I’ve been to this JJs FAR too often but I’ve never had a bad experience. It’s always full of young, friendly staff and always quick with their orders. Parking is always a problem at this location, if you’re there during peak hours, so keep that in mind or you might just end up vulturing around.

Okay, so I have no options with the food. I go in about once every two weeks and the sandwiches are always good. My complaint about this location is the staff. Now, not everyone on staff is bad, some are great, but since no one wears a name tag, I can’t point anyone directly out. Anyway, on my most recent trip in there were 3 employees working. One was making the sandwiches, one was working the register, and the other… well, I have no idea what the other was doing. I walk in, glance at the menu for a moment, and walk directly to the register to put in my order. One employee(the one that seemed to have no purpose) starts to ask«Can I…» and gets stopped by the person working the register. They both turn their backs to me while the register employee shows the other employee something on her phone. This goes on for about 30 seconds until the unknown purpose employee walks away. Register employee turns to me «Whatcha want?» I start give my order which consists of four sandwiches. I give her the first sandwich and start to read off a piece of paper the rest of the order. She then stops me saying«You can only get one.» This threw me off completely as I’m trying to read a list made up by co-workers. Also, there is like five people behind me. She then says«Just kidding.» Yeah, that was funny. So then I finally get my order out and pay. Meanwhile there is only one person out of three making sandwiches. Props to the employee making the sandwiches as she did an amazing job with no help from the comedian and the other employee, who may or may not have been doing inventory in the middle of lunch time. Great timing. Thankfully, I found another location near my office, so I don’t have to deal with this location again.

Slowest slowest slowest delivery ever!!! Girl drives up after 50 minutes! No apology or explanation. You’re all of 2 miles away! Ridiculous.

I’ve always loved Jimmie John’s for their«Unwich» option. No bread, just lettuce. Perfect! This particular location gets craaaaazy busy at lunch time, but even with a line out the door I was eating my sandwich within 10 minutes. They’re so fast that my coworker’s sandwich was done before he was finished paying! Love it!

AVOIDTHISJIMMYJOHNS! I rarely go to this one because they’ve messed up my order before and the food isn’t AS good, but it was on the way home, so I figured it was easier just to stop in and give it a shot. So, I order my usual Slim 1 add turkey. The total ends up being a bit more than usual, but I figured it must have been a tax difference. So, I get my sandwich and drive home. When I get home, I open it up to put the mayo on and notice that it is not, in fact, the Slim 1, but instead a sandwich that has a lot more crap on it(crap I don’t like it). Irritating, but not the end of the world. However, before I close the sandwich, I notice a piece of PLASTIC nestled in the lettuce. Obviously, I am not going to eat this sandwich and decided that I would drive all the way back to the store and get my money back. I wasn’t going to be rude about it because I’ve worked in both the food and retail industries before and I know how hard it is to deal with disgruntled customers. When I get there, I tell them what the deal was and asked for my money back. The kid gets the manager, I re-tell him what happened, and he says, with an attitude, «We don’t do refunds.» I said, «Well, I’m not really in the mood for a Jimmy Johns sandwich after having PLASTIC on my previous incorrectly-made sandwich, so I want my money back.» «Show me the plastic» he says. First of all, that’s rude and every restaurant manager should know NOT to say that. But I show him anyway(just to prove that I’m not making it up as he obviously thought I was). I find it in the sandwich and he says, again with attitude, «Oh, that’s just a piece of cellophane from one of the wrappers.» So I fired back, «I don’t care! It’s inedible so I don’t want it on my sandwich!» «Well, ma’am, we don’t do refunds. Store policy. But we can make you another sandwich.» So, not leaving there empty-handed, they made me a new sandwich WITHOUT even refunding me the difference in price. I left in a huff and decided that the best payback was the write this review. And the new sandwich was definitely not made with love. :( If you are in the Clayton area and are craving Jimmy Johns, I highly recommend the store located near Hanley and 40 across from Wal-Mart. Not only is the service better, but the food is also of higher quality and fresher. Again, AVOIDTHEJIMMYJOHNSINOLIVETTE!!!

I love Jimmy John’s. But I’m a tough love kind of girl, so JJ, this scathing review is for your own good. Some day, after you’ve read my review and improved, and when Subway doesn’t put you out of business, you’ll thank me. Jimmy John’s has a lot going for it. Their food is incredible(in my opinion) and the service(when you go in) is consistently phenomenal. Almost any Jimmy John’s I walk into, I’m guaranteed to be greeted by smiling and eager kids who are really really excited to make me a sandwich and know how my day is going. They seem to truly enjoy their jobs, or at least loathe their jobs less than the kids working at McDonald’s do. That being said, here are my two problems with this Jimmy John’s location: Hours– They don’t post their freaking hours. Actually, no Jimmy John’s do. Whyyyyyy? Their response when I bring this up is that they can’t post an opening time because their bread gets delivered at a different time each day. Potential solutions? Post a sign that says«OPENTILLMIDNIGHT», or hey, here’s an idea, how about just a neon«OPEN» sign? This place always looks like it’s closed, and the staff start tearing things down and cleaning at 9, even though they are open until midnight. You try the door, poke your head tentatively in, ask, «are you guys open?!». Then you feel stupid when they tell you, yeah, for another 3 hours. Imagine how much more business you guys could do if you let people know you were open late! «Subs So Fast You’ll Freak” — this is their advertising slogan. Did the copywriter at the ad agency who created this campaign ever have Jimmy John’s delivered? If so, then I hope they are at confession right now. I am 0 for 2 on Jimmy John’s delivery. The first time I ordered from this location it took almost 2 hours, and I live 10 minutes away. The delivery girl called me 3 times to ask me where I live, and I live on the main road that JJ’s is on. If you are going to offer delivery, invest in some maps, GPS, or mapquest for your drivers. The second time, after paying over the phone with a credit card, the guy got here in about 20 minutes, but didn’t bring the credit card slip, so he had to leave(with the subs) and come back(he left my place 20 minutes ago and still isn’t back). I’m excited to eat a ham sandwich that has been sitting in someone’s car for a half hour in Missouri in August. To conclude: I’ll always be a Jimmy John’s customer, and they get it right on the important things(food and friendly service), but a few small tweaks would make this a 5-star establishment.
