I have no idea how this place has such few reviews! This is legit Indian food cooked by a non Indian. Everything is delicious but I love the chicken curry and the channa Masala the most. The service is quick and the people nice! Definitely stop by if you are in Olympia over the weekend.

Curry in a Hurry operates out of a small chop shop stand outside the Farmer’s Market. Your expectations should reflect the look of the small restaurant. It’s not the best Indian food by any means, but I also do not believe they believe they are either. This is a place for decent indian curry that’s pre-made, thus fast, at an affordable price and hits the spot when it’s 30 degrees outside.

Bland, bland, bland. I cannot stress enough how unpleasantly bland this stand is. Stay away.

I went to Curry in a Hurry today to get my chai and pakora fix. The amount of pakoras in an order is large for me so I always share with my children. The pakora fritters are nice and crispy on the outside with tender potatoes and other vegetables on the inside. I am addicted to the chai. I always get the 20 oz. It’s nice to sit and relax at Curry in a Hurry’s small table, munch on pakoras, and sip my steaming hot chai. You get the chai almost immediately because they make chai by the gallon early in the morning and put it in a large insulated container near the ordering window. Water is free and they don’t care if you fill up water bottles from their water container. They have switched to a Winter Menu. That means no samosas or shrimp vindaloo, but they still have some of my other favorites: potato and pea curry and daal. This place now takes debit and credit cards.

It’s curry, and it’s fast! It’s a cornerstone of the Oly Farmers Market. Get your curry fix here. UPDATE: 2014 has brought a downward turn to both quality & flavor. It appears they are serving regular white rice instead of basmati rice. This is cheaper in cost but it brings down the experience, since this is not Chinese food. My chick pea dish seems to be tired from being reheated from yesterday? This has happened more than 3x so I am giving up until they notice and correct the problem. Please do!

Eh. My wife and I tried this place on a spring weekend visit to the Farmer’s Market and were unimpressed. We got the all vegetarian sampler and thought it was pretty bland. The ambiance is nice being right at the market, but we would not go here again.

My food was ready within 30 seconds, but my «naan» was definitely made of flattened croissant dough with some butter on top. It was probably out of a Pilsbury can. The chicken curry was okay and drinks are free for active duty military.

I eat at this stand in the Farmers Market once every couple of years. It’s just okay, and it doesn’t really taste like authentic Indian food(adding curry powder to food doesn’t make it Indian).Today I had the chicken curry, and it was nothing to jump and and down about. When I was a kid I lived in England(my parents were English), and we used to get incredible curry. Also, my grandfather was in the British army stationed in India — so my mom learned to make great curry(although, later in life she started throwing any old leftovers in the fridge into the curry sauce). Curry In A Hurry also serves shrimp vindaloo(their hottest dish), channa masala(garbanzo bean curry), alumutter(potato and pea curry), vegetable curry, vegan plates, samosas, pakoras, etc. If you’re thirsty, they have chai, mango lassi, and lemonade.
