So long story short I built a new computer. I was having trouble and got very frustrated when I hit the power button and mother happened. Turns out the power supply I ordered came with a bad plug for my graphics card. And my power on was set positive on negative and negative on positive on the motherboard. They figured this out and fixed it in less than 5 minutes while I watched. Then tried to not charge me. I tipped the guy 20 $ for the great service. There’s no question to why they are omaha’s best computer shop.

Dropped my laptop computer off before the holidays and am happy to report I picked it up a few days ago and it is running smooth with no data loss! Yeah! They even had parts on stock that I needed to replace. DIT was fast and efficient. I will definitely use again and again with any future comuter issues.

I’m not a computer specialist, just have to have a computer to do my job. Needed a new memory stick, so called around pricing pieces. At DIT, was quoted a price that was $ 10.00 less than Best Buy, but the piece was not in stock. Would be in by Friday. OK a three day wait was worth the money. On Saturday I stop in. The stick is the same price as Best Buy. When I complain, the counter guy calls me a liar. Everybody in the store knows the price. I was really shocked. I’ve never been treated like that in a place ever. They have lots of cool gadgets to buy, but I won’t be buying them. Not ever.

If it were possible to give no stars I would. This place is garbage. Period, end of story. An absolute must miss. I am not a disgruntled former employee, a long-time Omaha resident, or anyone with a beef. I am a summer visitor from Phoenix, where I have the privilege of shopping at Fry’s. It wasn’t so much that their return policy sucks(7 days no if and ‘s or buts), but they people in DTI are beyond words. Both times that I have been in one of the stores, I am told stories about the owner, Dyon Tang, being a «greedy, self-serving, Asian man». Being that I was in a pinch, I bought two parts, and attempted to return them several days later. After getting bad directions, and a wrong address, by a man who later to have claimed to work for DIT for several years, I tried to return the part, still wrapped, and unopened. This man was a disgusting man. A rather rude and sweaty fat man; reeking of cheap cologne, and with hair so greasy I could grease motor parts with it. Just disgusting. But, I digress… I was told that they«were just following the owner’s policy.» After which I got a(another) lengthy diatribe about the owner. This fat man was, as I said, very rude. I informed him that I would never shop at this store. He very arrogantly informed me that they had the best marks possible by the BBB equivalent. I told him that the internet is a more reliable source, and thus far, has been. I informed him that if Fry’s rolls into town, it’d be best for him to start looking for a new job. Bottom line: The customer service sucks. This place is run by a greedy self-serving Asian guy who operates his business in a heavy handed manner. If this place had any real competition, they’d be run out of town. For the duration of my stay, I will use the web for my technology shopping needs, and will wait the 1 to 2 days to get the parts rather than dealing with these ass-hats. Again, a MUSTMISS. Shame on you, Dyon Tang.

Honesty I trained if not half of these idiots that didn’t know what a motherboard was from a video card, terminology is not their strong point, regardless of my prospects to treat the customer with respect that is not what the owner wanted for his company image«funny thing he was only 23yrs old» and found very colorful ways to remove me from upper staff. regardless of the only local availability on parts and such lackluster service I will still rather shop online then buy substandard RMA parts sold as new. Disgruntled employee? not at all, just feel the customer deserves a better understanding when buying semi new products.

The unfortunate thing about DIT is that it has a lot going for it. For individuals like myself who enjoy building and working on computers, DIT is one of the only outlets in the Omaha area that can offer competitive prices to online retailers for motherboards, memory and everything else you need to build and service PCs. The reason this is unfortunate is because the staff, regardless of location, makes the greatest effort to make the customer feel like a complete idiot. I’ve had bad service before, but I have never been patronized to the degree that I have been doing business with DIT. If you’re looking for a computer store with good selection, plus employees who believe every one of their customers to be computer troglodytes, DIT is your place.
