Fun place to go w/friends & family. Especially to celebrate your Birthday, which they’ll offer you a choice of free dessert; fried ice cream or free shot of tequila! They’ll come out with a sombrero for you to wear while they sing you Happy Birthday! You can’t go wrong with their appetizers. My choice being the guacamole dip and mixed nacho’s-beef, chicken & bean with white cheese! The combination of them both are a meal you can split between two people! Try one of their Premium Margarita’s ranging from $ 7-$ 12. Well worth the upgrade. I recommend the Sevilla Margarita Cazadores Reposado Tequila, grapefruit mix, tajin pepper and their signature margarita mix. The Tajin pepper replaces the salt rim & adds a little extra spice to the drink! I’ve gotta say their House Margarita’s are pretty darn good, but after a few years of dining here, I’ve stepped it up to Premium! I rarely get to try any meals because I’m full from the unlimited chips & salsa, along with drinks & appetizers! Over all prices are cheap & portion sizes are good. If you arrive before 5p. m you can order from their HH menu, which has a great selection of foods to try! You can count on Fast & Friendly service Every Time! Enjoy!

Not impressed. I feel like it’s hard to get Mexican food wrong. But this place pretty much had it covered. My dad had ordered the chicken tortilla soup and our waiter brought out a soup with beef and potatoes which was in the description of the other soup. When my dad politely questioned it our waiter rudely and defensively argued him. He even said at one point«Listen to me!» He said it didn’t come with any tortilla strips unless we paid for them. Ummmm weird. I ordered the freshest margarita and he brought it out in a normal plastic cup. We sat right by the bar where we saw hundreds of glass margarita glasses hanging not being used. Wondering why I didn’t get one of those. I got the taco salad with chicken and it was extremely underwhelming. It had a giant taco shell which was cool but then it was 90% shredded lettuce, 5% chicken and 5% sour cream and guac. Every bite was mainly shredded lettuce. It was totally boring and not good. Bunch of employees came around to sing happy birthday and slap a sombrero on my moms head. They went to hand her a bite of whipped cream after the song and shoved it into her nose all over her face. Again, weird. Honestly, I will not be back. I thought the service was lacking and rude. Food was so mediocre and margaritas in a plastic water cup?! I wanted to like this place, I really did. But will not return.

Food and dine in service is quite decent at both Maple street locations; however, 156th Maple location needs to have someone else answering phones for pick-up orders. I must have had bad luck but the past couple times I’ve called 156th Maple location for a pick up, it was clearly the same gal as my conversations were 100% identical. I realize they are more than likely busy yet semi-decent phone etiquette would be nice. She answers the phone in a rush, «hi, thanks for calling la mesa» «hi, i’d like to place an order for pick up», cuts me off mid way — «do you know what you want»… Um, yes, that’s why I’m calling, I’m thinking to myself. «yes, I would like a burrito with no…» she interrupts, «that comes with beans and rice, what type of beans?» «I would like a burrito with no cheese and black beans, please». «OK, Is that all?» «No, I would also like a taco with carne asda» «ok, is that all?» «Um, no, I also need a tamale and a.» «Wait a second»… I can hear her thinking out loud and she says«just kidding” — not sure what she meant by that… „Ok, so you want a tamale. is that all?“ „No, i would also like an order of queso“. „ok, is that all?“.“yes» «name?» i provide my name«it’ll be ready in 20. thanks» and as i’m saying thanks the phone is already hung up. Perhaps they have a 17 year old answering the phones and I shouldn’t expect more but I do. Hun, slow down, quit interrupting people, listen first, and why don’t you let ME tell YOU when I’m finished ordering instead of asking after every single thing I order if that’s all. Nerve racking and rude. Come on, talking on the phone is not rocket science. Is not being interrupted and having some listening skills too much to ask for?

SLOOOOOOWWWWW! I’m still waiting. No really I am. We went here tonight b/c 108 and maple was closed for remodeling. Food tastes the same but the service is not up to standard for la Mesa. You have to flag them down for anything. They aren’t busy tonight. We walked right in with no wait. There are plenty of people working too. Maybe it’s our waiter. Not sure.

Nice and convenient for the part of town and a very nice set up inside. Their menu has many different options to choose from and the prices are not too terrible. The only issues that I had was with the sizes of their enchiladas and quality of the chicken fajitas. They were far from what I was expecting. Below average size of the enchilada, and the fajitas looked very poorly thrown together. Mind you my family are not big portion eaters either and assumed we would take leftovers home. We will go back, but not on my immediate go to list.

Went to this LaMesa restaurant a few times now and absolutely love their Nacho Fajitas, along with their barbacoa and tilapia tacos. Margaritas always play an important role, which they’re the best at making.

Typical LaMesa menu. New, smaller, venue. Has a good bar selection. Smaller less flashy bar than 108th and Maple. Smaller family dining venue. Has a small outdoor seating area.

Extremely fast service — almost too fast(Sunday night). Good house marg. Food was OK but I thought a little expensive. OK place but probably won’t be going back — better Mexican restaurants.

While we’re thrilled to have the restaurant out here, they’ve got work to do. We’ve enjoyed the Maple street location for several years. The drinks were good and we happened to be seated right away. My chimichanga was one of the worst I’ve ever had. It was not fried and came to the table looking like a cream colored mess. I asked twice about it not looking right and was told it was correct. Only after I retrieved a menu and showed it to the wait staff did she acknowledge that she’d forgotten the condiments which included the lettuce, sour cream avocado etc. Her explanation for the lack of frying was that the cheese had made it soft. My husband’s burrito was on the small size and the filling was fairly scant. There was little seasoning in the beans or rice. Hopefully a little more time and attention in the kitchen will make some major improvements. The manager did stop by our table to see how they’d done. He took $ 3 off the inedible meal to entice us back! Not sure it’s going to work anytime soon.

A sorrowful experience if you like good Mexican food. Seriously bland. Lighting was like a cafeteria. Shrimp in the fajita was like rubber. Chimichanga was not fried. So disappointed!!!

I know its a new place and all but 45 minutes to get a meal is retarded. Then when it did finally arrive, it was wrong. No excuse for that, pure and simple piss-poor Management!

The food and drinks were very good and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back. Only complaint is not having tv’s in the bar area but not a huge deal.

Being an Omaha native I’ve definitely heard of La Mesa before, but had actually never patronized the local chain. I recently moved and was checking out the eats in my neighborhood and figured I’d try a new place and treat my hubby to his favorite type of cuisine(two birds, really). I wasn’t sure what to expect but was overall quite happy with my experience. The menu is pretty standard Mexican American fare. Enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, etc. but they did have a wide selection. I love a good taco(think Voodoo Taco!) and was pleased to see a bigger variety than I was expecting. The usual suspects were there(shredded chicken, ground beef, carnitas) but they also had a few other meats including chorizo and barbacoa. The carnitas taco I ordered was unfortunately dry and didn’t have much flavor. The barbacoa however was very tender and juicy. Bursting with a rich meaty taste and the spicier salsa they serve with the entrees is much better than the stuff that comes with your free appetizer chips. I did ask for cheese that apparently does not come on tacos and was charged $ 1.75 for about 2 tablespoons of cheese in a tiny dish. I understand the need to make a profit, but I’m not a fan of the nickel and dime approach. The service we received was excellent. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. He was mindful of refills and checked on us to see how everything was going. The manager also did a quick drive by. The hostess was friendly and very welcoming. The interior décor is fun and unique. It looks like the outside of a hacienda with a clay roof and everything. A little cheesy but fun. The booths and tables are very nice and well-made. Clean and new.
