I love El Basha’s meat. They are always fresh, soft, juicy and delicious!!! Inside the building feels like you are somewhere in Middle East. Very comfy place with so many different Arabic portraits. Indeed I love this place. Recommend it to everyone!!! In this picture beef shaurma with rice.

Love this place — it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food is always amazing

It has been years since I had been here, and I had always wanted to go back. So glad we did! My husband had never been here and he loved it as well. He had the gyro combo with fries and I just ordered a gyro with no onions or tomato. He loved the portion size here. It was just right. We were really stuffed when we left here(even after sharing the fries). The meat was well seasoned and the sauce was really good and just the right amount of it too. It didn’t over power anything. Great flavor all around. The service was great too. They came around and grabbed our stuff from us before we had even left. Nice. We will not let years go by before we come back. I guarantee it.

Fantastic food. It’s a smaller place so it’s pretty busy around meal time but I still found a place to sit quickly. I got the chicken schwarma wrap and the balance of ingredients was perfect. I left happy and will definitely go back.

El Basha… First time I came here, I wasn’t impressed. Decided to come back and give it another try because I was craving middle eastern food. I came out and the place redeemed itself. I really enjoy this place. I get the the El Basha Special platter and I’ve gotten it several times now. It’s delicious and such a filling meal. I never finish it at the restaurant and always get to take home left overs. The gyro meat is always full of flavor and the chicken kabob is retains its juices. I also loveeeee the doner kabob! So flavorful! Definitely not the best ever but one of the best here in Omaha here for sure. I didn’t realize that Omaha charges so much tax just to eat out. It’s 10% literally. But I guess I can’t complain when I believe the food is worth it! PS. The lentil soup is the bomb dot com! I choose that over the salad when ordering my platter. Also if you want, share a side of the hummus! El Basha’s hummus is quite tasty!

I was looking for a good lunch spot in this part of town so thought I’d check this out. Shwarma sounded good — Iron Man wouldn’t lead me astray, would he? This one was a big miss for me. I got the beef shwarma with rice. The yellow rice was good and, um, did I mention the rice? The beef in the shwarma tasted like liver. I guess liver is sorta beef? The place looked very run down and dirty. So many other reviews seemed to love it so maybe I was just there on a bad day? But I won’t be going to back to find out.

The food is hands down the best i have had in my recent and somewhat short endearment for Mediterranean cuisine. And if the food was the only criteria then I would have happily given them a 4+. But the place clearly lacks good service. When I enter a restaurant I am accustomed to be received and placing order with the orderly. However, which clearly wasn’t the case here. I have seen this with other middle eastern restaurants but they usually receive u and take your order once you are seated. Anyway, after placing the order at the check counter, I expected my drink first followed by the meal. Which went the other way around. My husband had to get up in between his meal to remind the guy at the check counter, who seemed bewildered by our inquiry. Well, my rose tea did arrive just when I was about to finish my meal.

Delicious! Got the Mezza plate to go. It had a good mixture including hummus and babaganoush). Definitely want to go back and try some more items. Only complaint was I ordered the stuffed grape leaves and by the time I arrived at the restaurant they had sold out.

I went there the other week with classmates. The food was bland and nothing too surprising. They had good hummus and their meat was cooked really well. Rice was flavorful and my personal favorite but disliked the cinnamon. Overall it was decent I wouldn’t go back because of lack of flavor.

WOW! This food is absolutely amazing. The Felafel is very tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed my whole meal while there. The price is very reasonable and the service is wonderful. I’ll definitely be returning many times in the future.

I ordered the Mezza plate since it had such rave reviews. Maybe i caught the cook on a bad day, but the babaganoush and hummus was so incredibly tart, that I could not eat it. It tasted as if someone had dumped in an entire bottle of apple cider vinegar into it. I’ve had both many times before both in and outside of Omaha and I’ve never had super tart hummus nor Babaganoush, it truly was inedible and ended up throwing it out, tabbouleh was just ok as was the falafel, but I was so turned off by the sourness of everything on the plate, I just couldn’t eat it Thankfully i also ordered the gyro, which was pretty tasty, but i still like Jennie’s Greek Village better. Been there, had it, don’t need to go again. I gave 2 stars for the gyro and the service.

Consistently delicious over the past 10+ years. Service is a little slow, but the flavors and spices of the food are worth the wait.

