Acting in the Moment Meisner Based Actor Training

I took a beginners acting class taught by Matt in Highland Park, when Stage Stars had a studio there. I never really had done acting outside of my school plays, which I loved, but I wanted to get training outside of school too. I’m pretty outgoing, but not everyone in the class was, and Matt is SO great at making everyone feel welcome and comfortable! He’s actually really funny and you can just tell he truly knows what he’s doing. We learned fundamental techniques, and had chances to write and perform our own work in groups. I think my favorite thing is that it never really felt like a class, it was like we all got together every week and just did what we loved to do, and Matt guided us in the right direction and gave us really helpful tips on how we could improve. We had a lot of creative license in the class, and Matt was really good at letting us express ourselves, and explaining new techniques to try out and play around with. This class definitely shaped me as an actor, and helped fine tune my skills for the professional work I do now. I highly, highly recommend this class to anyone who wants a real flavor of acting from a pro!
