My family took me there for my birthday. My wife and I had the barbecue garlic prawns, and red potatoes which was excellent. This was my second time at this restaurant, I would highly recommend this restaurant, located downtown near the bay and the state capitol.

Great place for drinks and appetizers or a big dinner. Not a huge menu, but what they do they do well. The crab dip is excellent. The pork chop it top notch(when they have it) and the seasonal berries add a great northwest flare to drinks and dinners alike. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. Did I mention the view? Best view in Olympia.

We had a great dinner here. Three fish dinners and chicken pasta were all good and well portioned. Wonderful sunset. Our server was very attentive. Pretty much any table has good views –the patio being the best. You should have a good time here.

«All show and no go!’ best describes this restaurant. Beautiful location and view, nice décor albeit a bit drab, and woefully lacking in both food and service. The waiter came to the table initially to get drinks, but one of our party was in the restroom. Upon our return, he took everybody’s drink order except mine. What was I — chopped liver? The drinks came and the white wine and local craft beer were good. Two salmon plates were order and I asked for the tomato basil soup and salad with a side of special preparation(grilled without oil) vegetables. Presentation was decent for the salmon although the two plates were not identical — one had a very nicely present field greens salad and the other a few leaves tossed onto the plate. However the lackluster presentation, the salmon was fresh and well prepared. My bisque was tepid and uninspired, the salad was a few greens with a nut piece or two, and the plate of vegetables was half a dozen measly bits of chop. The cost was $ 98 for three. Expensive? Quite. Would I return or recommend, No!

Quite a disappointment got sat out on the deck that was nice. Stuck out on the end where we couldn’t be seen maybe our money wasn’t good enough for them. Both of us got the rib eye the most expensive item on the menu. Expecting a great steak one of them was good the other was a mess of gristle. The worst part was being ignored till we had finished everything else even had to ask a busboy for more water. By the time our waiter got to us we where way beyond frustrated paid and left. Lesson learned I guess never going back.

As I walk in the door the girl taking names for setting looked up at us and put her head down. I was like I need a table for two. And gave her a name. Other people walk in and she was talking and very polite to them. The lady who seated us was very nice. I told her we drove from Napa CA. And I have not eating here in over 10 years. They guy who served us was great at his job. Very polite man. I live in Napa where food and customer service is very important. I own my own business and I would get rid of the girl in front. Treat all paying customers with respect.

Best Happy Hour in town! Best view in town! Those are two great attributes for a restaurant such as Hearthfire to posses. While more emphasis is placed on steak than seafood, both are in ample supply with a high-class atmosphere to match. The level of service has been exceptional and will keep me coming back. And let’s not forget the view. This has to be one of the best sweeping waterfront views around, definitely in Olympia. It might be a little on the pricey side for a regular spot to have an after work cocktail, but definitely worth it for a memorable experience every time you visit.

My husband and I came here on a partly cloudy Saturday afternoon around 2pm. There were only a few tables with people sitting at them so it was a little weird when the hostess asked for our name and told us the wait would be a few minutes. Anyways, after a short wait, we were sat at a table right next to the window over looking the water. We received water immediately and our waitress arrived promptly. We ordered two beers and two entrees. Our beers didn’t come out until out food did, which was a little disappointing. However, the waitress comped our drinks since they took forever to get out to us. Our food was pretty delicious. Their lunch menu is pretty limited but I found something to eat right away — the seafood Mac n cheese. It was scrumptious and I mopped up the left over sauce with the complimentary flatbread they served us. My husband had the crab toast(I think that’s it’s name) and it was great. He was served four pieces of toast with a generous amount of crab on top. Very filling and yummy! The visit was pretty typical for an Anthony’s, one which we enjoyed the food and the view.

Pros: waitstaff was great! Hostess smiled and seated us quickly, cleared the table of not needed silverware and glasses. Busboy filled out water quickly and kept it full. Waitress was nice and checked on us regularly. The flatbread was delicious and the view was beautiful. Cons: the lunch menu is tiny. A total of twenty items, and mostly similar to one another. The food took quite a while to come out. The soups were both very sweet(corn and crab chowder and French onion soup), any sweeter and they could have passed for dessert. The steak was dry on one side as if it had been left on the grill too long, and the other side was a little too bloody(we had asked for medium). There was so much relish on the burger you couldn’t even taste the meat, which actually had great flavor. The fries were fresh out the bag from McDonald’s and they added salt to personalize it. Best part of the experience was the people. The staff here are wonderful.

Their food is not bad and their restaurant location is awesome, but they are the only nice large restaurant in town. There are a view small nice restaurants, but this is the closest place you get to something like a Cheesecake factory or something like that. MY biggest issue is the service; they are always busy but every time I have gone, I have felt that I spent more time waiting for the waiter then actually enjoying myself. This place is best in the summer and to sit outside.

The hostess at 1 on Sunday 4÷17÷16 was RUDE. My husband and I ask to sit outside. We had traveled 5 hours and picked this restaurant to eat lunch. She replied, «I have no opening’s, and it is an indefinite wait. Go sit in the bar.» Okay. I excused myself to go the restroom and my husband took a table in the bar. I peeked out on the outdoor patio and there were 2 tables open and 2 parties getting up to leave. We bought 1 drink and headed to the Fish Brewery where we were greeted with a huge smile, sat out in the sun and had great customer service with a extraordinary lunch!

