Heritage Park Fountain

This is such a fun park. The water fountain shoots up to maybe twenty feet in the air in random patterns. The trees are cherry trees and lovely in the spring. On hot days this park is PACKED, but then you can walk around the corner to Traditions or Grandpa’s to get some ice cream. An Oly institution.

What a fun place! I love that this fountain was designed so people could play in it! When the fountain is not on it looks like a plaza with holes around the perimeter. When it’s on – watch out! Jets of water shoot up quickly! It’s a lovely water feature and a nice spot to visit in Olympia. Heritage Park Fountain is very nice during the summer! Crowds of people enjoy the spray in the hot months. When it isn’t hot outside the fountain is nice to watch. Kids love the fountain in all weather. I have seen many play in the fountain in the rain!
The fountain is active until 9pm. The lights near the water jets illuminate the water creating an impressive show.
The only downside is the darn thing can be very difficult to photograph. It’s very hard to show how impressive the water jets are in person. I definitely recommend a visit. Heritage Park Fountain is a place I always show out-​of-​towners.
The fountain is closed on Wednesdays for maintenance.
