Urban Exchange offers a wide selection of gently used women’s and men’s clothing. Brand highlights include BCBG, Guess, Ann Taylor, True Religion, Aldo, Banana Republic and Gap, to name a few. A wide selection in size, color and style affords budget trendsetters the opportunity to dress with class. In addition to myriad aisles of clothing, accessories and shoes, sectioned racks demarcate designer and boutique products and new styles. I came in search of casual/chic pants and walked away with cobalt Gap ankle trousers for $ 10. I also got a lace BCBG top for $ 8 and a dark felt panama hat for $ 5, among many other gems. My husband got a pair of canvas Sperrys for $ 10. All purchased products were in like-new condition. The Sperrys still had the tags. The staff helped me contemplate possible outfits to assemble with my new digs. They accept credit cards and provide plastic bags for clothes.(This may seem like an odd comment, but this is not always the case at consignment shops.) Customer service win. Here you can easily pick up a cute outfit, complete with accessories, for under $ 40. Caution: the incredibly affordable prices and intense variety pose a challenge to the shopaholic with self-control issues.

Once a while, some one gets the pleasure of crushing my pride. The sad event fell on me at this Urban Exchange, and it was delivered by a sweet pretty young lady. ‘Sorry, I can’t take your clothes because these are out of style.” My immediate interpretation was, «I am old and I am out of style.» I was double crashed. Sipping on my vintage Chateaunuef-De-Pape at home, I licked my wound of rejection and pondered the meaning of ‘out-of-style.’ I rechecked these clothes and puzzled why my good condition, well-tailored designer brands clothes deserved such misfortune. You must laughing at me right now reading my whining on such insignificant rubbish. I know, I know. I am a sentimental person. I take time choosing every piece of my outfit because the clothes is not just a roll of fabric, it is something that reveals the individualism. It has its value. My mistake made at this Urban Exchange was I wanted a price for my sentiment as well; I wanted my carefully selected and cared clothes find another person who cherishes the design and its quality; but on the other side, I totally discounted the core existence of Urban Exchange, ‘It is a business. If it can’t sell, we don’t want it.’ No business needs stagnant inventory. So, to the fair ladies who are happened to be as sentimental as myself, don’t be discouraged by the rejection of this Urban Exchange. Because fashion runs in circles. Some day the out-of-style clothes will be in favor again. For me, I probably go for a run so I can look good in my vintage jeans. After all, I am just out-of-style, but neither out of shape nor taste.

For the money they give for your items its more worth it to donate them to Good Will. The customer service is irritatingly bad, I don’t care how trendy your lil’ store is, it’s not wise to be snotty, aloof or just generally rude to your customers. I come in with a smile to return an item which I happily take store credit for, I try to compliment the girl at the counter and I am met with ZERO response, no smile no thank. I complete my transaction and still — no goodbye no have a nice day. Mothers and daughters are shopping in there you would think you’d appeal to the ones with the money. Hire people with maturity not entitlement.

Great place to buy clothes, however not the best place to sell. They are very selective which is good because you want to have quality to select from, but you won’t get much for your designer clothes.

This clothing resale store is a little gem. It’s located in a strip mall plaza right off Tampa Road next to Marshall’s(another gem). The interior is boutique-ish and not overwhelming. I wouldn’t compare it to a certain«PC» because it is definitely a step above. I have sold here twice with tremendously good luck — both times, they bought all my items and I left with a little chunk of change! Sweet! I usually donate my unwanted stuff but figured I would try selling here to save up for my boyfriend’s bday, and I’m happy I did. Actually I should’ve come sooner months ago, but oh well. The quality of clothes to buy is good — trendy but not tacky. The girls working here are really nice and look like models. If I lived closer I would come more often to both buy and sell.

I had to update my review to knock off one star. I didn’t realize until I went to wear the pants that the smell of the store had absolutely permeated the fabric of my pants and husband’s shirt mentioned in my first review. Fortunately I was able to get the scent out of the shirt with one wash, but I have washed the pants three times and the scent is still there. If you grew up in the 90s you will recognize the scent as those carts selling incense that were all over every mall. I will still be back but I really wish they wouldn’t have any candles/incense/whatever caused this scent in the store. In the future I will only buy items made out of fabric that will stand up well to repeated washing, I would suggest the same to anyone shopping here.

If you live in the area you know that Urban Exchange is the best place to go to sell your clothes. They are always nice and friendly when you enter. The girls even try to explain why they didn’t accept an article of clothing in a kind and professional way. I was recently going on a trip and found some j crew items at unbelievable prices. The sweet girl with the short blonde hair helped me… i’m not sure what her name was. but she was so helpful!

Picked up some super-high quality, unused Tommy Bahama flip flops for $ 15, an amazing Banana Republic sweater for $ 10 and a shirt for next to nothing. Super cute jewelry gift for friend $ 3. All in all… they are darn good pickers and I will be back when in town.

I’m counting the days until I can get back to Urban Exchange. This is one of the best consignment/used clothing stores I’ve been to. Everything was excellent condition, no weird smells, and almost solely brand name. I scooped up a Coach purse(yes it is real) for $ 35, some Loft shorts, Ann Taylor pencil skirt, a few tops, and several White House Black Market dresses – all for about $ 115. Several of the items even still had tags on them. I’m a huge thrifter – I’m pretty passionate about not buying slave-made clothing so 90% of my wardrobe is thrifted but at the same time I don’t like cheaply made clothing. The end result is that I wear a lot of brand names but buy them all second hand. This store is a jackpot for a name brand thrifter like me. I’d even go so far as to say it is my favorite thrift store, period(with Second Chances in Carytown, Richmond VA being second and Goodwill on Lake Austin here in Austin, Texas being third in case anyone is wondering). I can’t wait to go back in December when I’m back in the area.(And if my same size angel that dropped off all the amazing clothes could make another donation just before Christmas I’d appreciate it!)

My husband & I were venturing this neck of the woods, & I was looking for a shop like this in the area. Since I brought some items to sell(yes, I lug around some extra gear in my luggage to sell even when I’m traveling). I totally scored on an awesome pair of jeans for a trade. I was sssssoooo happy cause its hard for me to find a nice pair without having to take em to alterations. There wasn’t a huge selection to choose from but hey I definitely left happy with my jeans.
