Be very very careful when dealing with Richdale, the management company. Once you sign a lease you locked in, even if it hasn’t gone into effect yet or even if it is even signed by management. Rash of break ins and vandalism at complex makes it unsafe for children. Getting anything fixed in a reasonable time is a lesson in patience. If you have money to waste and don’t mind the run around then this is the place for you.

Before I moved into Latvian Village, I was extremely skeptical, based on reviews from apartment-renting sites, i.e. . However, those reviews were written prior to 2006, when Latvian renovated the interior and replaced the windows of every unit. Note: I moved out in late 2010. Although I technically lived in a ‘non-renovated’, one-bedroom unit, the interior was beautiful. The walls were buttercream, and the cabinets/crown-molding were white. My bathroom had two sinks, with white granite counter-tops, and the unit itself was 800+ square foot. Additionally, this was a great place to live with a dog, as the grounds include a dog run! My electricity and gas bills(combined) never exceeded $ 50. This has a lot to do with the recent window replacements. In August, my electricity was $ 41, and my gas/water/sewage was $ 6. That’s $ 47 for utilities in the hottest summer month. So cheap. In Fall, I paid less than $ 40 combined. They also offer a great deal on cable — $ 41 per month for channels 1 – 72. Last but not least, the leasing agents are exceptional. They’re always peppy and happy to help in any way possible. Although I no longer live in Omaha, I would recommend Latvian to my friend and family, no questions asked.
