Maybe I’m spoiled, but our local Chevron will turn the air compressor on whether we pump gas, buy a soda or purchase nothing.
We had no cash and had just pumped gas and asked the young man at the counter if they had air. We mentioned we had no cash and rather than offering a solution, he said, «Sounds like you’re stuck.»
We went to a neighboring fuel station that was happy to help, even though we’d pumped our gas up the road at a competitor. Guess where I’ll stop next time (no matter what the price of gas).
