Terrible customer service. I walk in on a Tuesday evening with the intent of purchasing a canvas. First thing as I walk through the door was the lady at the register, standing there with no customer, who could not even manage a hi or hello. I gave her the benefit of the doubt assuming she was having a bad day. I get my canvas, walk to the register and notice the same cashier lady chatting away with her coworker. I look over at either of them to signal I was ready and they continued for a good 30 seconds, laughing away, as I waited. When she comes over, again, no hi or hello, not even a smile, and when she hands over my receipt I say«thanks» and she just looks at me and walks away. I was annoyed at this point. I had to ask quickly if I at least get my canvas wrapped up, or even a bag, so it wouldn’t have to get wet in the rain? And this idiot cashier, with no decorum whatsoever nonchalantly says they don’t cover up canvases. I have never experienced such poor customer service in all my life. I have been frequenting their Southcenter location and my visits here were so awesome not only because of their unique finds but because of the quality of customer service I experience each time. They are so friendly, helpful and honest about their products/materials and it is this same top notch service that has allowed my husband and I to make rather large purchases throughout the years with no regrets. Would I do the same with their Olympia location? Hell no. All thanks to the tall, lanky and curly haired cashier. Management, if you’re reading this, please get rid of this young lady. She’s giving your store a bad rep and is throwing all your customers away.

I visited this location today and was really surprised how the store looked. I was very messy and unorganized. Their were boxes everywhere. It actually looked like the store was in the process of just opening. The merchandising made no sense. As far as service goes there wasn’t any. The only staff I saw was a cashier in the front. I have been here a few times over the past few years– usually I like to browse around for an hour or so and look at all the decorating ideas. Today I left after 10 minutes. Idk what is going on at this store but it is not good.

Tons of stuff in here, some junk, some not. I like to go when I need a small present for someone, or just something fun. Great for party favors or stocking stuffers. I really like the international food section. Their service set up seems dated, check out is usually very slow, even when it’s not very busy(it’s a HUGE store). I think the most employees I have ever seen at once was 3.

A fun place to find eclectic food, wine, furniture, candy, gifts, kitchen accessories and even toys. It’s worth the stop just to browse!

Hard to find a sales associate when you need help. I prefer the one in Tacoma. Friendlier staff there.

This whole corporation is a bit shady. I went in yesterday to pick up a filter cup, and noticed all the lids were broken or chipped. There were no undamaged items. I brought it up front with some other things I was buying and asked what backstock was available. The cashier checked the inventory and chuckled that there was«–4» in inventory.(Unprofessional, I also don’t care how gortched up your inventory might be.) I then requested a discount. He offered 10%. Then 15. I asked for 20. He refused, noting that the functionality of the cup isn’t compromised.(Yes it is – the lid was broken.) I work in a CGMP certified facility, and need a mug with lid for work. Letting my emotions get the best of me, I naively paid $ 5.09 for a broken cup. And left behind 15 more broken cups on the shelf. Damaged items should be pulled from the shelves and/or put on clearance. Not discounted 10%. That’s just an insult. Today I was looking up their customer service line to talk to someone more about this. If you do a Google search, there’s a string of employee mistreatment complaints, 54BBB complaints, and entire websites devoted to airing this company’s misgivings. They always kind of felt like a skeevy big box store, but now I have more insight into their disappointing business practices.

Came here to check out a couple items that I found on the World Market website and was incredibly impressed by this store. First of all, it’s huge. I’ve been to a couple other World Market’s around the country and they were much smaller than this one. And the merchandise is incredibly diverse, interesting, and stylish — everything from furniture and décor, to food and wine, to kitchen items. The prices seemed to be reasonable and the staff offered to help me find what I was looking for. I also was impressed that they seemed to carry quite a bit of their online items in store, which was nice so I could see everything in person. I will definitely be coming back here.

A big chain store, but the employees here have always been friendly and easy to find if I’ve had questions or needed help. They have regular sales on furniture and home décor, which is the only time I make big purchases, since they are a bit expensive otherwise.

I absolutely love cost plus. Their decorations and stuff is unique and expensive, but the real reason why I come here is for the food! They have food, snacks, and candy from all over the world which is cool if you’re craving that random candy you loved in Prague, but you can’t find it anywhere in the US. I also discovered that their beer and wine are crazy cheap! They have a modest selection of beer, but it’s surprisingly cheap compared to everywhere else. Come here if you want to try the flavors of the world at a pretty great price. PS what’s up with the weird entrance?

This store may be a little overpriced than some other home decorating stores out there but at least they sell stuff that’s made elsewhere in the world other than China. Their selections for rugs are beautiful and priced just right. They also have some nice selections for seating and dining sets. It is also my go-to place for table setting pieces. Their service is also great, there’s always someone willing to help. Every time we drive over to the mall, this is one of the stops we make.

Even though the employee helping me didn’t know where stuff was… I love World Market; its combination of fun home stuff and good prices is unbeatable.
