Probably the nicest grocery store in town. Can’t beat the selection and display of fruits and vegetables. The hot and cold prepared foods are great, as is the bakery selection. Prices aren’t bad either – sure beats Whole Foods.
And the service is really, really top notch. I don’t know where they find these people, but it’s not your typical surly check out lady at all. Everyone has a smile, and could not be more helpful.
I shopped at the old Poricelli’s Market in Old Greenwich, which was really getting tired looking, because I like to support local business. I now shop at Kings at the same location for an entirely different reason – they blow every other market in town right out of the water.
Try it – you’ll be impressed.

This is a very nice grocery store.
The staff is both helpful and cheerful. They seem very happy working for Kings.
Here are a few observations from our first visit last weekend:
— The fresh food section is appealing.
— They meat and fish departments looks wonderful.
— They make their own sushi, in the store.
— The deli and cheese sections also look very nice. (the carrot soufflé is out of this world.)
— Lots of items were marked down (i.e. on special) and the prices seem okay for a market of this size.
We’ve been shopping at Stop & Shop in Stamford since moving to Old Greenwich about two years ago, but we’re going to give Kings a try.
One more reason to shop at Kings… you’ll only have to deal with 7 isles vs. the 26 isles at Stop & Shop.
