Sometimes I want a fancy, veggie topped, hippie dippy pizza on whole wheat crust, and other times I want to down a couple slices of cheap, hot, cheesy goodness with an ice cold beer. For those latter times I come to this place. The customer service is crap and the whole place is covered in graffiti but it’s a local business that doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is, and the slices are delicious.

The epitome of local downtown business. Their BBQ chicken pizza is top notch.

The price is great — the slice I get is $ 2! It is quick, the staff accommodate my relatively need request of how hot to make it every time. It has become an Olympia institution, I was a fan at it’s old location in the 90s, and am a fan today. The pizza is a west coast take at NY style pizza, is it exact, no, is it close — yes. Have you had better pizza in your life, probably, worse? With out a doubt. Better than anything dowtown(sorry pizza time), and in my opinion I like it more than Vic’s — although comparisons are unfair because Vics is for hippies and Old School is for punks. The atmosphere caters to your inner 80s rocker/punk. So if you are a stuffy old dude in his 60s or 70s, with out a sense of humor or humility — probably not for you. You should try Brewery City Pizza on the west side probably. But if you like a cheap slice, cold beer, and eclectic environment — this is the place. Minus one star for smelling like ass once in a while. Plus a million stars for staying open and feeding the homeless on Thanksgiving and Christmas. This place is the goods, and cares about downtown in the most humane and money where your mouth is manner possible.

Horrible service — mediocre pizza. Ordered ahead — they lost the order — reordered drove downtown and waited for 20 minutes before finding out they lost the order again. Waited out in my car because, as many people have said, this place is permeated with the smell of body odor. Obviously the staff are all wasted out of their minds. No apologies or consideration for the screwup. It all might have been worth it if not for the fact that the pizza was greasy and dull. So if you like smelly, bumbling pot-heads and so-so pizza, this is your place.

Being from Chicago, its tough here in Washington. Love the State, the Mountains, the fishing the hunting… but until I found this joint I was suffering. Most joints you get a pie at want $ 25 for sauce and cheese, and half of them are«Totino-esque» Old School pizza made my day, as its a pretty damn good pie! Love the One Ton, love the price, and love the Old School posters all over the walls. A medium usually feeds me and the wife, and leaves a slice for the first lucky street person to hit me up. Hey, its not Nardi’s, Dominicks, or Venuttis, but its the closest I could find in the PNW.

I”m not a fan. I’m 58 and the gal taking my order wanted to «school me» on which topping I should have on my Pizza. I just move to Oly, and I’ve found that Vic’s and Dirty Dave’s are better choices.

Really good thin crust pizza. The sausage and garlic pie was on point. Garlic knots were made with garlic powder and not real garlic, dropping the review to 4 stars.

Pizza at this place was legit and the theme and decorations definitely brought me back to my childhood in the 80’s…but…the whole place smelled like feet. -(213)

One time after a few beers, I asked to purchase their giant Iron Maiden poster for $ 300, which I had in cash on hand. They said no. I got really butthurt about that for a couple years. But the pizza is great, so 5 stars!

Don’t judge the Old School on first appearance or music selection, but on fantastic pizza and garlic knots. Damn those delicious garlic knots(that often sell out). And the owner really cares about the food he is serving as well as his local community. Solid place run by a stand up dude. True Oly original. And the best damn pizza anywhere near here!

Pretty sure I’ve reviewed before. I love the funky ambiance, old music posters, hip staff and homemade pizza. Great date night. Family friendly too.

Fairly cheap and serves the sort of greasy but delicious pizza you’d expect from this type of establishment. Last time I was here with my girlfriend, we were asked for a name for the order. I was going to say my name, but the lady at the counter decided to write my girlfriend’s name instead because of the patriarchy or something. Not at all bothered by that, but my name is significantly shorter. Just sayin’! Unique atmosphere and personality. Unapologetically Olympia. Five stars!

Great pizza, they know where to put the toppings, good service, and clean. I wish they would serve us our drinks… And a lil speedy. But good

Overall wonderful. I got the Nuge and Tree Hugger(with roasted garlic, spinach, mushrooms, artichoke, and added feta) and both were great. The only things I didn’t like were that the Nuge didn’t feel as meaty as other similar pizzas, not sure why, but I liked that it was chopped up so you didn’t pull off extra when you bite into it. For the Tree Hugger, my only issue was the middle of the pizza(the tips of the slices) was a little soggy, so it flopped over when holding it even with the fold. My favorite parts were everything else. The spices and mix of the meats was perfect. The top 2 things were the roasted garlic and the crust. The price was also good, ptetty much standard for what you get. I would definitely come back, and likely will.

Love this place pizza is always great. I use to come here in highschool and get the individual slices, I like that they do that all day not just during lunch like some places. Probably my favorite pizza place is Olympia. Also there are archades!

Old School, I fuckin love you guys. We go way back… Back to when Ruby and Gabe worked here 10 years ago. You go up to the counter, buy your slice or pie, take a seat, and wait for the sweet and surly, adorable yet grungy employee to throw your slice down and holler your name. I swear there is an archetype for all of these employees. It’s like they never change. I love it. So comforting. The slices are always a wonderful variety, with 3 rotating options. The other day I had eggplant parm with pomadoro sauce, and a sausage, ricotta, and roasted garlic slice as well. My mother had thick Sicilian crust with marinated tomato, basil, and onion. They were fantastic and really hit the spot, as usual. Beers were on point as well… Nice variety of local Northwest options. Mmmm! I have to say, I’ve really missed Old School. I’ve lived all over, Boston, LA, Oly, and truly nothing compares to Old School. It’s as much about the food as it is the experience. Those old vinyl booths, the sun bleached posters, the full stock of Olympia beer, and of course the impossibly cool kids working the counter. Heart you Old School. Never change.

I got the sun dried tomato, spinach, garlic and feta pizza. It was good. I really like the thin crust. I had to go to the bathroom and it was disgusting! The rest of the place was okay, a little funky, but that’s Olympia. I think I would come here again.

Their Pizza is more unique than a generic chain pizza place, but doesn’t stand out as super special. The crust has good flavor and texture, but it’s as thin as two pieces of construction paper stacked. How they roll it that flat without it tearing is beyond me. Floppy and barely existent. The sauce is okay tasting, stingy amount. The toppings are what made the pizza alright. I ordered it by the slice, it was huge and draped over the edges of the classy paper plate it is served on. The food was hot without being dried out. Props to that. Fast, too. The price is right. The pizza hit the spot for under $ 4.00. The atmosphere is divey. The walls were once covered in 80’s and early 90’s pop culture posters and memorabilia that are now faded, Torn and molested by ages of abuse and neglect. ~Not to mention some are unappetizing images. The tables and booths are covered in graffiti. I guess the bathroom ran out of tagging space. Oh, yes, the bathroom. There is no changing space for your child’s diaper.(That was fun.) The tables were not bussed. None of them. The condiments are greasy and and caked with residue. I always feel like a may retract a disease here. Sticky floors, tables and seats. There really isn’t «customer service» to Unilocal about. You order, prepay and the rest is all you.(Including bussing the prior guest’s table.) I’m not telling you not to come here and I am not recommending it to you, either.
