awesome. The foods pretty good and the beer is cold

Uhh. Can you say Millard South high school reunion? We took our step son to his 21st birthday the bar has a nice homey atmosphere. I would recommend this to friends and I would recommend this to family. The people were nice. The staff was nice. Though it wouldn’t be my first choice of bars but it’s a nice place to go if you want to rekindle old times with good friends.

Stopped in to try some wings on a weekend afternoon. Its a dive bar, but pretty big with a lot of seating, pool table, games, and TV’s. Overall, probably a 3 star joint, and a decent place to grab a drink for a local, but… the big letdown here was the service. The bartender quite honestly seemed to really dislike his job, and overall was a bit of a grouch. Simply put, it was not a welcoming vibe and did not make me want to come back. As I was with 5 or 6 others, all seemed to have a similar experience when they went to the bar for a drink or to order food. On to the wings… ordered their ‘large’ half buffalo, half BBQ. They came out fairly quickly after ordering and were piping hot. They were cooked well, and the buffalo was spicy but not overpowering. The BBQ was pretty standard, most likely store bought. Overall they fit the bill, and we’re decent, but nothing to get excited about. Unfortunately the unwelcoming vibe just put me off a bit and I doubt I’ll be back.

Wings were, at best, mediocre. Fries were undercooked and soggy. Staff seemed nice enough.

Delish food. There are your normal bar food but they will also take it up and notch. haven’t had anything bad there yet!

Should you read into the fact there are very few reviews? No. They call this place the dirty bird and the people who go there don’t know about the internet. For places like this it’s a win if you don’t get food poisoning. I did not. WIN! Also I went on Thursday when they have a wing special. OWL approved.

best boneless chicken wings in the city! HUGE hunks of meat not covered in breading, good onion rings as well.

I tried giving this place a chance since the cooks from Choo Choos starting running the kitchen. Seemed like the first couple times I went in it def seemed like they cleaned the place up quite a bit. The wings we had where great and service was ok– at best. The most recent experience we had there is going to be our last. Boneless wings lacked flavor, bartender(I think named Mark) was blatantly rude, and the place was filthy again. Sad that the improvements that had been made were short lived.

I have been hearing rave reviews of the wings here so I had to try them out for myself. There was a little confusion at first since the menu does not mention char buff and no one seemed like it was a frequent request but I got them ordered — medium char buff was the final decision. The wings came out hot and cooked near perfectly(perhaps they could have used one or two more minutes in the fryer before hitting the grill) and they were some of the best I have had. The only downfall was the ranch and bleu cheese dressings — neither of them had much flavor. Luckily the wings carried themselves.
