Best burger in nebraska. I like this place better than stellas. You can watch your burger being formed and grilled, the fries are perfect, the homemade ranch is runny and delicious. Its cheeeeeap to boot. Like $ 6-$ 7 with a soda. Can’t beat this place.

First time here and the place was packed on a snowy Saturday. My date and I had a wonderful time. Our burgers? Perfection. The price was right too. We ordered our burgers, got seats at the bar, talked with the bartenders(Oliver and Dawn took care of us!), drank a Bud Light, watched football and DEVOURED our burgers. Seriously… Everything about this place is great. There was something so great and juicy about this burger. Thank you Dinkers for knocking it out of the park on this one. I will be back(and hopefully with a man who leaves a decent tip… apologies)!!

The actual room is much bigger than I expected. There are multiple long tables to sit at and a few smaller tables for people who want to sit by themselves. You walk in, order in the back right corner of the restaurant, find a table, and talk. If you want drinks, you order at the bar closer to the front of the store. I like the wooden tables and contemporary bar lights. It is a nice place to eat because there are TVs to watch sports, but they are not too overwhelming like som bars. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. It was delicious, however, I think it is time I ordered a burger with something more like a sauce. Anyway, the bacon was especially delicious because it had a lot of meat and was more cooked. The patty was thick, but I felt like the meat was a little fatty. I loved the pickle, lettuce, and tomato on top. The oven toasted bun was heaven. My dad and I both loved how it was not too much bread and warm. The fries were regular French fries and hot out of the fryer. My dad liked the onion rings because they seemed to be «real» and battered at the restaurant. His blue cheese bacon burger looked amazing and I wish I would have ordered one. All in all, it was a good burger and I definitely go again. OH! THEYONLYTAKECASH! Thankfully, I had some, but make sure you plan in advance!

Dinker’s burgers are fantastic! Casual, family friendly bar and grill. Bring cash as they don’t take cards.

Went to Dinkers for the first time after hearing for sooo long how good they were. We likely will not go back. Two staff members were rude and uninterested. Food was ok, but not Best in Omaha. The young gentleman bussing tables was really nice and helpful though. He was the only bright spot.

«Great bar food; burgers, steaks, all great in friendly atmosphere.» I’ve eaten at Dinker’s for over 25 years and love it more each time. Friendly informal service, food is hot and freshly prepared, and great value for the low prices.

AMERICANCHEESE! Sorry, I felt I needed to shout to be noticed above the other reviews here. Let’s start again: American cheese. That’s the cheese they use on their standard burger, which is all I ate. It’s a slice of processed cheese. Comes with it, have to ask special to have it not come at all, which I would have, had I known. It’s a damn tragedy because the meat is good, high quality stuff, the base for a potentially great burger. But no. I actually ate at this place over a year ago, but the cheese is all I remember. And look, I get that some people are into that. Sometimes low class is high cuisine, I totally understand. But I personally can’t forgive dragging down a high-quality piece of meat with some cheese made from plasticine or whatever the hell is in that stuff.(Is plasticine still a thing? Maybe only at Kraft). The fried egg, sure; you could also add some chili, imagine that sucker smothered in melty gruyère or havarti, holy craaaaaaaap. But hey, if you CAN forgive the cheese, then by all means go. Look at the other reviews — people love this place. My other problem is cash-only. And this turns out to be a fairly common issue amongst non-chain eateries in Omaha, so maybe it’s me. Maybe I need to recalibrate my expectations. But FYI, it’s cash only, which means you’ll have to bum a meal from your friends if you show up to this(really quite large) establishment without cash in your pocket. Hmmph.

I’ve heard about Dinker’s for years, but just never made it in. We tried one Sunday, but they’re closed all day. We finally made it back on a Friday night and it made my heart happy. This is a great place with a real sense of a neighborhood bar & grill, no frills & no drama. We played our Keno numbers and ordered beers first. I had to go with their signature Haystack and the love of my life ordered the BlueJay. I should say that we always order something different and split them so we get to try two things anytime we dine out together. Both were flavor explosions, but I preferred the Haystack that night. The saltiness in the ham is the perfect compliment to the egg & burger. The fries are no joke — thick cut and not too salty, great for dipping in ketchup. My babycakes got the onion rings and they’re great too — real crunchy and good flavor. Even though you go up to the grill to order your food, the waitresses still help you out with your drink order, bring you your order, and clear your plates when you’re done. There were only a few empty tables when we got there around 8 or so on. Friday and we barely waited for our food. Top notch!

Best burger in Omaha!!! The sign out front states that and I’m a believer. A local gem tucked away in an awesome location. If you’re craving a burger and fries or rings, this is the spot. Great neighborhood bar feeling in this place. You walk in to a very deep narrow bar and at first it can be overwhelming. My advice is to find a table, sit down and check out the menu. Sometimes you’ll be greeted by a server for drinks, sometimes you walk up to the bar and grab them. My kind of place. It’s self service when it comes to ordering near the rear of the establishment. You’re handed a number on a stand and your order will be brought to ya. Quickly too. The burgers here are just plain awesome. Lots of varieties and always perfect. Nice tender, fresh patties cooked to perfection. I could literally just annihilate my burger every time! Everything is super fresh and the onion rings are a great choice for side. Fries are good too. But them rings tho. This is my kids favorite burger place. They’re also experts.

WHOKEEPSCASHONHANDANYMORE??? Get a debit card machine, ASAP. Aside from the pure annoyance of «cash only». Burger was decent. I had the Buffalo burger & my spouse had a cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was not impressive and rather dry. The buffalo burger had good flavor & juicy! The fries are great!

