This is a combination restaurant — KFC with a Long John Silvers. Since it’s lent, I was looking for some fish, and LJ’s won.
Unfortunately, when the fish was done, the dark golden color of the fish screamed «old oil» to me. It didn’t taste as good as fish cooked in fresher oil.
LJ’s new cole slaw mixture misses the mark as well. It’s weak, and doesn’t carry as well as their old mix did.
The fountain worked okay for drinks, and service was pleasant. I’m going to look for a different one next week, to see if this is a local district or a manager issue.
