Mama’s Pizza

I miss this place! I haven’t been here in a long time, but figured a Unilocal review is in order. The quality of the pizza was consistent each time I had it. Just a good old-​fashioned pizza is how I’d sum it up.

Probably a 4.4 out of 5. It’s a decent sized place with a small parking lot (tho could have been some parking in back). It’s very confusing when u wall in as there are tables but no one greeting u and no menus on the table. Took a second to realize that u order at the bar (to the left). We grabbed some menus on the bar as the board was hard to see. My wife and I decided on half cheese (her choice, boring!) and I went with some hamburgersh half. That seems to be a big Omaha thing, which I’m really starting to like! We also got a pitcher of Boulevard Wheat. Wasn’t a big fan of the beer choices. 2 wheats, a lager, Miller, Bud. Wish one of those wheats was an IPA or something different. Our total $ 30, plus tip. Pretty good in my opinion. Not sure of the break down tho, but pitcher had to be less than 12.
As for the pizza, the guy served it and it looked great. Unfortunately we didn’t have plates, napkins, cheese, peppers or anything on our tables. Surprisingly they guy didn’t mention that everything was on a separate table. Would have been nice for him to say that when he put the pizza down. Anyways, the pizza was great. Lots of toppings and sauce. I really liked it. I will say it wasn’t very big as we got a large and only left with like 3 slices (squares). Either way, great pizza and I will definitely go again.
Lastly, there was plenty of tvs but I didn’t see one on the NBA playoffs which I thought was odd as there was like 5 in my section on the same hockey game (game 5, so not a big deal as score was 3 – 1). The place was also freezing.

Every time I am in Omaha, visiting family, I order pizza from Mama’s.
Mama’s pizza is consistently good! We usually call ahead and place our pizza orders to go.
Each time, our pizza is nice and hot, when we pick up and we are home within 5 minutes ready to eat it!
I have to say we always enjoy Mama’s pizza!
The ingredients are fresh, the toppings plentiful, not the least bit skimpy!
I enjoy the hamburger with fresh mushrooms, but my custom vegetarian pizza with artichoke, fresh spinach, tomato, mushroom and cheese, is just as tasty! Mama’s pizza has lots of other toppings to choose from, so you can customize your pizza to your own liking, each time you place an order!
I do like that they slice their pizzas, into «square» slices, that are manageable to pick up with your hands. As a result, you get twice as many smaller slices, which is nice! The advantage here is if you are ordering two or three different kinds of pizzas, you can try one of each of the «smaller square slices» from more than one kind of pizza, where at other pizza joints huge wedges are offered!
Inside Mama’s, there is plenty of seating with lots of TV’s, so you can watch your favorite sports team too.
I noticed several large groups seated, enjoying Mama’s pizza, on my last pick up.
They also have nice salads, some yummy onion rings, and many other offerings too.
Definitely worth trying, when you are looking for good consistent quality pizza!

It’s been a long time since I had been to Mama’s, which is odd as it was such a regular place for me for so long. Stopped in on a frigid Friday night and the place was packed of course with large groups of people. I was solo on this night and found one of the few small tables they have (this place is made for large groups). Went to the bar to order a small pizza and realized that even a small would be way more than I needed. I opted for spaghetti and meatballs.
I received a large bowl of pasta with huge meatballs and it was steaming hot. It’s a basic hearty pasta which is exactly what I like. Mama’s is still good comfort food, still popular and still for groups. Would be awesome to have a smaller pizza option, but there may not be demand for it.

We had a birthday party for about 20 people and the pizza came out hot the service was fast and friendly although it’s all counter service. The pizzas were not bad. We are jaded because we are from California where you would never find ground beef in a pie. So good for parties, good service, good pizza

Head firmly up ass. Don’t ever open a tab. They’ll let others charge to it. My post is short. Clearly as their intelligence.

We love Mama’s Pizza on Saddle Creek. It’s a great family/​sports bar that is always busy, but not too busy to treat you right. TVs everywhere, a good bar, and the BEST pizza in Omaha. Real, plentiful cheese and fresh ingredients. Call in an order — get it hot and fresh in 20 minutes — with a smile! We love this locally owned staple of the community.

Good vegetarian pizza. Just has a home made heavy feel and rich taste to it which we like. This time my husband and I both ordered the chicken fried chicken dinner which was very good and my granddaughter had the cheese frenchee which she liked. Only 3 stars because Veal Parmesan is one of their «House Specialties». The treatment of baby cows used in veal is known to be worse than that of any other animal used for consumption. If not for this I would give them 4 stars.

Their Chicken fried chicken is absolutely delicious and so is their wings, the pizza is okay not my favorite. I give three stars for the wait time is quite long but, they do make the food fresh and hot. i love that they have an arcade so when ii come here with my sister her kids can play while we enjoy the grown up time.

One of my favorite pizza places in Omaha! I have never had a bad meal here. The pizza is filling and very good! The sausage trio pizza is my favorite along with their onion rings.

