The food is wonderful. I typically split the fajitas with my significant other. Also, I recommend the queso. The only hang up I have with this restaurant is that the bathrooms are a little gross(but not terrible) and the service is slow more often than not. But they are very kind and fair if they mess anything up!

The salsa we received at the beginning tasted like tomatoes sauce out of the jar, no flavor at all. Poor service. The waitress forgot our extra cilantro. Took for ever to get her attention. The fajita was good.

Server was not good. No substitutions allowed. Said they had no shredded pork!?? Forgot some of my order. Drink was stiff and good. Everything just had no flavor and was cold and right out of box. Processed over priced very dry meat. Maybe we all just ordered the wrong meals. We will not be back to try again. Soooo many better places.

My daughter and I went for dinner and wanted to try something new. The Margarita was huge and strong so very good. The queso unfortunately tasted like Velveeta with not much else. The salsa was all tomatoes with a seasoning like chilli powder but much better, yum. We tried the Enchilada Verde since we love green chili. There was no flavor to the chicken or sauce and it was dry. Unfortunately we were too disappointed and won’t be back.

I have visited this restaurant numerous times. I have had decent meals here, even good meals here. However the last couple of visits have been less than impressive. The hostess told us upon arrival our wait would be 20 – 30 minutes(two adults, 3 kids) when there were several open tables. I explained we wouldn’t be able to wait that long and asked if there was any way we could sit at one of the open tables all over the restaurant. She then left, came back and told me they could«open up a table» for us but they typically do not seat people there. We walked back and it was a normal table surrounded by other people eating. So it was very confusing and rude. The service was horrible as well. The waitress was standing over us asking for our drink order before we even had the kids in their seats or our coats off. It was very weird. And then asked us if we were ready to order(yes, seriously). When we asked for more time she came back 15 – 20 minutes later. We also sat for at least 10 – 15 minutes after everyone was done eating before anyone came by and when I asked for a box she didn’t respond and walked away. The food is okay. Their soft tacos are great, their enchiladas leave much to be desired. The salsa was very salty with no kick. I think if you order the right thing and get a better server you can have a decent experience here. However I think there are much better Mexican options all over Omaha.

the left turn off Pacific with no actual turn signal and what seems like limitless oncoming traffic at times drives both me and my GPS crazy. turn LEFT. turn LEFT. where? the street is not marked very well and if you didn’t know Hectors is in the same area as Mama’s pizza or Pettits Pastry like I did not when I picked it. well. I ended up taking a tour of the neighborhood like the first time I missed Mama’s left turn and then had to try to get across all of Pacific Street. felt like Frogger. of course if you are coming from the way you can turn right — awesome for you. Hectors is in the corner of the shopping area with plenty of parking in front. it is a clean friendly place that were experiencing a lunchrush including the crying baby that seems to follow me around when I want to eat out lately, I stopped in for a last minute lunch just wanting enchiladas. I ended up getting the taco and ench combo because I can’t refuse tacos either. on the menu and the website they state they serve Baja style. no cumin or oregano. i’m a foodie and a cook. I like cumin and oregano and cilantro and lots of peppers in my food but not hot peppers. this was not spicy either. I did very much like the meat enchilada a great deal and I love their cheesy beans and rice. the chips are delicious. the problem i had was the lack of cumin and cilantro /oregano in the salsa and the taco meat, because I truly missed it. the salsa was not what I like in a salsa since I have made my own I really know what I like. this wasn’t quite what I like. it was made just fine. it just was. lacking. I like Hectors, the enchiladas were excellent. due to the ench sauce the seasoning issue is not present and I completely enjoyed the enchilada. they serve how they serve it and had I done more research(long paragraphs make me sleepy) the taco it still was better than other unseasoned bland places I’ve had in restaurants past(cough Mannys Kansas City). I just wanted the missing cumin in the taco meat. I would come back for the enchiladas and try some of the other things in the reviews too.

We’ve been to four of Omaha’s most highly recommended Mexican restaurants since moving here from NYC, and Hector’s is the best so far! The fresh tortillas are great. I loved the fajitas, and my wife loved the Carnitas while my daughter enjoyed her chimichanga.

It’s a nice clean restaurant with quick and friendly service. They provide large bowls or free chips and salsa which were very good. My beef enchilada was bland and slightly greasy, but the beef burrito and chicken taco were great. The beans and rice were average. My girlfriend really enjoyed the chimichanga burrito. Give it a try.

