Excellent place, just moved to the area about a month ago and have tried out a few bars and this bar gets my thumbs up by far. Bar tender is very friendly and welcoming. We initially went in to get a drink or two and play some darts, but the conversation at the bar with the bar tender and other patrons kept us there till closing and we didn’t get one game of darts in. We had a very fun time and I would recommend this place to anyone. I live in Yuba and unfortunately not as close as I’d like but the drive is definitely worth it. Fun, Fun place.

Until recently, I lived about two blocks from here and frankly, it’s a dynamite and fun place! Great scene on the back porch, too, if inside gets too crowded for you. The beer is always ICYCOLD — just like I like it! They have a dart league that runs out of here but they’re not always there so there’s often space to play darts with several boards available. They get interesting bands in and we’ve always had a good time. As to the«sketchiness» of the neighborhood? In the seven years we lived two blocks away in the neighborhood(the older part, not the newer fancy area), we never had a problem with any of our cars being jacked or messed with and we parked them on the street sometimes, including my crazy old Caddy convertible and my dearly departed BMW. Nor did anyone ever break into our house… it’s a regular blue-collar neighborhood with a kickass bar up the street!

Here’s the skinny. Go there! It is a small spot quite close to the freeway and despite the exterior, it is fantastic. Karaōke on Wednesday and horseshoes in the back. Not to mention the copious amount of dart boards with trophies to prove their worth. There is a horseshoe green in the back. It is awesome. And they also have a fire pit in the back when the weather gets cold. Staff is awesome. Very welcoming and do NOT judge the book by cover or the city. Go. Have fun. I did.

I love this bar. Been to a few others in town and no one really treats you like part of the family like the crew at Grumpy’s. The owners are usually there, Harold, Pat, and Phil and they are always very welcoming. We moved here from the bay area and even there I never felt as welcomed as I do at Grumpy’s. Their karaōke is great. Need some new songs but Ben and Otis are wonderful guys and help you sing if you don’t feel comfortable. They have dart tournaments and remember who you are even if you come in only once and a while. The bartender’s, Courtney, Kortney, Crystal, and Liz know their drinks. They are awsome! If you’re into live bands, go on Saturday night.

OK, after a concert in Marysville the other night, I randomly ended up at Grumpy’s. I was a little nervous at first, since I had heard the area wasn’t great, but this bar is AWESOME! They have a GREAT bartender(Phil), karaōke, and an all around good atmosphere. I can’t say enough good things about this bar and Phil. He made our night, seriously! If you are ever in the area, or at sleep train amphitheater, you have to stop by Grumpy’s!
