Taco Bueno

Fast food Mexican. Chicken Taquito was tasty, everything else was blah, if you get my expression. Salsa bar was a nice feature, but not fresh. Service was, sadly, typical of most fast food — slow, unresponsive and distant. Interior was not kept clean. Oh well, wasn’t expecting much.

I’ve never had a problem with this location or any other Taco Bueno location. The food has always been hot, fast, and delicious. Their quesadillas are huge and I like the salsa that goes with it. My most favorite thing, though, are their cheesecake chimis. So friggin good!

Worst dining experience ever! The place looks like shit. Ceiling tiles missing. there was sauce cups just floating in the empty condiment bar. The guy «cooking» just looked pissed about something and forgot to complete the order. The food was horrible! Close it down and just replace it with a Taco Bell, at least they’re food is consistent and the place halfway clean !

The food here is consistently good, the price is reasonable, the service is reasonably fast, and the employees are somewhat friendly. I especially like the Bueno burrito, which comes with your choice of meat, rice, and beans. The chicken and the black beans in the burrito are delicious, and obviously high-​quality. The combo fajitas skillet with rice, beans, and chips is delectable. The chicken is delicious, and the steak is tasty, but kind of tough. The free salsa bar includes hot and mild salsas, pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, and jalapenos. The restaurant is fairly new, and always clean. The e-​club offers some very good coupons.

Had the chilada/​taco platter. It was good. Fresh vegetables, the meat was seasoned well, and the rice was good. The refried beans were a bit thick, but decent. The queso was good.

Always get my order wrong when I go through drive thru. Without fail. No matter how clear you enunciate. So hopefully you aren’t picky!
I will say food is pretty good though.

This is Mexican Fast Food and that should set your expectations. I think the food and menu items are much better than most of their competition. None of this fast food is healthy so I won’t be delusional with my review… but the salads and fresh vegetable toppings seem to be very fresh and tasty. Have you ever notice that the tomatoes and lettuce at Taco Bell have absolutely no taste? This is a great spot to stop for a quick meal. This location seems to be the most consistent of the four in town I frequent.

I know people sometimes bash Taco Bueno, but their not that bad really. When comparing them to the MexiAmeri fast foods industry of Taco Bell, Taco Via, Taco John’s, Taco Casa, El Pollo Loco, Taco Cabana, Del Taco, & Taco Tico… they should be ranked near the top.
I know for 100% factual certainty that Taco Bueno uses «REAL» meats. Yes, true 100% ground beef, steak, and chicken. Do you think the others do (El Pollo Loco does)? Their food is cooked and cut fresh every single day. Yes, they still serve plenty of prepackaged ingredients with their food.
Their menu changes somewhat from time to time. Plenty of combo offerings and a variety of plate dishes without the drink. Some of the better menu items:
1) Large plate of nachos. Two different varieties.
2) Taco’s soft, hard, and street style are excellent.
3) Plenty of Burrito options
4) Fajitas are really good
5) Sometimes they have flautas and eminada’s. Very tasty.
6) Rice and beans are spot on.
7) Tortilla soup is surprisingly good and not too salty.
8) Cheesecake bites are to die for!
9) Not bad guacamole.
9) Other menu items are excellent as well.
The salsa bar is rather unique in this particular industry. Mild, medium, hot, pico, onions, & lemons are self serve.
Did I mention Taco Bueno has excellent breakfast offerings and rather cheap?
The interior is always clean, warm, and good music playing on the speakers. Friendly staff most of the time and service isn’t too slow.
Only place I think is better may be El Pollo Loco on the West Coast.

It really depends on what you are ordering if it is going to be decent or nasty.
The breakfast burritos are really, really dry and mostly tortilla. Make sure you get a drink with them, a large one!
The nachos are indescribable.
The little mini tacos are good, especially the fish.
The cheesecake chimis are addicting… They are good and nasty all at the same time, but something about them will make you want more. Kind of like heroin.
The tacos are just ok.
The burritos are mostly tortilla.
If you order the right thing, you will have a pleasant experience. It is a matter of finding what is decent and sticking with it. You are much better off just going to a better quality local Mexican restaurant where you don’t have to worry about what you order not being a waste of money and poor quality.
The price is typical fast food and the service is friendly.

It’s by far the best tasting taco fast food I’ve had since Amigo’s in Lawrence (RIP).
The prices are on par with other fast food. Maybe a dime more than Taco Bell was worth it very easily.
The service has always been friendly and the place is clean.
The only bad thing is the parking. Who designed that maze?

Ok, it’s fast food so I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I ate here, but it was only once and the shame of using a drive thru will keep me from doing it again.
If you do find yourself in the area and in need of something that will accompany watching sports on t.v. (or whatever your excuse for eating junk food might be) this really isn’t a bad option. The most impressive thing about Taco Bueno was the veggie menu. What?!? Fast food with veggie options?!? Yes. It’s true. They have a veggie black bean burrito that is, in all honesty, not that bad. It’s actually kinda good considering the price and that it’s fast food. I mean, this review is all relative here, people. They also have an edible chip appetizer that comes with salsa, guac, beans, and queso.
I honestly didn’t think that I could ever possibly give fast food more than one star, but this was shocking in it’s resemblance to real food. Now if only it weren’t so unhealthy, environmentally awful, or socially shameful to eat here, we might be talking something to return to, but alas this is to be saved for emergencies only.

Hit or miss fast food Mexican at its finest. Sometimes I wonder why the hell I even bother eating here. Other times I wonder why the hell I don’t eat here more often.
I habitually order the Beef Mucho Nachos (which is a whole meal in and of itself), but I like to accompany my nachos with a small randomly chosen menu item which helps to break up the monotony associated with eating Mexican food.
I think Bueno’s downfall, if I may be so blunt, is that their beef is too heavily seasoned (lingering taste) and, more often than not, it is a little on the dry side. I think I’ve discovered that this place is only satiable when you are friggin’ starving and you have a craving for some sloppy Mexican.

ok, so I still think that Taco Yucko in general sucks big fat (insert your favorite object or item here), but I will say that this location does indeed have extremely nice people.
Oh, and the chicken tortilla soup was eddible. A plus when I was sick and just needed something extremely hot and soupy ASAP.
I will say though that the rest of the menu is still unfit for human consumption and should be avoided AT ALL COSTS.. .. .