I judge my Mexican food on their Carne Asada and its below average here. Requested medium rare and it was very well done. Not sure why they even asked. Salsa bar and chips are very good as are the margaritas(but a tad pricey). They seem to be going through the motions because the west o crowd doesn’t know any better. I’ll keep going because my daughter loves the chips.

I may be biased because I worked here for a while during high school, but I crave Hector’s like no other restaurant in Omaha. It is my most favorite restaurant of all time. The salsa is mouth-watering and the fact that it’s free with chips and delivered to your table straight away is just awesome. The queso dip is fantastic. The nachos are my favorite in Omaha. My favorite thing on the menu is the seafood enchiladas. Now I really want some… The Enchilads Verde are also really good! The margaritas aren’t my favorite, but the mojitos are where it’s at. The fresh flour tortillas are a nice touch and if you dip them in chile con queso, it tastes like macaroni and cheese! I always get great service whether I’m dining in or ordering take-out. My food is always hot and prepared just right. If I could go to Hector’s everyday without gaining 30 pounds, I would.

VERY pleased… we have tried a LOT of other mexican restaurants since moving here in June and this is the first one we’re willing to come back to! We rate mexican restaurants a lot based on their chips and salsa, and this place passed the test! We are from the Wichita, KS area and finding good hot salsa back home is easy. Up here in Omaha? Non-existent! Hector’s actually has some good hot salsa! We also loved the queso — highly recommend! We had tacos and enchiladas and all were good. The homemade tortilla in my soft taco was AMAZING!!! We will definitely be back!

this is the worst Mexican Restaurant I have been too. They say Baja style which should mean a lot of Fresh Seafood options. But they have a couple shrimp dishes, salmon, sea bass. I tried the Sea Bass. It was cooked in a bath of butter and was extremely rubbery. I had tried two bites. I told the waiter that I did not like the dish. His response was to go grab my check. Ive had the traditional Mexican options and they are very average as well.

Great atmosphere, there was a live mariachi band playing. The food is always great tasting. The staff is very educated and helpful. The margaritas are some of the best around. Food quality is great. I always get the enchiladas! They are so good and the servings are always big.

Shredded beef all the things. I love the shredded beef at hectors. Also they make the chips fresh in house, and you can tell. Great margaritas, and great staff all in a great environment. I highly recommend stoping in and giving hectors a try.

Good neighborhood spot. Patio is great. Seafood enchiladas and carne asada are both great. Good guacamole and salsa always tastes fresh. Service can be hit or miss but they are always busy. Prices are good. Famous for fish tacos. First ones in Omaha. Dos Equis and Dos Equis Amber both on tap. Margaritas are muye gigantico. Best place to go on a weekend when you need a little Mexican food.

I grew up in Texas and moved here a few years ago. I have not found Mexican food this good in Omaha! I’m very picky when it comes to Mexican food, and this was great! Not as hot as I like it but that’s ok as we are in omaha. We started with the fundido which is what I have missed the most since moving here! And we shared the steak ranchero. They have fresh homemade tortillas! You can even buy them by the dozen! Finally fresh tortillas out west! Overall I say go enjoy some great Mexican!

The server was very quiet. I barely noticed he had approached the table. He had no personality and seemed to want to do the bare minimum. He forgot a few things and really dropped the ball service-wise. The food was good as usual, I’ve been to hectors many times over the years having grown up in Otown, and finally am getting around to writing a review. I love their tacos: succulent pork carnitas, marinated carne asada, and the tasty lobster and baja fish tacos really are something special. Excellent sauce drizzled on the side and perfected with a squeeze of lemon for acid. I’m less impressed with their enchiladas, which usually come out a bit soggy and taste a little bland. Not terrible, just not anything special. I wouldn’t suggest the fried ice cream, we are usually fans but hectors version tasted mealy and stale, as though it had been prepared a while ago. Overall still a decent experience but with a few disappointments.

Over the last year this has become my favorite stop for Mexican food in Omaha. The food is prepared fresh and is always thoughtfully seasoned and presented. I love their fresh in house tortillas, best I’ve had in Omaha. Typical Bar menu with margarita’s, beers, and tequilas as you would expect. I’ve had good luck with service, not out of the park but certainly proficient. No matter when we go they always seem busy. However the food always comes fast and the drinks stay full! We like going here with the kids because the place is loud and the chips and salsa hit the table right away. There are a few names around Omaha that get more talk, but for me Hectors is the best name for Mexican cuisine.