Love this place. I tried Stella’s and your Cheeseburgers are 100% better. Love your onion rings and servers and cooks are very polite. Two can eat for under $ 20.00 Love coming here.

Staff is rude and dismissive like they don’t like their jobs or customers or both. Burger was dry and boring. I got my food fairly quick which saved them from a one star. It wouldn’t hurt to smile and greet their costumers. Instead i felt like a big inconvenience. Not omahas best burger. Would not recommend but if you do go bring cash.

The burgers are so-so. Like what you make at home. Or at least what I make. Nothing special about them. I defiantly don’t see what all the fuss is about this place or how they get rated to be such a great burger. There are at least 20 places that have a better burger than this joint. Not to mention the other places take debit or credit cards and don’t run an all cash under the counter business! I wonder how much profit here doesn’t get reported!

Awesome burgers! But its time to take credit or debit cards, plus standing in two different lines one for food then one for drinks? Time to change that.

Janet Yellen had never been to Dinker’s and wanted to go after media reports of its fiftieth anniversary. This update consists of Yellen’s views, but I agree. Yellen approved of the cash only policy. No surprise since she is the chair of the Federal Reserve and our currency consists of Federal Reserve Notes. Janet remarked at the efficiency of the lunch operation. Pay at the counter and the food is brought out fast. For lunch, one can get out quick if you need to. Yellen liked her initial Dinker’s burger and onion rings. She ranked it right behind Stella’s.

Finally got a chance to come here after hearing so many good things. The atmosphere was awesome. It’s basically a bar that serves really good burgers. I tried their Haystack burger which has a fried egg and a piece of ham on it. Pretty darn good. Burger was just a tad dry, kinda small compared to the other great burger place but had good flavor still. The ham was a very nice touch. Their onion rings are worth going again. Holy cow they were good. Easily some of the best I’ve ever had. Prices were awesome for the quality of food you get. Will definitely go back again.

I can’t believe I haven’t eaten at Dinker’s until just recently. As the other reviews have stated, Dinker’s is cash-only. There’s an ATM in the back, so it’s not a huge deal if you don’t have cash, but just come prepared. As others have also stated, there are two places to order from: Food counter and the bar. Obviously, you get food from the food counter, and drinks from the bar. I really didn’t mind this setup, as that way you don’t have to wait for folks ordering food if you just want a beer. To eat, I had the haystack burger and the onion rings. The onion rings were good, but could have used a little more salt. They were hand-bettered which is always a plus in my opinion. I didn’t think they were really anything special, but really not bad. I really enjoyed the Haystack Burger. I thought the cheese, ham, and egg all played well together and made for a great combination on top! From other reviews here, it seems like lack of seasoning and burgers made well-done are par for the course, so I was not surprised by that. The burger patty definitely needed more seasoning, and maybe a couple of minutes less on the grill. The saltiness of the ham made up for the under-seasoned patty, but it could have been better. All in all, I enjoyed Dinker’s! I would definitely come back and try other items on the menu!

Dinker’s Bar, let’s be friends. I’ve flown right past you countless times on the interstate, wondering how people ever manage to actually find you. The local legends and word of mouth were strong enough for me to seek you out. At long last. Even though I made at least four wrong turns trying to navigate my way to your humble doorstep, I made it. And I have to say I really enjoyed your signature Haystack burger — a 7 oz. patty topped with a fried egg, thinly-sliced ham and cheese — all served up fresh in your homy, neighborhood atmosphere. What others have said seemed to be true: your patties are cooked well-done and are slight on seasoning, but the other toppings made up for this, at least in my mind and belly. Your gizzards were chewy and crisp, as they should be. And your onion rings were flaky-greasy goodness and not heavily salted — perfection when dipped in a little ketchup. I’m bringing my family back sometime soon to meet you. Note: The cash only thing is fine — but please at least offer to give me a receipt next time.

Five years later and I finally get back to Dinker’s to try again. That being said, everything in my previous review still seems to be pretty spot on — except this time I enjoyed my burger less. I really want to like Dinker’s. And some people love the place,(sorry to you for what I’m about to say) but in my opinion Dinker’s isn’t anywhere near the best burger in Omaha. It’s not even in my top 10. There are just many other burgers in town I’d rather eat. The best thing going on our visit was surprisingly the rocky mountain oysters. Though I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat those either. All the other items we sampled, including the homemade onion rings, were all just okay. Mac & cheese bites, fries, gizzards… all just okay. Not really memorable. And the burger was truly subpar. This time I tried the signature Haystack burger and even ordered it up the special way. But either something was wrong with my taste buds or this thing was seriously lacking in seasoning. Yes, the ingredients were all there… American cheese, ham, egg, beef. Check, check, check. But a little bit of salt would’ve done wonders on this well-done burger. As far as «Omaha’s Best Burger» is concerned, that quote isn’t attributable to me. But I’m apparently in the minority here, so you might as well try for yourself.

I arrived a little late for the most recent CMYE and have vowed that if I am somewhere and am not going to have what the others are reviewing, Bloody Mary’s it will be. You may find yourself asking, Why? Things like do you even like Bloody Mary’s?, a stern ‘No!’ from me. My reasoning is that they have to be crafted. If you can make a good drink I have to assume your food is good. Last night Oliver killed it. he was slammed at the bar slinging beers like it was high noon in a rough town. Spicy and salted was spot on. No generic mix .No flair. The only gripe I have is Barton Vodka. That stuff should not be given to humans for consumption. They will hold your credit card for an open tab, but you still have to go to the ATM and get cash. It’s only a paltry $ 1.75 fee, but it is a little sketchy dealing only with cash