I’ve been wanting to try El Basha for quite some time now and I was not disappointed! I had the gyro sandwich combo which all in all came to under $ 9 for fries, a huge sandwich, and a drink. The gyro was spicy and filling without being overwhelming. I will definitely be stopping back to try more of the menu. If you like Mediterranean food, you’re going to love El Basha.

El Basha was spur-of-the-moment selection driven by previous Unilocal reviews and we weren’t disappointed. It’s a great family-run Middle Eastern restaurant, although on that day it was freezing inside and they were running out of various items(to include cream for my wife’s Turkish coffee… she’s not a fan now of that coffee.) The good part is you get a lot of food for the price you pay and that’s a great change to what you normally get these days. All the vegetables were very fresh, although the lamb seemed a little over cooked… I like things more pink in the middle. The hummus and pita, which is how I distinguish between the real places and the wanna-bes, was fantastic and the pita nice and warm(which was great, because of how cold the place was!)

My wife is from Eastern Europe where there was a lot of Middle Eastern influence, especially with cuisine. According to my wife the food is very authentic and tastes almost just like the food where she comes from. For a regular guy from America, I thought the food was awesome. The restaurant itself is a little small, but is a good place to eat. We go there a lot and have always enjoyed ourselves.

I’ve been hearing good things about this place for years, so I finally stopped in to try it myself. I ordered the Gyro Combo which comes with fries and a drink. The gyros was very tasty. A little impossible to eat as a sandwich, but once you eat down the contents a bit with a fork you can pick it up and go at it. Gyros meat was cut in thick slices. It wasn’t dried out like it is at so many places that pre-cut it and then hold it. Tzatziki was good, but I got it everywhere. I’m a bit of a messy eater. I opted for no tomatoes on mine. I just don’t care for large chunks of cold tomatoes on most things I eat. Very decently portioned sandwich. It’s served with steak fries. They’re typically not my favorite type of French fry, but theirs were done well. I was sort of expecting some vinegar and Greek seasonings on them as it common at so many other Greek restaurants. I was a little disappointed these were plain fries. I did ask for them«well-done» and they complied. They do offer fresh-brewed iced tea and it’s pretty decent. It’s nice to add another restaurant to my list of places to get a good gyros. I’ve tried so many bad places over the last few years that finding a good one was refreshing. I’ll have to try some of their other Mediterranean cuisine selections when I’m feeling more adventurous. Dining room is too cramped. Too many tables in too small of a space. Restaurant is clean and well-maintained. I agree with Will that the parking lot at this restaurant makes no sense at all, but that’s the landlord’s fault and not El Basha’s.

Had Beef Shwarma over rice, awesome dish, great service and good price! Gyros are great, hummus is awesome. Atmosphere in the restaurant is good, always feels friendly! If you aren’t able to stop by, they do have delivery available through for a small fee. Anyway you slice it, this place has some amazing food!

Great spot for lunch! I came here with a few coworkers for lunch during our last week in Omaha. I was pleasantly surprised. My clients highly recommended this place, so we thought we’d give it a shot. We all got the gyro platter with salad. Everyone seemed to really like the salad dressing. I can’t say because the waiter forgot to give me mine before the rest of the plate came out. The plate itself was delicious, with a pretty hefty portion of meat and pita bread. I really liked how the meat wasn’t overly greasy. I was really hungry that day, but I still couldn’t finish the entire plate. It was big, delicious, and pretty cheap. It was pretty heavy for lunch, and made me sleepy the rest of the day. The only con I can think of is that the words on the menu are tiny, and require binoculars to read!

Time for an update! At the suggestion of a friend I made a special trip back here for the beef Schwarma salad… Good call. The experience left me wondering why we don’t come here more often. And tonight’s repeat visit cemented my lament. Think of all the wasted years I’ve lived so nearby and all the Lebanese delights I’ve missed out on. Well no more. As I listen to the dramatic song ‘habbeytak bessayf’ courtesy of the El Basha website(thanks Shazam for the reference!), I hereby vow that this place will no longer fly below my radar! Freakishly fresh and tasty vegetables, savory meat piles and the most beautiful hummus I’ve probably ever seen are par for the course at El Basha. So far the gyro, chicken schwarma wrap and above-mentioned salad are all way above par. I’m going to enjoy eating my way through this menu.
