The three $$$ rating is accurate as nothing here is cheap in price… That said nothing here is cheap in quality! The customer service is top notch as well. About to chow down on some cod and salmon burgers topped with their house tarter sauce. While its cooking we will be munching on the smoked king candy as well. Tony was a fantastic host and made the buying experience very friendly!

Excellent Seafood Market! The variety is so great you can get anything you want practically as far as seafood goes here. The place is hopping on weekends, maybe even during the weekdays too but if you wait your turn you are in store for some amazing seafood!

Great select, but all the seafood is a bit pricey. Excellent service from the staff and they clean the crab free of charge.

So, I am a long-time and frequent customer of this place, and need to shout out that it simply rocks. The owners Tony and Kira have poured themselves into making this the kind of small business that redeems your faith in America. Plus the Mongers are all friendly and good at their jobs. The one drawback to seafood of this quality is that much of it is rather expensive. That is not the fault of OSC though — they are paying high prices to their suppliers too. And the good news is that you CAN find affordable seafood here. If you are on a budget, try the cod cakes and the packaged seaweed salad or calimari salad from the cooler case. The salad shrimp are also not too spendy. The crab cakes are famous, and the jars of oysters are always fresh and shouldn’t break your budget. You can bet that the seafood in the case will be fresh, tasty and caught in a fishery that isn’t plundering the oceans. I’ve never tried the clam chowder. The lox are excellent, if you like those on bagels for breakfast. They make a very good tartar sauce, though in my experience tartar sauce is like potato salad; different folks like different types. For salmon, look for the cuts that are bright and firm, without any of the filet coming apart a bit. And don’t be afraid to ask for advice — the mongers rarely steer you wrong. I usually arrive without knowing what I will get, and let the seafood guide me. Final tips: get the punch-card. You save five bucks after a certain number of punches.(I have no idea how many. Maybe too much seafood makes you forgetful). And get on the mailing list for the monthly email. Kira always includes some mouth-watering recipes. The web site has an archive of them too — a great resource for seafood recipes. You go, Mongers.

We have just moved to Washington from Texas. Like any good researcher, I did my homework on the local markets to get the best of the best. I found OSC online and thought it pretty neat and worth a visit. The seafood looked fresh and the staff were educational and friendly. What I was not prepared for was HOWAMAZINGTHESMOKEDSALMONDIPWAS!!! I found it in the refrigerated case and bought it on a whim expecting it to be like any other salmon dip I have ever had. I WASSOWRONG. This little $ 5 tub of salmony goodness is GOLD!!! The smoked salmon is chunky! That’s right… Chunky!!! You can actually bite into chunks of deliciously smoked salmon. There are little bits of cream cheese throughout the dip too so it is more of a dip than a cream cheese flavored with salmon. OMG, the first bite of that dip actually took my breath away. Seriously, the fresh seafood is AWESOMETOO, BUTTHATDIPISWHEREITSAT!!! It was beyond delicious. I will be buying lots more of that lovely goodness, as well as all my seafood from there. I did also buy some crab meat yesterday and plan on making it for lunch. I’m sure it will be fabulous! If you haven’t tried the dip, take a swing at it. $ 5 for the tub! Your taste buds will thank you profusely!

Olympia seafood company consistently carries the very best fish available. If the fish is not absolutely excellent, they won’t have it

The only time I am disappointed is when they are out of crab cakes! OSC has a great selection of fresh and frozen seafood at a reasonable price. If you are looking for fish or shellfish and you want quality(not supermarket), then I recommend going to OSC!