Outstanding experience! I had the steak and prawns, my wife had the halibut. Both were excellent, well prepared and timely. The steak and prawns had excellent spice, the halibut had the best herb butter. Our service from Jasmine was wonderful, the manager Mike Martyn came by to check on us and was extremely knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. We finished our evening with a rhubarb slump that was so fresh, and a perfect balance of tart and sweet.

Came here with the planning team after wrapping up a successful event. Environment: It’s absolutely beautiful beyond imagination. I felt like I was on a boat. This place has very large windows that wrap around the restaurant. My favorite part about eating at this place was the environment. Definitely a place you have to check out if you’ve never been here before. Quality of food: Pretty good. It’s not super fancy. It’s a step up from your standard American grill place. The price is so affordable. Ranges from $ 10-$ 15. You normally have to pay $ 20+ to eat at a place with this kind of water front view. Quality of service: Excellent. They waitress was friendly and very accommodating to our changing needs. They were flexible and delightful.

We came here for a belated Valentines day date… The ambience was lovely and the service spectacular and attentive. I enjoyed the roasted prawns(AMAZING) and my fiancé got the salmon special… which was nearly $ 50 and nothing really to write home about, unfortunately. So we will get something else next time. The view was great too… that marina is spectacular. They seem to have a good happy hour so that would be worthwhile especially as the sun is setting! Definitely a gem in Olympia.

So of all the places that I thought I would have a good, decent meal it would be here. Unfortunately, I was completely wrong. There are so many different ways that this meal went wrong. First it started with the poor service. I don’t know if this was due to the fact that our server had too many tables, or because she simply didn’t care, but we were left feeling extremely neglected and ignored. Our table wasn’t greeted for a full 10 – 15 mins. After our drink order was taken, we didn’t received said drinks for at least 20 mins. I understand that the restaurant can be busy, the bar may be backed up, but no explanation was given for the slow delivery. Following this, she stated that she would immediately return to take our entrée order. However she didn’t return for another 10 mins. Not only did our appetizer arrive before our drinks did, but she still got one of the orders wrong and returned 10 mins later with the correct one. When our food finally did arrive, the server never attempted to check and see if the food was cooked to the correct temperature; which it was most definitely not. I have worked in the service industry for over 6 years, and know good service when I see, and experience it. I got more frustrated when I was charged an exorbitant amount for sub par food. I will not be returning. And it’s unfortunate that this is considered a «decent» place to find a good meal.

This is one of my favorite date night locations. Dim lights, tasty cocktails, great wine list, and wonderful eats can be had here. My favorite craving served here is the seafood mac and cheese. Super rich and absolutely divine! The steaks here always come out seasoned just right and perfectly seared. I prefer mine still screaming and they do it well. I recommend making a reservation if you are dining on a Friday or Saturday night, but this place doubles as a great lunch location. I’m a big fan of the salads, which are fresh and satisfying, not to mention filling!

I absolutely loved this restaurant when we lived in Olympia and I absolutely love coming back every visit back to Olympia. Our friends know that Hearthfire Grill is an absolute must when we are in town. The food here, especially seafood dishes are always well prepared and delicious. My favorite items usually come from the seasonal menus. The seasonal menu always features seasonal drinks, salads, entrees, and desserts. I love when a restaurant has staples, but special items that change through the year as well. They start each meal with bread that is warm, buttery, and has a hint of lemon. It is very addictive. One of my favorites is the seafood macaroni and cheese. It has plenty of cheese flavor and generous amounts of crab with bits of shrimp as well. The seasonal tomato salad is delicious with several kinds of tomatoes, croutons, parmesan, and mozzarella. The cornbread pudding and craisin pistachio rice that comes with many of the entrees are excellent sides. Dessert always has to be the slump. Part of the fun is that the flavor of the slump changes. It could be huckleberry or strawberry rhubarb or another seasonal favorite.

I’ve come here twice — for business lunches — and wasn’t particularly impressed either time. The view, as most reviews say is pretty and the service was pretty good as well. We’ve had to wait despite having reservations both times as well. I ordered the BLT and honestly, it was just your run of the mill sandwich. Nothing spectacular — the bacon was a little over crispy and the bread was cold. Everyone else seemed happy with their food, drinks and waters were always full too. Parking was ample — and it’s a bit out of the way to get to, I was actually surprised that a restaurant even existed back there! So, I’d maybe be willing to have a dinner here — to really experience what so many people in the Olympia area rave about — but, I’ve never had particularly great experiences at any of the Anthony’s I’ve been to… so, maybe not.

As a frequent guest here, I can say the food is OK(but not great). Inconsistent. However the service and view on the deck are always first rate !! Yesterday Austin made a very fun Mother’s Day for the three of us. He kept the drinks and food moving but not pushy while becoming part of our celebration and fun. We’ve had similar experiences with other of the deck’s servers. Three stars for the food and 5 for Austin = my rating of 4.