Pretty delicious pizza, but not necessarily out of this world. Would definitely buy again, though!

Classic omaha staple. How do you go wrong here. Love the toppings love the crust. Pizza has been the same for what feels like 30 years!!!

I have been coming here for more than a decade. It had been a few years since I was in the area but was disappointed to see the changes. It was a pizzeria/​sports bar with plenty of separation if wanted. That is not so much the case now. The ingredients have been downgraded to save on cost. That is seen so much with smaller outfits. I know they have another location that my brother seems to enjoy. I may give that a shot but I will have to count this one out. If your in the mood for pizza please stop by. It is better than the fast pizza/​food franchises at least.

This place never disappoints. If you have a problem with cheese/​dairy don’t come here for pizza (sorry my lactose interact friends) they use loads of hamburger and cheese which make such a great combo. Salads are pretty good too. Raviolis are small cute and good. My extended family and I always go there for gatherings and it’s just a fun little place to go! The little arcade is great for the little ones. Idk why but the atmosphere is like none other. The togo there is nice food always hot when I get home but make sure you get all your food before you leave. Almost forgot my salad! Great place for a little pizza and fun!
I TOTALLY FORGOT TO ADD THEY HAVE BEST RANCH. I literally love ranch and so when I go to places I always pay attention to that. My brother practically licks it out of the container lol go ranch!

I hadn’t had this pizza for at least a decade. My dad used to buy it all the time when I was a kid and I loved it. Today I realized I still do. I also realized that this juuuust might be the pizza that I’ve always judged pizza by. It’s 4 star pizza, but I think nostalgia took over to 5 stars for me.

Mama’s Pizza definitely has a small town, family run vibe. A real ‘pizza joint’. It reminds me of the local pizza place in my hometown when I was growing up. Wide open with tables big and small, a bar, and kids running up to their parents asking for money to go play games.
Their pizza is good, and I will say consistent. The crust is a little thicker than my favorite NY style, but still tasty. I pretty much always get the pizza only, with an occasional appetizer, which are standard fare, no real stand outs. Overall a better alternative to the chain pizza places.

I have been, am now, and hope to be for a long time a big cheerleader for MaMa’s pizza. I’ve only been to this location, so I can’t speak for others. Hot fresh, tasty food that is made from scratch. It is a local favorite. GREAT JOB!

Hmm… was a bit leery to stop in after reading the reviews about small kids running around the place… and sure enough, lots of small kids causing a ruckus. Thankfully we found a table away from the arcade.
We had the BBQ chicken pizza and we just had to try the onion rings. I’m a bit of an onion ring connoisseur and the onion rings were nicely cooked. Although, I could give this place 5 stars simply on the house ranch alone. Unlike anything I’ve ever had and the ranch made for a nice dipping sauce for the pizza crusts.
Was able to see some of the other patron’s pizza’s and they all looked piping hot and delicious.
What seperates this place apart from other pizza joints is the dough. It wasn’t oily or greasy and it was simply there to hold the amazing toppings together. I thoroughly enjoyed our pizza and our experience there and will be back for sure.
There are so many other pizzas that I would like to try and based on what I’ve seen, tasted, and smelled… they will deliver the goods once again.
Summary: Mama’s Pizza is a must-​try in Omaha.

It’s put me in many a food coma, but the Mama’s Special is indeed special (one of those meat below the cheese pizza deals). Other favorites include the margherita and BBQ chicken pizzas. The sides are hit and miss. Bland garlic bread, wimpy iceberg-​heavy house salads but STELLAR onion rings — perhaps the best in town.
Another thing that makes Mama’s memorable is its neighborhood-​centric atmosphere. It’s the type of place people go to their entire lives to throw a birthday party or watch a game on one of the many, many giant TVs.
Warning: Large pies come in square slices. Yes, we’re in the Midwest.

Part two of my food pilgrimage through Nebraska.
Food: I realize I made a mistake by not trying the titular item (pizza), but I was too tempted by the cheese frenchee (
). I did not know this was a thing before coming here, but apparently it’s a deep fried grilled cheese sandwich that you usually can only get in Nebraskan restaurants. I’m not used to eating entire entrees that principally consist of cheese, bread, and deep fried exteriors, so I had a nagging concern that it would gross me out. Turns out that I pretty much inhaled this thing. The cheese was perfectly melty and the fried bits fantastically crunchy. I find myself craving it from time to time. The dish also came with what appeared to be Ruffles and limp pickle slices. Not terribly impressive.
Atmosphere: Ok, I need to be honest. It was pretty creepy in here. I know that they function as a bar, but the lighting was too low at 2 PM in the afternoon for me to feel comfortable. The cheery exterior and bubbly font on the exterior does not reflect what you’ll find inside (
).
Service: The woman behind the register was super nice even though we changed our minds multiple times.
Synopsis: I’d definitely do the cheese frenchee again even though I’d have to run a couple miles to burn it off.