This place is AMAZING. Expensive, but AMAZING. If you want fresh seafood, the kind that if its cooked properly will bring you to your knees in culinary ecstasy, this is the place. Honestly, you are better off coming here and cooking at home than going to Anthony’s. You will spend a little bit less, but it will be SOMUCHBETTER. I have not bought any of their pre-made food, but I hear it is delicious as well. If you want to buy fresh raw clams, mussels, salmon, tuna, scallops, halibut, salmon jerky, and other fresh seafood, this is the place. We got a bunch of steamer clams, and they had already been sanded(where they put them in water and have the clams eject sand, so when you eat them they are not gritty!!) and also scrubbed them. We cooked them for Christmas dinner, with a butter vermouth sauce. We bought four pounds for 5 people thinking it would be way too much(we also had smoked pork chops from Stewarts and lots of sides), but there were only a couple clams left! We ate so much, they were so freakin delicious. Seriously amazing. This is the ONLY place I buy seafood from when I am making a dinner that really matters.

This is as good as it gets for top of the line seafood, service, quality of food, you name it. I stopped by recently for some pacific rock cod for some killer fish tacos. Everyone had a smile on, the kids were in awe of the sights, sounds and smells and it seems as though all the workers knew everyone in the store by name. The girl behind the counter offered to pull the small bones out of the cod — Hell yeah! Less work for me and I always miss some! Plus she was nice enough to give me ice for the quick trip home on the hot day. No chance of spoiling here! I’ve gotten a bit of everything from here and it’s always prepped up with a smile and terrific to eat. I’m adding this place to my bi weekly grocery shopping stop. You need to go here if you haven’t already. 5 stars for killer customer service, the best seafood in town, great selection, great prices for what you get, great atmosphere, great location. Grab a calamari and seaweed salad to take back to the office. Better yet, eat it while sitting on a bench on the boardwalk. Grab crab cakes or salmon cakes for a quick dinner. Grab a cioppino pack(they will put it together for you) and a can of seafood broth to make a tasty dinner. Or go for it and get fresh crab to take home. This place is a treasure. Patronize them. Keep them here.

Love this place! If you’re from hawai’i like us, this is where you can get some fresh ahi to make poke. The crab cake is so delicious! The clam chowder is so filling & creamy. The oysters were also good! Our favorite place to get our seafood, especially our poke fix.

I didn’t have time to buy fish today, but I did stop in for some clam chowder. The small size was more than enough for me. Delicious! Thick, creamy, clam flavor throughout with nice sized pieces of clam. The fish in the cases was unbelievably fresh. I was also happy to see I could buy live dungeness crabs! I will definitely return for my seafood needs!

This place is totally amazing!!! I’m from California, we don’t have seafood like this!!! The guys that work there are sooooo incredibly kind & knowledgeable, and the prices are GREAT! They also have blackening spices for sale, and since I’ve been searching for a good spice mix, I bought some of theirs, my blackened salmon turned out AMAZING! One of the guys is a really good cook & explained how to cook some of the items I bought…(cod cakes, salmon cakes, and a massive piece of sockeye salmon). They also had tons of live crabs in tanks. it doesn’t get any fresher than that! I’m definitely addicted to this place & plan on coming back every time I’m visiting the area!

If I could give this place six stars, I would. I’ll admit: I’ve never BEEN there. Friends have a boat in the marina there, and so I’ve had the things they bring home. The crab cakes are absolutely, positively, no-doubt-about it f*cking fabulous. The quality and value of a crab cake can tell you ALL you want to know about a place. And the crab cakes are HUGE, THICK, and CRABILISCIOUS. A wonderfully light, moist but NOT mushy mixture that is MOSTLY crab(imagine that! In a crab cake!). The devine light flavor of the fresh crab shines through, supported with hints of garlic and onion. I was distraught that we are so far away(here in Salem, OR) that we’d only get to have them once in a blue moon. But… they publish their recipe! Seriously?! Yes. (I KNEW they used panko!!) I will make these again and again and again, but when I am in Olympia, I will gladly purchase them(and lots more) from them, in a never-paid up debt for giving the world the best crab cake EVER.

Visited here for the first time to buy a piece of halibut which is my wife’s favorite because I was cooking her Valentine’s Day dinner. The service was great and my wife said it was the best tasting halibut she had ever tasted. Very fresh. We will be going back often.
