The Edgewater

We loved this place. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. We had a beautiful oceanfront room and there was also a jacuzzi in the room that I enjoyed every night. The next time we visit Old Orchard Beach we will definitely be staying here, no questions.

What a beautiful place! Room was very clean the view was amazing. Staff very friendly. I loved the rooms tasteful décor and clean white linens. Jets in the tub were a pleasant surprise! The off season rate was more than reasonable. The beach is just steps away. We will absolutely be returning!

Very clean rooms. Nice décor. Beautiful location to gorgeous beach. Staff is friendly and always seemed to be cleaning up/​maintaining outdoor area. Decent pool. I am paranoid about cleanliness, and it was satisfactory. Rooms seemed quiet, despite Amtrak coming through at all hours blowing horn. Beds were comfy. I recommend ear plugs if you stay this close to old orchard beach. Loved the free hot coffee in the office. Nice touch. I would return to this motel if we were in the area again. Loved walking that gorgeous stretch of beach.

I have stayed here for four summers as part of an annual 3 day trip with my family. Great rooms that are clean and nicely appointed. Warm pool. Direct access to the beach. Coffee in the office every morning. Easy walk to restaurants and the pier. Great place to stay.

Just a few steps from the beach this hotel is perfect for a getaway. Very clean rooms decorated in white and blue with cute beach-​themed décor. Beds are comfortable and sheets are fresh. The hotel staff is friendly and happy to help. Complimentary coffee is a nice touch especially during morning check out. Spacious deck, roomy swimming pool, chairs outside each room — just add to the comfort. This is our second year staying here and most likely we will come back again.
Two minor downsides: 1. wi-​fi that has no bandwidth, and given spotty cellular service, internet access is either extremely slow or not happening; 2. There isn’t a spot or a clothe line to dry bathing suits and wet towels. These things remain wet throughout the whole stay.

This was a quaint little hotel, definitely had a mom and pop feel. The employees were very nice and helpful and were knowledgable about the area.
The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean, the shower was nice with great water pressure. The beach was literally a few steps away.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise!

Upon arriving at Old Orchard Beach, we started checking out hotels. Most had vacancies, but we wanted one facing the ocean with easy access to the beach. We checked out the Brunswick, where we had stayed before, but they lack air conditioning, and the temperature was well over 90 degrees.
We happened upon the Edgewater, which is nicely located in the middle of the beach (a very short walk over the dunes) in a quiet section of the beach. The hotel is very nice and the people who run it are lovely. They also have a nice outdoor pool. The only reason this did not earn five stars is that the clientele seems to be a bit older (mostly regulars) or families, and it was a little too placid for our tastes. But if you want a quiet vacation right near one of Maine’s nicest beaches, this is a great place for you.

Stayed here during a visit to the beach to race in the Rev 3 Maine Half Ironman. We loved it. The location is perfect if you’re racing. The swim start is just a few paces up the beach from the hotel, so I walked down to the pier to set up my stuff in transition, then had plenty of time to drop stuff off in the room and make it over to the swim start for a warm up in the water. The room was large and clean and had a great view of the ocean (room 20). We decided to stay until Monday, and the staff were very helpful with moving us into an available room. Will definitely book room 20 again the next time we return to the Beach. Thanks to the wonderful staff and owner for making our stay so enjoyable.

This is the second time I have visited Old Orchard Beach but the first I have stayed in The Edgewater and I will definitely come back. The room was decorated in a beach theme and was very clean and roomy. The Edgewater is located by the beach. So just a few steps and your toes will be submerged in sand. We stayed at the double bed on the top level and had an amazing view of the ocean. The pool, a heated pool, was a great way to relax after the beach or even at night as it remains open until 9pm. The staff is very attentive and they are not stingy with bath towels. Family friendly.
