This is as fun place to shop! They have a nice variety of produce and the prices are fair. They carry many kinds of apples and squash. If you have a favorite that they don’t have on hand, just ask. They’ll be sure to have it next time. Great location, love the outdoor farmers market feel, and especially love this very nice family. They take pride in their quality. They take good care of their customers.

I recently discovered this little gem in Olympia(pretty darn close to the Lacey/Oly border). While not on any main road I take it is so close to my regular path(and yours too, I bet!!) that it is worth the quick detour. They buy from local growers and producers and always have something new in stock. Right now(Autumn) they have yummy chanterelle mushrooms and fresh oysters on Thursdays. The veggie selection is great and the bacon is D-E-licious. If you have not checked this place out then you are missing out!

Good selection, good prices and friendly employees– but the best part of the George and Sons experience is George! I love that guy! Very helpful, kind and HILARIOUS! He will also cheerfully help you pick out a fantastic watermelon!

The problem with eating lots of fruits and vegetables is that they tend to be expensive. Not so here, if you shop smart. We got oranges for less than $ 0.50 a pound, apples for $ 0.36 a pound, and great huge heads of lettuce for $ 2. I don’t shop here for produce that I want to display, but if you don’t mind that it doesn’t look perfect(like for green smoothies) it is fantastic. We walked away with four huge shopping bags for about $ 35.

Fresh fruits and veg are probably the healthiest things that I eat. Problem is they don’t usually last from one big grocery store shopping trip until the next. It is nice to have a convenient place to restock every several days or maybe every week. Here is what I like about George and Sons: — Very convenient location, close to exit 107, Pacific, and Martin Way in east Oly. It is easy to get in and out of and they take debit cards. — Good hours, and open 7 days a week. –Good selection. — They sell locally grown produce when they can get it.(To the other reviewer: Guess what? There is no mango farm in Olympia, that I am aware of. Also, local tomatoes are available only certain times of year and to compete with grocery chains, you have to offer tomatoes year round, from somewhere!) To stock items only grown locally, the selection would be very limited and seasonal — like most of the vendors at the farmer’s market. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. — Here I have never seen rock-hard pears, nectarines, peaches, and green bananas etc. like many grocery stores sell.(I have yet to find a ripe pear at Freddy’s) However, there is a lot of fruit here that is fully ripe, so it has to be eaten soon. So if you are buying something that you want to ripen over the next week, this might not be the place to go.

Yes this is a local family doing business with local citizens but the last time I was there they were selling tomatoes from Mexico and Canada, and I think Mango’s from New Zealand. Not exactly local goods. Now I will say that I’ve seen some local soaps, some higher quality milk, and possibly a local bakery’s bread. I haven’t been in a while because on a warm day and god forbid a hot day it’s like a sauna in their outside buildings, and like some of my produce kept cold for the preservation factor. So far I have not seen evidence of local farm grown tomatoes, squash, corn, etc. So it’s a local business who seems to buy from a mass food supply.

This is a great fruit stand. The owners are very friendly and knowlegable. They’ve got a great selection, a lot of it local. They try to promote local businesses. They have plenty of parking-even when its busy. Great sales and promotions. I’m here at least once a week
